Damn this is actually tempting. Just got a new bedframe and need to get a new queen size foam matress. $150 sure beats the 400-500 I was looking at on amazon, but these are only 8". They do have the gel though and "cooling channels" so they should help with the temperature issues.
The lack of reviews and the fact they are available at this price sort of worries me though. I just want to sleep in comfort is that so much to ask.
@bph I actually prefer the 8" memory foam to the 10, 12 inch or the 3 or 4 inch toppers. For what it's worth, I wouldnt let the extra height make the difference. Its all about the foam density. I love high density so I don't "sink" in - and still stay cool.
@bph you should check out Casper! I just got one and my wife and I love it. It has a latex layer which I've read is premium stuff.
They have a 100-day trial period and a seamless return policy- immediate refund and they send a guy out to pick up the mattress, which they will donate to a charity. The charity part is awesome.
Let me know if you're interested in one. I have a $50 off referral thing. I just got married (few weeks ago) so that would help us out a lot!
If Casper is too much, Tuft and Needle seems to be shaking things up too. It's more affordable and I've heard great things about it!
just got a $800 dollar deal on a decent mattress a year ago, so meh. would have jumped on this, as I'm on a double and will need to go to a king in next 4 years or so i think, but no need too now. figured if this is even crap, shoulda done 5 years and woulda worked :(
@kyle170 do you mean that I could order a mattress and end up getting a box that has money in it instead? as long as it's more money than I paid for the mattress, what do I care if it's loose or in rolls and bands?
Incredibly proud to help in your dismantling of the scummy mattress business. Looking forward to seeing the mailman's creativity fitting this one on my porch. Thank you for putting this one together guys.
@v Too late. Went ahead and just ordered a twin size to replace my current mattress. Nothing wrong with a grown ass man still sleeping on a twin is there?
This is great. Our mattress was already too old some years ago. It has gotten to the point where it's affecting our sleep. But we both hate shopping in general and we're particularly dreading mattress shopping because of the reasons noted by @JasonToon. For 150 bucks we can give this a try and if we don't like it we can give or throw it away. I showed the deal to my wife and she said something to the effect of "I guess we have to buy it." So there will be harmony on the mattress.
Something that's normally very expensive and a spectacular pain in the behind to buy, being offered in the impulse-buy price range... Tempting, man. Tempting.
So excited....I mean really excited.....was a no brainer...can't wait to get it.....went to order........NO QUEEN SIZE available. ....... Can you pull any strings oh mighty Meh ??????
@1wally1 I was able to buy the Queen at 11:15pm here in Texas, but I'm taking a risk whether it sits properly on my slat frame futon. If it doesn't work out I'll sell it to you.
@SSteve I think some of them play on the internet all day searching out video clips and photos. Job requirements must include "ability to quickly find and post bizarre internet content…"
I consider the pillow top mattress to be one of the biggest scams ever. Buying a pillow top is like buying only half a mattress. You can't turn the damn thing over. I know this has nothing to do with this mattress but I just had to get it out of my system.
@somf69@lark983 likely it will take several days to get back to full size and will probably outgas a nasty odor initially so just as well it will take few days to recover from being shrink wrapped.
Too late for us. We bought traditional mattresses yesterday. It turns out that a king size mattress does not fit up our stairs. Fortunately, my son had his weekly game night, so we had extra teenagers available. I put straps on the mattress. I guided the mattress up a ladder while four teenagers pulled it up to the balcony.
@Kidsandliz I doubt it, unless ABC has come a long way since I last watched it. They might be progressive enough for videos from a gay wedding, but I suspect they are still too prudish for a video with a visibly LGBT teenager. Also, nothing went wrong, so it wasn't funny.
Mine has been unboxed for about 24 hours, middle is at about 6 inches, sides are at 4 inches. Fingers crossed it doesn't turn out like this: http://tinyurl.com/p6of2hy
I'm documenting the re-poofening of mine. I actually unzipped the cover first thing; I figure the less pressure it has on it, the faster it will expand. After that, I set it up on one edge, hoping the pressure from the weight alone would aid in the expansion. I'm going to rotate it, as well. I included an "upskirt" of the mattress where it looks like there's a stubborn seam of memory foam. I'm convinced that beating the everloving christ out of it will help if nothing else, but so far it's been less than an hour and I've seen significant results from these steps alone.
@dvermilion I’m curious if you have any updated pics or a review. I need a new mattress at my summer place and was too late pulling the trigger on this. I’m wondering if I should pick one up if meh has them again.
