@eeterrific@medz@thebigtverberg ROFL. I dunno about you, but when I charge my wireless electronics I like to do it from across the room with a long cable.
@alacrity I’m seeing a lot of complaints in the Amazon reviews about the app and how you must create a Bose account AND give location permissions to the app. WTF? Why does Bose need this for their headphones and Sony’s app works fine without all that? Screw Bose for the invasion of privacy just to use their product.
@aarond12 meh… an account is req’d to link the specific unit to date of service and activates the warranty- BOSE has always covered their stuff honorably and their ass accordingly. Location data correlates to engineering data if/when the unit fails.
@ShotgunX You do know how things fall off the truck, don’t you?? Is there a relationship between Texas making it law to open carry and this “falling off the truck”?
Bose gets a lot of shit. But I bought a pair of their older noise canceling headphones because I needed to do a daily call with a team in India while I was on the train every day. They were a game changer, and have held up to daily use for several years now. I don’t take the train any more, and I don’t have that daily call any more. But working from home, these do am amazing job of drowning out the kids in the background. When mine eventually die, I will happily spend a few hundred dollars on a new pair.
@Fuzzalini
The Anker Soundcore Q20 are pretty good. Long battery life, comfy, and NC works ok. Honestly, the Libratones that Meh sells have better NC, but they aren’t very comfortable.
I’ll ask a stupid question, how tight are these against your head? I have a problem with ones that aren’t light weight and death grip my head. Hate to drop down the money on these and have essentially bought another torture device. I use Steelseries Arctis 7s for the moment but they do start hurting me fairly quickly.
While the ear cups are still using a comfortable padding, they’re stiffer than the previous cushions found on the QC35 II. This is great when it comes to isolating outside noise, but wearing them at my local cafe for a few hours while typing this up (yeah, I’m that guy) resulted in my ears getting pretty hot.
@Tiamat114 Not nearly as tight as my Sennheiser HD 280s. Which aren’t really that tight, either, but can get uncomfortable after a bit. The Bose were a gift and I really like them. Not sure I’d even pay $400 for the them, but better than the cheaper Sony NC phones I used to have by far.
@jason_fox@50 The price for me is entirely worth it if they won’t hurt as much. I have a c-spine injury so we are talking my current ones start to hurt me in minutes. It well and truly sucks cause I much prefer over the ear for gaming and streaming compared to buds or just a normal speaker.
@50@jason_fox@Tiamat114 Not that I want to take business away from Meh, but even CNETs review someone mentioned above says their other model the Quiet Comfort 35 II is better. You might want to look into those. These are the pretty model, those are the comfortable model.
@lehigh
would be more likely to buy these in Black. I have a tendency to get white headphones/earbuds etc. really nasty due to the environment I tend to wear them (outside mowing etc…). Wonder how well the above listed skinit covers stay on.
Anyone know what happens when the rechargeable battery doesn’t anymore? It seems to me I read that the battery can’t be replaced and one must send in the old set and purchase a replacement at “a reduced price”. I can’t seem to find any solid info on this. TIA
So. Has anyone tried both these and the Libratone On Ear headphones? I have the Libratones, and really like them, and am wondering if the Bose are as superior as the marketing/price makes it seem.
If I hadn’t snagged a pair of (new) silver QC35-II a couple of years ago at a 38% discount ($218), I’d jump on these. The Bose Top-Of-the-Line is just slightly below the Sony TOL in noise-cancelling, but the Bose are tops for comfort and useful features. These are great cans at a good price, but some pro reviews say the QC35’s are slightly better…
I’d like to give a shout-out for evocative story telling in this passage:
Sure, maybe they won’t be a big hit with the guy who takes selfies wearing Oakleys in the driver’s seat of his Dodge Ram and who just wants the rest of us to “do the research” and “learn a little history.”
I am actually quite surprised to see the price drop. I bought them for 350, the lowest I have seen them go for is 299, so a real price drop I don’t know what’s the catch though
Does anyone know how these are shipped? USPS, FedEx/UPS?
Update: Nevermind. I read several complaints here about the shipping company, and I think I’ll pass. I don’t have the strength to chance anyone to deliver a damn $279 item to me.

