In general the beach is my happy place.
Depending on surf size I enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, lazily floating, standing around and bobbing over the waves or body surfing/boogie boarding. Games of Tejo or tossing around the frisbee, sitting under the canopy and reading, or just staring out at the water are more pleasant pass-times. I also like walking down the beach with SWMBO, looking for shells, exploring tide pools and looking at the scenery/shoreline… preferably with a beverage in hand.
This is very dependent on the type of beach. A lake beach is great for swimming and can be good for picnics. Northern Pacific Ocean beaches are good for walking along and taking pictures, but I wouldn’t want to swim without a wetsuit, and near the coast where I live, it’s often waaay too windy to effectively picnic.
Leave and find some place with more trees.
Allow those who like the sand and sun enjoy it.
Metal detecting, sand sifting.
Drink.
Nude beaches!
Observe the new swimsuit fashion trends.
Not be there if it’s a popular beach. I want a place where I can do some snorkeling. (And I desperately need a properly-fitted mask.)
Look for pretty shells
Float in the surf with a big blow up friend, and then nap on said friend’s back.
Fill one of these waterproof bags with blood and dump it in the surf where everyone is swimming and watch the fun.

YIKES!
Stay inside, where the air conditioning is.

Turn around and go back home, hehe.

why did I just read picnic as panic?!?
@ragingredd No need to panic as long as you have your towel.
@werehatrack Never leave home without a towel!
