That article shows Sarah Bernhard peonies and it brings up a grievance of mine - I bought and planted one years ago, supposedly, but it’s nowhere near that vivd pink. So it had the wrong tag, I guess. Still pretty, but a very pale pink.
@Kyeh Those are beautiful! Have you had your soil tested? I’m guessing with your climate out there, your soil is probably more alkaline, and I know bloom color in pink dogwoods (& other flowering shrubs, like hydrangeas, i think?) can be affected by soil acidity. Pink dogwoods can turn white over time if the soil becomes too alkaline, so it might be worth checking that. It may have to be done gradually, i don’t think peonies like it too acidic, but since they generally live a long time, it would probably be a worthwhile project. I’m definitely not a gardener, though, so you’d have to do some research to see what’s recommended.
