For everyone who didn't stay up to see this item: for the first 8 minutes the description said "It's only twelve bucks!" while the price said twenty dollars.
I don't think anyone pointed it out, at all, but the description says $12 and the price is $20. I blame @cengland0 for both the price discrepancy and the fact that it totally wasn't said several times.
This seems like a pretty good coffee-maker for the price of a crappy coffee maker. But the stuff that makes it good (gold tone filter, better ground saturation, and longer steep time) don't really appeal to people who set a timer, brew their coffee 12 cups at a time, and then leave it on a hot plate.
@neuromancer Thermal carafe or right into thermos for work. I'm a dripper but the filter and nozzles would've hooked me if I hadn't just bought the flex-brew here the other week.
Hey Meh, Crazy idea here. Why not change the price to $12, sell a boatload and satisfy your Meh public. The other deal a day site had them for $10. You can do better than $20.
@kylewood no it translates (roughly) to: "dammit meh get some f'n good stuff for me to buy bcuz i DO NOT WANT this stupid crap you've been offering.. be better than woot for godz sakes" I think that's close
The alternatives list didn't have pad machines on them. What, are they not popular in the States? Is Senseo an unknown name? Am I the only one here who likes the convenience of a Senseo without the waste of a Keurig/N'Espresso?
@Fnordius Pods were popular for a while but fell out when the K-cups arrived. I still have the Juan Valdez pod machine somewhere; Target had a buy-6-boxes-of-pods-get-the-machine-free offer when it was introduced.
@Fnordius My only experience with "pad" coffee was the refurb Gevalia I bought from Woot Christmas of 2009 for $15. They sold 9375 of those units and many of us got machines with foul water in the tanks that would only steam and/or pour water onto the counter despite our efforts to get them working with tips from the forum. Gevalia wouldn't honor the refurb warranty, but Woot was still WOOT! then, and took care of us with a refund. I noticed that the pad coffee disappeared from the shelves soon after, as people started migrating to Keurig and similar k-cups.
Where's the speaker dock? Is it on the non-handle side of the machine? Or built into the bottom Control Panel of Control XB500? Is it in the top? IS THE FILTER A SPEAKER DOCK??!
This could make a good Christmas present, if it wasn't for Kerig and the K-Cup revolution. 12 cup coffee makers are so last decade, I can't even give them away with a clear conscious.
I actually got this over at the other guys a while ago during their 9.99 sale. It's not a bad coffee maker. We just use it when we have guests staying over after the baby was born. It makes coffee. It does it in about 10 minutes. I mean for the price I paid I felt I got a good value.
The filter is nice that you can just wash it out. No need for paper filters.
I didn't even bother with the directions (who needs those) and just poured enough ground coffee into the top, added water, hit start, and then accepted the accolades of my guests.
It also helps that the nearest Starbucks and/or Dunkin Donuts is a good 15 minutes away. Captive audiences like mediocre coffee much better.
But for everyday use, I just use a re-usable K-Cup, I just need one cup for myself in the AM. But if you have multiple coffee drinkers or like to drink a lot of java (not TM), this is a pretty decent maker.
Capresso makes a good cup of coffee. We have a similar model at work. The speed and temp combination are what separates cheapo makers and better ones. I'd say our Capresso is just on the good side of "better ones". $20 seems like a good deal for this model.
I clicked "buy it" a few times, but every time I started the checkout process I got redirected to the "something went wrong" video. Didn't matter if I used Amazon or Google login. Oh well. Meh.
@p3dal Considering the timing of your message, you probably tried to complete the checkout a couple minutes past midnight which means it switched to another product. You cannot buy any more after 12:00 midnight eastern.
@cengland0 I can see why you would think that, but no, it was first thing in the morning. I tried to buy it 5 or 6 times then came back in the evening to see what the new item was, when I thought to check the forums to see if anyone else had problems.
@p3dal Every once in a while, someone gets this glitch. But usually, it means they bought it. Go to https://meh.com/orders and make sure one or 2 of those didn't just go through.
@valleygoat Got a tracking # from halp@meh but tracking only says that a label has been created. What's up? This is my 1st order...probably last. Site is living up to their name...will stick to Woot.
Got mine yesterday, washed everything, then ran water only pot. Water seemed a little plastic-y smelling. Hopefully it goes away after running water though a few times?!