@LadyLeela I threw some more images up in the Dropbox folder. Unzipping it helped with the unpoofening (mine seemed to be pretty much entirely unpoofed in a matter of 1 to 1.5 days). The weird creases (probably fold marks from packing/shipping) pretty much disappeared and only remained on the cover itself. I don't feel any inconsistencies in the mattress when laying on it, and I had a strange experience the other night where I woke up in the same position in which I fell asleep (I know I didn't move because typically I'll throw shit everywhere trying to get comfortable). As far as I'm concerned, this is a good investment if you don't have a lot of cash or just want a reasonably comfortable mattress to sleep on but sinking a fortune into it doesn't make sense.
@dvermilion thank you. I really appreciate the photos and the review! It looks like it will meet my needs. I will only be sleeping on it about two dozen times a year and the idea of sleeping in one position all night is a little intriguing. I'm a violent sleeper.
@dvermilion I had the exact same experience the first time I slept on my Tempurpedic. I recall waking up and realizing I hadn't moved at all and thinking, "Wow, this is worth every penny." Of course it was a lot more pennies than yours.
@Cinoclav It was definitely a vindicating experience given my trepidation about rolling the dice on something that we've all basically been trained to believe is supposed to cost a lot ("How can you put a pricetag on your health!?").
Got it, has the typical horrific "New Memory Foam Smell". Decided to make good use of the pool table and let it inflate/de-stink there for the next few days. Other than that it feels rather comfortable and is higher quality than I initially expected.
Mine showed up yesterday. It's currently downstairs poofening and maybe off-gassing. I didn't really smell any chemically smell. But I think I have a sub-par sense of smell. Luckily my wife is out of town for a few days. She's the one who's sensitive to smells. If it had an initial stink it probably would have been a deal breaker. The niece and nephew are coming for a visit tonight. They'll probably want to sleep on it due to the "mattress on the floor in the den" attraction mentioned earlier by someone. I have to decide if I'm going to be the nice uncle and say yes or the petulant brat and say "You can't sleep on it before I do!"
@chrismckinney I concur. I do like that it stays cooler than the other foam mattress we had. We dropped it on top of our old mattress, seemed to help with the weak middle, but now I have to jump to get in bed. Probably end up getting rid of it eventually.
got the california king. sleeping on it for about a week. feels good bro. very firm. surface not luxurious behind sheet. meh + a cheap quilted poly fill topper = luxurious. 2 day prime saved the day. too bad they couldnt do the same for woot.
Got the Cali King myself. Was larger than I thought I needed but this has been a great buy for me. I'm loving the amount of room and the memory form is quite comfy IMO. Thanks Meh!
We've been sleeping on ours for over a month now. We're very happy with it. The dog seems to like it a lot more than our previous, traditional-style mattress. Before, when we got in bed, he'd jump up on the bed with us and then hop off after a couple minutes to sleep on the floor. Now, he stays on the bed for a half hour or more before going to sleep on the floor. So I recommend the mattress for comfort. But if you have a dog and ever want to be intimate with your partner again, you should think twice.

@mediocrebot A little more info from the manufacturer. http://www.boydspecialtysleep.com/assets/Specs/408-Specs.pdf (They spelled "complement" wrong.)
@mediocrebot $500 - $900 at Vermont Furniture & Mattress Depot. Don't know if that includes shipping. http://www.vtmattressdepot.com/Boyd_408_Gel_Rest_Gel_Memory_Foam_Mattress_p/408.htm
@mediocrebot Package size?
Something went terribly wrong... yeah it was the bed foam
MEH
Sorry everyone.
Dammit, @studerc! Stop breaking the site!
@PurplePawprints my bad. Totally fucked up right there.
@studerc at least you got the video up this time.
Do we get the meh sheet?
@rileyper pretty sure meh sheets would be made out of burlap...or just no sheets. I mean you know, whatever.
at least it wasn't a speaker dock
who gives a shit
@peas a generous dung beatle
@peas who gives a sheet *ftfy
If I hadn't just spent $600 on a custom-made mattress for my motorhome I would jump on this deal.
@mr_crash_davis you spent more on a mattress than your home
I waited an extra 20+ minutes for THIS? Meh.
Damn this is actually tempting. Just got a new bedframe and need to get a new queen size foam matress. $150 sure beats the 400-500 I was looking at on amazon, but these are only 8". They do have the gel though and "cooling channels" so they should help with the temperature issues.