I can’t hear you!
How long is the audio cable?
@medz 1 bluetooth.
@medz 42 inches
@eeterrific seriously?
@medz yep
@medz BOSE 700 SPECS
Type: Over-ear
Battery life: Up to 20 hrs
Weight: 8.96 ounces
Cable length: 42 inches (audio cable) 20 inches (USB-C)
Bluetooth version: 5.0
Bluetooth range: Up to 33 ft (10m)
ANC: Yes
@eeterrific thanks. Too short. Pass.
@eeterrific @medz
That’s why you’re passing? The 3.5mm cord is the least expensive component here, you could replace it for less than 10$.
@eeterrific @thebigtverberg If they skimp on cord length, where else did they cut corners?
@eeterrific @medz @thebigtverberg ROFL. I dunno about you, but when I charge my wireless electronics I like to do it from across the room with a long cable.
@eeterrific @medz @thebigtverberg
Given that these are primarily marketed as Bluetooth headphones, the fact they even have an audio cable is a bonus…
@011899988199911
Audio cable ≠ charging cable
@011899988199911 Audio cable not charge cable, derp. Don’t try to charge your device with an audio cable. You are not smart.
@medz You can find a 10 ft audio cable on Amazon for $5.59 https://www.amazon.com/Extension-Braided-Zerist-Tangle-Free-Headphones/dp/B07QF1VRPB/
@TimW I know, right?! For $250, you would think Bose could include one of those. Nope. Pass.
Bose?! I feel like you are cheating on all the other meh sponsored brands. Nothing meh about Bose
@Num1Zero
Can’t play the highs.
Can’t play the lows.
Looks like someone
Bought a Bose.
@Num1Zero @weatherseed
Sounds like sheet and don’t last all day,
Looks like someone bought Beats by Dre.
Ok, who wants to volunteer to buy these for me?
All offers welcome.
/giphy wimpy popeye
@f00l sure,wynaut?
@Yoda_Daenerys
You are my champion!
Even noise is cancelled now
@awk You mean these are only good for people who are “WOKE”??
/giphy woke
@awk these are WHITE, the oppressors of noise!
as much as I’d like to say something silly or snarky- I can’t.
these are that good.
@alacrity I’m seeing a lot of complaints in the Amazon reviews about the app and how you must create a Bose account AND give location permissions to the app. WTF? @aarond12 meh… an account is req’d to link the specific unit to date of service and activates the warranty- BOSE has always covered their stuff honorably and their ass accordingly. Location data correlates to engineering data if/when the unit fails.
if any of that bothers you, don’t buy 'em.
it ain’t complicated, man.
@aarond12 @alacrity
Sure.
@aarond12 @alacrity no account is required and you don’t have to ever download the app if you don’t want to do any personalization of the device.
Hopefully these will end up getting tossed into future IRK’s as often as the dreaded TrackR Pixels currently are.
/image fingers crossed
@IndifferentDude I would say I agree, except I have yet to get a TrackR in any od my IRKs. Knock on wood that i did not just jinx myself.
Did the packaging get all banged up when these fell off the truck?
@ShotgunX Nah, the Meh buyers never let them hit the ground.
@hchavers @ShotgunX True story…
@ShotgunX Don’t expect delivery by Christmas… Bose will be seeking legal remedies, I am certain. Where’s my toothbrush?
@ShotgunX You do know how things fall off the truck, don’t you?? Is there a relationship between Texas making it law to open carry and this “falling off the truck”?
I almost didn’t click the meh button, since these aren’t meh! But I did anyway
If I didn’t already own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3s, WH-1000XM4s, and the Jabra 85ts, I’d be all over this.
Great deal on a great pair of wireless ANC cans. Good job Meh!
I can’tcel buy these, they’re just too damn Bosepensive.
is there a mic?
@Yoda_Daenerys
@hchavers @Yoda_Daenerys But is there a Mick?
@hchavers @Trinityscrew @Yoda_Daenerys
yep… if you play the right music!
@hchavers i’ll take that as a 'YES", thx
I hate the Bluetooth delay on calls. That quarter second is just enough time for someone to talk over you. But… BOSE!!!
Wait… BOSE … on meh.com?
#checks browser address bar#… Nope, that’s right…Wow, for a minute there I thought I had mistyped the address…
Anyone know how these compare on SQ to the Verisonix wired headphones?
@caffeineguy
Not knowing anything about the set you mention
Wired always has the potential for better fidelity and detail
No Highs; No Lows; Must be Bose? Is that still a thing?
@caffeineguy Not for their headphones which are quite legit.
@caffeineguy According to the reviews, messy highs and weak lows.
Cheapest I’ve ever seen these. Had to jump on it.
/giphy holistic-abounding-bedroom
Nope. Too rich for my blood.
Bose gets a lot of shit. But I bought a pair of their older noise canceling headphones because I needed to do a daily call with a team in India while I was on the train every day. @SoCalChrisW You mean the headphones, right? Not the kids?
@SoCalChrisW How can these headphones drown your kids? They don’t even have thumbs.
@SoCalChrisW @Trinityscrew
There are good reasons why some species eat their young. Maybe drown and not eat the kids because SoCalChrisW is a vegetarian and not a cannibal?
C|net review…
based on the original $400 price.
This price is cheaper than eBay, and I trust meh.
@2many2no
…and I trust meh.
I have never seen those words written in that sequence before. At least not sarcastically.
@thebigtverberg Compared to eBay or Wish, meh is much more reliable. I’ve gotten more fake products from Amazon than meh.
@2many2no @thebigtverberg you mean NOT not sarcastically.
@2many2no @GirlPleeeeze @thebigtverberg
@2many2no @GirlPleeeeze
Yes, that. Thanks for the correction.
Ooh fancy!
White Bose headphones!!
PASS
I’m sure with a little research, there is something better for less money. Bose does make good headphones, but they’re mostly a marketing company.
@Fuzzalini 100%

