Price is pretty good, speaker weighs 7 pounds not 12. I couldn’t find the internal battery capacity online. Big minus for me is absence of a 3.5mm AUX input port (it is bluetooth only) since I still use wired-only devices and I generally prefer wired to bluetooth. Also I don’t like stuff with sealed internal batteries.
There is an even bigger (like 2x as big and expensive) XXL version which claims to have 15,600 mah internal battery which I’d guess is 6x 18650’s at 2600 mah each. Don’t know about this smaller version.
I think if I ever decide to get a large bluetooth speaker I’d get one made by a power tool company like Milwaukee Tool. They go on promo at Home Depot all the time, and they run on easily swappable cordless tool battery packs. Another possibility is to hack up my old boom box to have bluetooth input.

–Wasn’t this sold for double the price earlier in the year? That’s got me a bit intrigued–
@orphum An active professor of Mehistory has corrected my assessment below:
@tuinybadger That was the XXL model, which appears to be about twice the size.
@orphum Good correction, thank you!
@orphum @tuinybadger ‘twas a good question!
@tuinybadger That said, given the sturm und drang around shipping those XXL models over the summer, I’m surprised there’s any Braven inventory at all!
What’s it sound like underwater?
@eeterrific like money going down the drain — almost literally.
Yes they were. And then the reviews were pretty damn good. Gonna get a pair for the pontoon.
So you can annoy people 300 yards away with your phone calls.
@mehcuda67
That is a dumb feature. Will just use for music and annoy them that way. 2 live Crew anyone?

Is it Bluetooth enabled and does it have a flashlight? I really need more Bluetooth enabled devises with a flashlight so I don’t have to find a light.
