@Kidsandliz A regular pot works too- that was my point. edit: and a pot on my gas stove is faster and more cost efficient for a pitcher of tea than a microwave
@Pantheist I knew that was your point... just adding the microwave. I am not sure why anyone would want to own one of these but then again obviously some people do...
@Alien stainless steel whistles..........with a shooting plume of steam.......scaring shit from you. (I WANTED to write it in true haiku form back to you, but I am LITERALLY not smart enough to figure out how to space without submitting the comment. SO - there you go.)
@shubydoo When you reply to someone you can't space the same way you would do it if it was a comment in the "big" box. Hit return in the "small" box and it posts it...
@Kidsandliz No, it's done by using angle brackets with the letters 'br' in the middle. This, without the spaces: < b r > Each time you type that it creates a line break.
@alacrity Not really, when you factor in the risk of superheating w/o boiling. Also, I don't know why, but I've never had microwaved tea that tasted like it brewed right. Or microwaved anything, for that matter.
How is a kettle whistle so drastically different than a whistle from your lips or instrument? Did we not understand that either? Am I getting bamboozled with fake science?
I'm a little teapot short and stout. Here is my handle. Here is my spout. When I get all steamed up. Hear me shout!

These are cool for the hot water in bulk. Hitler link was funny. Write-up reminded me of the Museum of Endangered Sounds thread. Can't remember who posted that, but thanks. It's a nifty site. http://savethesounds.info/ Play em all at once!
Is it just me or did Meh recently decide to buy items that new-woot can't even sell? $240 knife 3 pack, worthless Japanese vacuum, and now a teapot? Its days like this that I'm thankful I discontinued the VMP. No wonder they have to mail freebies to keep VMP happy this month. I have really loved Meh for months now. But this week has been a sharp decline in offerings. Sorry Meh!
@BigOhOfN Those knives netted $17895 for meh. The "worthless" vacuum $57216. In other words, someone liked those things, a lot. Maybe tomorrow is the day it's something you like, maybe not. That's beauty of a true Deal-A-Day site.
@BigOhOfN If you expect knockout items every day at ridiculous prices, you need to come down from outer space. Meh isn't your personalized store, they have to sell a variety.
@BigOhOfN > meh [me] interjection 1. (an expression of boredom or apathy): We thought it would sell, but customers are saying “Meh!”. adjective 2. unimpressive; boring: The first few songs were meh. 3. bored or apathetic: I'm feeling a little meh.
Studies have shown the super violent heating of water molecules via microwave energy results in an upsetting tea. Kettle heated water molecules are much more calm and result in much more peaceful tea.
@sp3ar she's the real criminal here... throwing in with these ... these... HUCKSTERS (there I said it) ... @lisaviolet is a traitor to all online shoppers and I blame HER for today's QUOTE"UNQUOTE" .. 'deal' .. "UNQUOTE"QUOTE"
Just doesn't seem like much of a deal......Sorry Meh. My wife uses an electric tea kettle I used to hate at first thinking it would burn the house down, but now I really like it.
@Thumperchick Style. That's all I can think of, really. I'm passing on this too, but that's because I have a couple of the dispensing hot pots already.
@unixrab I still have hope that some day you will come to a product thread with something productive and positive to say. I don't expect it, just hope. Your harassment of the GotM is generally hilarious, though.
@Thumperchick i dont think he's being unconstructive. A lot of what we've been seeing on the site (especially lately) havent really been "deals" by Snapsters own definition. They have been sales, and in a many cases very mediocre ones. Complaining that the site isnt living up to its purpose is kinda what the forums are for.
@neuromancer This site is meh, so if not purpose, at least it's living up to its name. Not every item here is going to suit everyone, though, and what may be mediocre in one's perspective may still be great in someone else's. Case in point - speaker docks.
@riddick I just wish I knew if it was "hefty" feeling, or if it is one of those "feels like one from a play kitchen set" lightweights. I wants heft in mah kettles.
@Noddy93 Doomed? As in, "you're about to go broke from all the spending?", or, "All meh needed was one more victim. Now the gateway to hell is complete."?
I love meh's shipping method. If they simply had the postman pick it up I'd have received this today (wed)... but since they give it to fed ex to give it to the postman the delivery day is not until saturday.
@JonT i am cheap... and i realize the massive delay is simply due to the fact that I live only 100 miles away. seeing as this has happened to all 29 of my meh orders, i don't think it matters too much. what do you want for nothin'? a rubber biscuit?
I finally found a use for the teapot today... my niece came over and said that she needed one. what did i have sitting in the box in which it came? yep, a teapot.