Good luck!
I wish they would mention how firm these things are.
just got a $800 dollar deal on a decent mattress a year ago, so meh. would have jumped on this, as I'm on a double and will need to go to a king in next 4 years or so i think, but no need too now. figured if this is even crap, shoulda done 5 years and woulda worked :(
how the hell are they going to ship these and NOT loose money?
@kyle170 It's foam. It will probably be rolled into a tight-ass...roll.
@kyle170 do you mean that I could order a mattress and end up getting a box that has money in it instead? as long as it's more money than I paid for the mattress, what do I care if it's loose or in rolls and bands?
@kyle170 or it could be one of those drop shipping sorta like wayfair where the manufacturer ships it and not meh
Country of origin?
@powerpuff3 Some guy here says China. http://www.themattressunderground.com/mattress-forum/general-mattresses/4176-looking-to-buy-new-mattress.html#4185
Does this sit on my box spring?
Crap, a serious question I am sorry!
As someone without a box spring...I'd like to know this too.
If you buy it and put it on your box spring it does.
These are being sold at Walmart under the name Rest Right, the twin sells for $375
@somf69 Do you have a link for that? I put that into the search engine for walmart and got 3000+ hits even when I put it in quotes.
@somf69 never mind I found if I searched on "Rest Rite IMGEL408TW Gel Lux 4000 - 8 inch Memory Foam Mattress" then they all came up
@somf69 Walmart selling from UnbeatableSale.com. http://search1.unbeatablesale.com/?D=rest+rite&Nty=1&N=0&Dk=0&Ntt=rest+rite
Incredibly proud to help in your dismantling of the scummy mattress business. Looking forward to seeing the mailman's creativity fitting this one on my porch. Thank you for putting this one together guys.
Oh man, I almost spent 299 on a memory foam mattress 2 weeks ago but figured i could find one cheaper from woot or (fingers crossed) meh. Meant to be!
@CowboyDann Mehnt* to be.
The most truthful write up, ever.
Anywhere.
Hmm, now I just need to find a cheap full size box spring to go along with it.
@cjrhoades Free-20 dollars on craigslist all day long.
@CowboyDann Ehhh, I don't think so.
@cjrhoades the side of bed bugs comes FREE! that's a good deal, right?!
@v Too late. Went ahead and just ordered a twin size to replace my current mattress. Nothing wrong with a grown ass man still sleeping on a twin is there?
@v Since it's a box spring, I'd say you're relatively safe from bed bugs... Unless the person was sleeping directly on their boxspring.
@BillLehecka hmmmm, you do know how bed bugs work right? if they can reach it they spread on it like wildfire.... yuck..
@badmnky mainly like to live in the mattress... Lots of nooks and crannies there.
@BillLehecka Let's find out! you go first. :)
@cjrhoades Nothing wrong with a grown-ass man still sleeping on a twin is there?
@SSteve VERY NICE HIGH FIVE REFERENCE STILL RELEVANT
A bit suspicious of there being no reviews on Overstock or Wal-Mart for this product...
@Spectracide Take a chance, live a little. You only live once!
This is great. Our mattress was already too old some years ago. It has gotten to the point where it's affecting our sleep. @SSteve I bet there will be "harmony on the mattress" wink wink.
noble-rested-rum. The orderbot must have seen that my answer to the desert island question was "a full bar."
@ehershey Say no more, say no more.
Something that's normally very expensive and a spectacular pain in the behind to buy, being offered in the impulse-buy price range... Tempting, man. Tempting.
For my daughter, who's needed one for quite some time😳 vigorous-motley-road
Trigger finger is itchy, needed a new memory foam topper but didn't plan on seeing a whole mattress spring out of nowhere. What do I dooooo?!?
Trigger pulled. Hay-seuss help me.
woot. snore. zzzzz.
Very tempting. But will wait till tomorrow to decide.
I'm a bigger gentleman... I'm thinking 8" is too small to hold up my frame for an extended period of time. It'll flatten in no time.
BTW, where can we find that awesome Meh blanket?!?! I'd want that.
@BillLehecka future Meh deal
Do you deliver to Canada? >.>
I do believe that these originate from China. As I franticly searched the web for reviews, I came across a few mentionings of the item number and you can definitely tell that it was translated poorly; from Chinese to English. I'm asian, I would know! The "review" did not help me in deciding to buy or not to buy(http://memory-foams.com/6156-rest_rite_imgel408tw_gel_lux_4000__8_inch_memory_foam_mattress__twin.aspx#.VBVpgWRdWb8). I'll decide in the morning.