@mediocrebot hai i do not want this
Really? Meh!!!!!!
haha, baby arm
@cengland0 Creeepy baby arm trying to take my Coffee.
@cengland0 Did babby arm take the other 4 spray nozzles?
@G1 I'm sorry, I don't get it.
@cengland0 Failure attempt at humor. Description says 10 spray nozzles, pic shows 6.
I could be wrong about that, but at least I'm not witty.
Price is 20, description says 12.
@neuromancer Glad someone else read the description as well!
@neuromancer And I might have bought one at $12.
@neuromancer yep, I came here just to say this.
@mci I read twelve bucks and I was scrolling up to buy it, then I saw 20... meh...
@dashcloud If only the copy writer had his coffee first. lol
@mci Definitely would have bought at $12. Thinking about it at $20 but honestly usually have my first cup at work so home machine not a big priority.
@neuromancer I blame Lexdysia or is it Dyslexia
@kylewood Blame @cengland0.
@neuromancer blame @cengland0 because the story was wrongo
@kylewood i think it's daily sex
I just want to smell coffee and not actually drink it.
@jocmckin I just like the smell of napalm in the morning too.
Supercalifragilisticexpimehlidocious
@jsh139 .. Thatseasyforyoutosay..
"It's only twelve bucks"?
@lisaviolet I hereby call SHENANIGANS
@khunjeff :0 THE SHENANIGANS HAVE BEEN CALLED
"And it's only twelve bucks!"
Lies. I have been had!
Also, coffee sucks, tea for life.
@bph (Use it to make tea... I use my coffee maker for that, too)
Write up says twelve bucks, button says twenty...
Edit: only twelve people have mentioned this haha
The description says "twelve bucks" and the button says "$20".... I demand an $8 refund on this meh item!
@hih934 You can demand in one hand and crap in the other...
@Stumpy91 If I never crap it will be a tie.
12 20 12 20 12 20 12 20
Pass
Yuppers. I'm pulling the "twelve bucks" lever, too.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the description said twelve bucks when the price is twenty....
Mehffee.
Maybe the extra 8 bucks is for the Meh staff tip jar.
I would have bought it for twelve bucks, but twenty? Meh.
Head more Roombas, Neato's, and Dysons to be a real Meh site
For everyone who didn't stay up to see this item: for the first 8 minutes the description said "It's only twelve bucks!" while the price said twenty dollars.
Would have bought it for $12, but $20? Meh.
$20 coffee makers are a dime a dozen.
@hallmike Yes, but this one,..... you can only buy 3. And then we might slap your hand if you find a way to buy more.
I don't think anyone pointed it out, at all, but the description says $12 and the price is $20. I blame @cengland0 for both the price discrepancy and the fact that it totally wasn't said several times.
@Thumperchick I bet the description was supposed to read, "ts only 12 cups" but the auto correct said "its only 12 bucks" :-)
@cengland0 Trying to pass the buck I see. :-)
@neuromancer no, just trying to be funny and failed at it.
@cengland0 You have only yourself to blame. This month.
Let me just thank whoever added the totally uncessary - but appreciated - disembodied baby arm.
You sir (and/or ma'am?), deserve something.
@Chops they do say coffee stunts your growth
@Chops and kudos for adding the reflection of the arm on the pot - nice touch! But the coffee looks like it's had a possum skull soaking in it.
maybe that's why the "cups" are 4oz?
@hallmike That's what the extra $8 are for
I think that $12 + @cengland0 = $20 and that's how meh is doing its math.
@JazzyJosh Or a really bad TYPO is causing us a really big headache right now...... more Tylenol mixed with Xanax please.
@JazzyJosh except the price of the scapegoat is worth much more than $8.
@cengland0 This is true.
They changed the copy, which now refers to "only twenty bucks." I guess they forgot to thank us.
@gertiestn Yes, .....Thank you, thank you, Thanks. Hope that works. How about an all encompassing .... whoops.
@kylewood Though to be fair I didn't buy it. NSFProfanity
Price switch was probably a high end lab test to see how many of us are paying attention.....not
Meh. The Hamilton Beach Flexbrew that they sold few days ago was a much better value and purchase.
I noticed today's goatee. So, will the male meh faces have beards for the rest of November?
Can't anybody here play this game?

Drip coffee? How 20th century
@Cerridwyn Coffee? How 13th century
Those spray nozzles look like they'd really like to clog up. I'd recommend using distilled water with this.

@unixrab FINALLY! someone with some conviction
@unixrab Does that translate to Q*Bert?
@kylewood no it translates (roughly) to: "dammit meh get some f'n good stuff for me to buy bcuz i DO NOT WANT this stupid crap you've been offering.. be better than woot for godz sakes" I think that's close
The nozzles are like a mini-bidet for your other brown stuff . . .
Meh since I don't like coffee.
I need to say meh.
The alternatives list didn't have pad machines on them. What, are they not popular in the States? Is Senseo an unknown name? Am I the only one here who likes the convenience of a Senseo without the waste of a Keurig/N'Espresso?

I probably don't actually need this, and I keep saying I'm going to stop drinking coffee for a while. lolnope
Where's the speaker dock? Is it on the non-handle side of the machine? Or built into the bottom Control Panel of Control XB500? Is it in the top? IS THE FILTER A SPEAKER DOCK??!
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
I love purple.
This could make a good Christmas present, if it wasn't for Kerig and the K-Cup revolution. 12 cup coffee makers are so last decade, I can't even give them away with a clear conscious.
@cengland0 please apologize for meh for the type already we are waiting.....

First meh! I'll give it a floor run see if it plays.
I suppose this makes better coffee than a Sansa....

Has this thing not been shipped yet? wtf?
@valleygoat I was just checking on the same thing. Need some coffee!
@valleygoat Everything I've ordered since this has already shipped! What's up MEH?
@valleygoat @JALightpost @phronemo I think you should all email support - halp@meh.com
@valleygoat Have you received yours yet? Cause I haven't...
@valleygoat Got a tracking # from halp@meh but tracking only says that a label has been created. What's up? This is my 1st order...probably last. Site is living up to their name...will stick to Woot.