@mediocrebot 20$ should be the darn list price
(Also will post the picture of my broken mug soon, been pretty sick)
@Nexar When a Yanagi sells for ~65… I agree…
Meh.
20 bucks for a pot that's only good for boiling water?
@Pantheist The microwave boils water no problem and most of us have one of those already...
@Kidsandliz haha fair enough
The Most Meh PossibleTM
I wish it were the hitler kettle.
@molfsontan me too.
Son of a BITCH!!! I just bought a new teakettle at Home Goods tonight. It's already been washed and used so I can't return it. Muther phlucker!
@bluedog it probably shrunk a bit in the dryer, too.
Meh. Not baby arm compatible. No purple.
@heartny erm... if you pour the boiling contents over the baby's arm, it'd turn purple?
I love purple.
@alacrity Probably. Or Georgia Red, at the very least.
@heartny baby arm was too busy digging a hole in the drywall.
@heartny Dr. Spock approves.
this is for people who think a microwave is inconvenient.
@alacrity Its for people who think a microwave is too convenient.
@alacrity it is for people who barely know how to use a stove and think now boiling water the fancy way will impress
@alacrity This is for people who boil water in quantity for the 750+ jello shots they make for a Jimmy Buffett concert.
I wanted something like this for a long time.
Then I became aware of the existence of electric kettles.
meh. I just bought the HAMILTON BEACH PERSONAL ICED COFFEE & TEA BREWER thingy the other day.
@Fish_Kungfu Kettles are for boiling.
@Cinoclav And pots are for serving. Now we know everything we need to know about tea vessels!
@brhfl @cinoclaev and microwaves can multitask
@Fish_Kungfu and little lambsedivy....a kiddleadivy too, wouldn't youuu.....
@shubydoo ..wooden shoe, wooden shoe?
@Cinoclav Ahh, good point!
prefer electric
soft gurgles instead of shrieks
relaxing teatime
@Alien stainless steel whistles..........with a shooting plume of steam.......scaring shit from you. (I WANTED to write it in true haiku form back to you, but I am LITERALLY not smart enough to figure out how to space without submitting the comment. SO - there you go.)
@shubydoo When you reply to someone you can't space the same way you would do it if it was a comment in the "big" box. Hit return in the "small" box and it posts it...
@shubydoo
the reply boxes
though convenient and well placed
lack amenities
@Kidsandliz But can you use the 'break' code?
Guess so.
@Cinoclav what is this - hitting the space bar a pile of times?
@Kidsandliz No, it's done by using angle brackets with the letters 'br' in the middle. This, without the spaces: < b r > Each time you type that it creates a line break.
See?!
@Cinoclav

Meh.
I have an electric kettle. I use it multiple times, every day.
I would NEVER go back to a regular kettle.
Electric kettles are far superior.
@mamawoot so's a microwave oven
@alacrity Not really, when you factor in the risk of superheating w/o boiling. Also, I don't know why, but I've never had microwaved tea that tasted like it brewed right. Or microwaved anything, for that matter.
@brhfl totally agree with superheating (did it) but not the taste problem
@mamawoot electric kettles are far more expensive in the long run if you drink tea regularly. Heating with electricity can get quite pricey.
@Vargas For those of us with electric ranges it would actually be more expensive to use a kettle.
Looks like a pretty nice kettle, but I'm all set for teakettles right now, so meh.
Note to buyers: @snapster specifically said, "Find me a deal on Ketel One." Heads are gonna have to roll...
@Cinoclav wait until tomorrow's baking soda deal. they ruined the site but what a great prank
We already have a really nice one. The "whistle" is two distinct harmonica notes. Very pleasant.
French press coffee from stove water for the win!
temporary-joyous-plantation
if you heat up more than a cup of water, stove kettle beats micro in our house.
@cleverogre I bought a full-sized french press, a mini french press, and stainless steel kettle, all for what this kettle costs here. Just sayin.
@neuromancer cool!
How is a kettle whistle so drastically different than a whistle from your lips or instrument? Did we not understand that either? Am I getting bamboozled with fake science?
.....and suddenly everyone wished for speaker docks again. Meh
I'm a little teapot short and stout. Here is my handle. Here is my spout. When I get all steamed up. Hear me shout!