So excited....I mean really excited.....was a no brainer...can't wait to get it.....went to order........NO QUEEN SIZE available. ....... Can you pull any strings oh mighty Meh ??????
@1wally1 Same here. Looks like I have to put out the fire at the mattress store now. Grr...
@1wally1 Maybe they're all getting shipped to Korea.
@ardgedee even thought it's not speak docks?
@seung16 though* speaker* WTH..... Yes.. I am Korean..
@1wally1 I was able to buy the Queen at 11:15pm here in Texas, but I'm taking a risk whether it sits properly on my slat frame futon. If it doesn't work out I'll sell it to you.
Does anyone even work at Meh on Sunday ?
@1wally1 Nope. You'll find meh folk playing croquet and watching antiques roadshow today.
@1wally1 organizing sock drawer.
@1wally1 The correct question is "Does anyone even work at meh?" (I say that in the most envious way possible.)
@SSteve I think some of them play on the internet all day searching out video clips and photos. Job requirements must include "ability to quickly find and post bizarre internet content…"
@Kidsandliz That's mainly my job.
@JonT I figured as much - that post was tongue in cheek serious LOL
@Kidsandliz If that's the case your interview process should consist of a time-trial. I'd beat every single one of you.
It's a bit ironic to me how little time and money many people want to invest in researching something that we spend 1/3 of our lives on.
MotherFATHER! Out of Queen size...double dog dammit. 1st UCLA beats the Horns but doesn't cover and then now this...
I consider the pillow top mattress to be one of the biggest scams ever. Buying a pillow top is like buying only half a mattress. You can't turn the damn thing over.
I know this has nothing to do with this mattress but I just had to get it out of my system.
@Teripie Yeah I only recently realized that about my mattress, when it started to sag in the middle. Whoops!
How is the package size? Will it be packed tight?
@lark983 I predict vacuum sealed and folded about 20 times to fint in a bubble envelope
@somf69 @lark983 likely it will take several days to get back to full size and will probably outgas a nasty odor initially so just as well it will take few days to recover from being shrink wrapped.
@Kidsandliz basically this. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lv8lfl304g553e3/AADXZV9m_2owAwFRzSMzl632a
No Georgia Red. : /
@darksaber99999 and for that alone...meh
you snooze you lose. was going to buy 2 twin size this morning and only Cal-King are left. shame on me
@somf69 You could always cut it in half to make two twins.
@phatmass just like a king-size person!
A xenu reference, the cutting edge of humor
Ah, damn. Was gonna pick up 3 of these today. Put some more up, meh!
@bobhobard
@harrison @bobhobard
Your mattress copy is a perfect and concise summation of the most corrupt American industry outside of Washington DC. Well done.
No Georgia Red. . for that alone, meh.
@hamjudo This has potential...might need a video for America's funniest home videos...
@Kidsandliz I doubt it, unless ABC has come a long way since I last watched it. They might be progressive enough for videos from a gay wedding, but I suspect they are still too prudish for a video with a visibly LGBT teenager. Also, nothing went wrong, so it wasn't funny.
California King dimensions are 72"x82" which is 2" shorter than standard.
@lostcost I guess you'll just have to have more midgets at your orgy.
Beds that remember the sweat of previous visits... I can't think of any reason I'd need a big piece of sweatfoam.
I got my mattress today. I'll initiate it tonight and let you guys know how it goes.
@phatmass stand back, I'm initiating the mattress!
@JonT Oh, so many jokes here. Do I really want to cross that line though? No, I won't. My mom raised me to be a lady.
@bluedog
Got mine today. Came rolled up in a box. I'm waiting for it to poof back up but I'll be sleep regardless
I can keep this updated if people think it might be useful.

@dvermilion How complete is your goatse archive?
@editorkid the. most. complete.
@dvermilion I’m curious if you have any updated pics or a review. I need a new mattress at my summer place and was too late pulling the trigger on this. I’m wondering if I should pick one up if meh has them again.

Poofening? Repoofening? Is that painful?
@pooflady feels good man. lady.
This thing is terrible - after 3 days it is weak in the middle and way to thin - even my 95 pound wife hits the slat frame I have it on.
@chrismckinney I concur. I do like that it stays cooler than the other foam mattress we had. We dropped it on top of our old mattress, seemed to help with the weak middle, but now I have to jump to get in bed. Probably end up getting rid of it eventually.
