Cavalier speaker is crap
4I ordered a Cavalier Maverick Bluetooth speaker on Meh the end of November. The internal “lifetime” lithium battery is dead. Apparently a short lifetime. Instructions came with a number to call if it dies. Can’t get through ever and get shucked off to the old “login at customer support” standard blow-off. I Google it and it goes to a Shopify membership login site. Bummer. I loved the sound and ease of use but a “lifetime” of 4 months seems short to me.

Could be worse:
Did you google for an alternative CS phone number?
Depending on how that speaker is built and what they used for batteries, they may be replaceable with a bit of tinkering.
Nobody should be selling a product claiming a “lifetime” lithium battery. So far there isn’t a technology out there for lithium batteries that will give you a lifetime of service. If you invent something that can do that, companies like Tesla would pay you millions for your patent or just to license your patent.

Yeah marketing something as “lifetime” is generally just wishful thinking. Even ‘lifetime warranty’ will often have a caveat of “life of the object warranteed”
So yeah…duh… if the object dies, the warranty dies with it! WTF??
Well, that’s because they are using their speaker in the call center and their batteries died too!
That stinks. But you can probably replace the battery yourself. After you open the thing, it will be easy to replace the battery. You could get a battery on the auction site once you know what battery to get. Here is a page with step by step instructions with pictures for a different speaker. But it is likely the same battery.

If you’re a battery, you’re either working or you’re dead… it’s a sh*t life

@DrWorm Some lucky few do get to enjoy a sheltered life of indeterminate length safely ensconced in the cold embrace of a refrigerator or freezer before they must finally give it their all.
