Yea, my problem was that my credit card company lists my apartment number first.
If you live in an apartment set your shipping address as you would expect it but then for the billing address, swap the first line and the second line. That's what did the trick for me.
I had "123 Fake Street #456". I split it both ways, neither worked. Le sigh. Normally I use a card with a different/simpler address but it's in the mail.
The "bank" theory reminded me, I have a fourth card. That one worked. I'll blame BofA, though Meh must be using some crazy-ass strict card validation.
I had this same issue for weeks and I did what @tardy said and it did the trick. In the first line I put the # symbol instead of apt. before the number.
Same here. I called my bank and had them look up the exact address they had tied to my card so I could enter the billing address exactly. I've actually never had anyone else verify the billing address online, but I guess that doing so isn't a bad thing. (O'course you can't actually deliver to that address, but OK, at least it works now.)
I haven't had problems with billing address here, but when it's been a problem on other sites, entering the address exactly as printed on the bill they mailed me, or as shown on my bank's online account (including capitalization) has fixed it.

Example:
Shipping
Address 1 = 123 Fake Street
Address 2 = Apt. 456
Billing
Address 1 = Apt. 456
Address 2 = 123 Fake Street
@TaRDy thanks, that was helpful. it worked.

Having this same issue. Tried to switch the Apartment number around with not luck. Any other guesses for a fix? I'll just try later I guess.
@tcbowen try emailing halp@meh.com
@tcbowen by any chance is your "failing" card from BofA?