@username Wow, impressive...DMCA removal with your post, cannot say I've seen that here recently!
I used an 220 electric kettle in Afghanistan, it was awe-mazing! Now back to horrid stove kettle or boiling water exploding in the microwave.
@GoatLord granted who cooks anything in the microwave for more than ten minutes
@GoatLord 3:09 is not a "moment".
@hallmike depends on your definition of "brief"
@hallmike 3 minutes is an eon in microwave, about right for kettle time.
These are cool for the hot water in bulk. Hitler link was funny. Write-up reminded me of the Museum of Endangered Sounds thread. Can't remember who posted that, but thanks. It's a nifty site. http://savethesounds.info/
Play em all at once!

But this week has been a sharp decline in offerings. Sorry Meh!
@BigOhOfN but..but free phone stands and TOCC chargers with VMP!!
@cleverogre I dont mind lower expectations. But if Meh keeps posting things this bad- I'll stop visiting the site.
@BigOhOfN To be honest- I half expect tomorrow to be a microwave bacon tray.
@BigOhOfN Those knives netted $17895 for meh. The "worthless" vacuum $57216. In other words, someone liked those things, a lot. Maybe tomorrow is the day it's something you like, maybe not. That's beauty of a true Deal-A-Day site.
@BigOhOfN Korean vacuum cleaner. There's a difference. :p
@BigOhOfN oh wow... another convert!?
@unixrab The PLM club (person lacking mediocrity)?
@BigOhOfN If you expect knockout items every day at ridiculous prices, you need to come down from outer space. Meh isn't your personalized store, they have to sell a variety.
@BigOhOfN It's just you..... Well, actually you and @unixrab.
@bluedog heh.
Studies have shown the super violent heating of water molecules via microwave energy results in an upsetting tea. Kettle heated water molecules are much more calm and result in much more peaceful tea.
I think.
@RedOak Yes! And did you read of the experiment showing microwaved water killed plants?
@RedOak
There are dozens of stainless steel tea kettles on Amazon for 20 bucks or less...
I was hoping it was electric when my images weren't loading then it was a stovetop one and i was sad @lisaviolet
@unixrab
...and @lisaviolet was all like
@unixrab I CAN bake one of those cakes. Gonna make one today, as a matter of fact.
Just doesn't seem like much of a deal......Sorry Meh. My wife uses an electric tea kettle I used to hate at first thinking it would burn the house down, but now I really like it.
I would like a better kettle, but my $10 one gets the job done just as fast. What benefit is there to spend more on a standard kettle?
@Thumperchick see below
@Thumperchick Style. That's all I can think of, really. I'm passing on this too, but that's because I have a couple of the dispensing hot pots already.
WHOA!!!? So when you put THIS thing over a heat source it .... BOILS WATER!??! nothing else in the werld can do that!! I'M IN ... ...
@unixrab I still have hope that some day you will come to a product thread with something productive and positive to say. I don't expect it, just hope. Your harassment of the GotM is generally hilarious, though.
@Thumperchick welllll... do I have a new post for you in the forums!!! SEARCH: "I get it" ;-)
@Thumperchick i dont think he's being unconstructive. A lot of what we've been seeing on the site (especially lately) havent really been "deals" by Snapsters own definition. They have been sales, and in a many cases very mediocre ones. Complaining that the site isnt living up to its purpose is kinda what the forums are for.

I bought it, so apparently I'm an idiot according to this discussion.
I've been wanting a new kettle and this handle looks like a better design than my last $20 kettle.
@riddick I just wish I knew if it was "hefty" feeling, or if it is one of those "feels like one from a play kitchen set" lightweights. I wants heft in mah kettles.
@Pamtha A heavier one (thicker metal) would take longer to boil, so that actually becomes a drawback.
@riddick me2 I got a stupid glass one right now and it just doesn't scream Like a w**t Monkey like the metal ones can
The pot meets the kettle
But it's shiny... precious!
I use a 4 cup Pyrex measuring cup. Boil water, throw in the tea, pour tea.
So this is my first Meh purchase. Not very exciting. However, I did sign up for VMP, so at least that's a break-even proposition at the moment.
@ACraigL you signed up for VMP? oh dear gawd... you're dooomed
@Noddy93 Doomed? As in, "you're about to go broke from all the spending?", or, "All meh needed was one more victim. Now the gateway to hell is complete."?
@ACraigL Yes
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
I love purple.
@jrwofuga That's my boy!
I love meh's shipping method. If they simply had the postman pick it up I'd have received this today (wed)... but since they give it to fed ex to give it to the postman the delivery day is not until saturday.
@Noddy93 that pretty much describes SmartPost. It's cheap, we're cheap, you're cheap…it makes sense.
Thanks Meh!
This was my first meh purchase, and my wife refuses use it, citing that it makes her tea taste like metal. Mehtal?
Stupid mehtal dust collector.