@Tiamat114
Not a direct answer, but this review talked about fitment a bit.

@50 @Fuzzalini @jason_fox I’ll have to look into those then, thank you.
The company skinit will let you make it whatever color you want for $15
@CrapHopeThisIsn
Let me help you…
Here
Meh, thank you for giving me no more than a week to feel smugly satisfied about my purchase of the QC35 II’s during the last Mehrathon! https://meh.com/forum/topics/bose-quiet-comfort-35-ii-wireless-bluetooth-headphones-black-or-silver
@lehigh
would be more likely to buy these in Black. I have a tendency to get white headphones/earbuds etc. really nasty due to the environment I tend to wear them (outside mowing etc…). Wonder how well the above listed skinit covers stay on.
@lehigh
How much were they going for?
@Larry1977 @lehigh $199

On ear headphones hurt after the first 30 min of wearing.
Meh Model number includes chicken soap…

So basically, everything else I’ve bought on Meh has sucked.

@ruthwik081 i missed out yesterday. What was the price drop out of curiosity?
@placecm @ruthwik081 $249 according to Mehstalker.
special-woolly-paladin
In the past I had OE2’s and QC15’s which were all wired headphones. I’m hoping the Bluetooth will perform just as well.
@Larry1977
FWIW It gets well reviewed.
Does anyone know how these are shipped? USPS, FedEx/UPS?
Update: Nevermind. I read several complaints here about the shipping company, and I think I’ll pass. I don’t have the strength to chance anyone to deliver a damn $279 item to me.
@0x906 most of my Meh deliveries lately have been via FedEx with no issues for what it is worth.
My budget for “high end” headphones is $50-75
For “Meh.com high end” $25
Amazons only $20 more and theyre black!
@kjschweitzer
Are you talking about the “renewed” ones? Nothing wrong with that, but it should be noted that they are USED, vs. Meh’s pair being NEW.
I have missed this deal, I want this
@sushant
here you go: (still available on the Morningsave sister site…)
@sushant
Also this one: (at Sidedeal)
Think they are cheaper today than Meh!
Deal of the day for Prime Members: Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 — Over Ear, Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with Built-In Microphone for Clear Calls & Alexa Voice Control, Soapstone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X5F81JS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FQ2RWEYS94ZG2SPZAFR5
I love these, but one ear stopped working and Bose says there is no warranty coverage!
@dude Look at the top of this page- warranty one year Morningsave. Write in to Meh support- they’ll take care of you.
