“Suitable for various cooktops” including all the kinds that make heat, but not the cool kind that use EM energy… (aka Induction). I guess they’d work on the wood stove too.
@bugger All of my cookware is regular stainless steel or cast iron and I’ve never had food stick. Teflon seems like a lot of extra fragility for no upside. A solution looking for a problem.
Granted, I’ve never tried using teflon stuff, so maybe there’s something I’m missing.
@brennyn Teflon is great for the rare occasions when you’re making something that really likes to stick, like eggs. But otherwise, don’t bother — just get your pan up to temperature and slightly oily before adding your ingredients, and you’re golden
@zippyus Much the same as how the tool set piece counts get wildly inflated by adding a big rack of screwdriver bits and two or four sets of allen wrenches.
Statistically speaking, by volume, there’s more Space in the Universe than there is Stuff, so I don’t feel like I need to spend extra time and money trying to save it. Besides, most of the pots and pans that i already have are nested better than those. If one is adept in the art of Storing Things Inside Other Things, this is often very easy to achieve. However, if one’s goal is to achieve the kind of picture-perfect appearance of An Ordered Existence that is shown in the magazines devoted to Tastefully Decorated Places Where No One Really Lives, then this might meet with your amenities curator’s approval. But ask them first, or they may be horrified at your gaucherie.
@gobnu I went back to cast iron but it’s heavy. Stainless is the way to go. Lightweight and easy to clean. These will inevitably peel and add “nonstick” to your food sooner or later. I’m not sure when we became addicted to a damn egg sliding around a skillet coated in something that can kill you. But whatever.

@caffeineguy I think Meh actually puts effort into explicitly NOT stating induction compatibility. I just always assume it’s a “no”.
If I don’t buy it, it takes up even less space.
@awk And you save even more.
I have a similar set. They do scratch if you “accidentally” use metal. Other than that they are Bueno!

@brennyn @bugger you’re not missing anything. Cast iron gets better over time, Teflon chips and poison you over time. I’ve had all of them

if you’re doing comparisons at costco online note that they count each lid as a “piece”
oh wait, that’s how they count things here too.
/giphy never mind

And where’s the kitchen sink?
@hchavers I am going to take a wild guess and say in the kitchen.
@hchavers Anything is a kitchen sink if you’re brave enough.
No induction. Meh.
@ESTNYC Maybe you should use deduction.
@mehllow I deduced there’s no induction, actually.

No induction, no sale.

Literally just bought the ss version of these yesterday. Wife doesn’t like nonstick, so I guess I’m not missing out on anything. Anyhoo…

This deal is just not gonna pan out for me…
@MrNews Just can’t get a handle on it.
