Having seen Mr. Byrne perform in person, the man is a master of his craft. He does not mess around, and his band and chorus singers were tight.
Recommended. There are few performers that even the untrained observer in the audience can just see, hear, and feel how effortless it us for them to demonstrate their mastery.
Stevie Ray Vaughn, Annie Lennox, Jimmy Page, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Prince, and David Bryne are a few at that level I’ve been privileged to see first-hand. Legends.
There isn’t a Talking Heads song I don’t like, so picking a favorite is tough. The songs in Stop Making Sense are practically their own songs separate from the original versions. That film is perfect in every way.
Found a Job is #1 by a slim margin over so many others. Love the Heads.
Interestingly enough, one of my least favorite of their hits, “Take Me to the River,” was my beacon when I moved to the musical wasteland of the Midwest in '84. WOXY, the station mother warned you about, was my lifeline to music I wanted to listen too, and when I heard that song in my scan of top 40 and country stations …
See him drink. From a bottle.
See him eat. From a plate.
Cute. Cute. As a button.
Don’t you want to make him. Stay up late.
And we’re having fun. With no money.
What?! No Wild Wild Life??? Come on, Meh.
@jsh139, good one too
All of them.
@cinoclav This!
Don’t make me choose! Augh!
This Must Be The Place is so good! I might go with Found a Job, or Seen and Not Seen, or anything off Remain in Light, really.
I mean, come on, human beings haven’t yet done enough to deserve the gift of Houses in Motion.
@UncleVinny Great set at NO JF 2018.
I don’t know who that is. Should I listen to these songs?
@DVDBZN Yes.
@DVDBZN Yes
Why do I want to listen to MORE news pundits? This election season!!!
Life During Wartime. C’mon.
@cpietra This ain’t no disco.
@cpietra 100%. Live version even more so.
…and you may ask yourself “how did I get here?”
@chienfou this is not my beautiful house…this is not my beautiful wife!
@chienfou @tweezak Letting the day go by …
@2many2no This is a favorite of mine, though it is a cover. I’d play this song over and over when I was a teenager.

So many good songs, but I believe I have to go for “Life During Wartime”. The beat keeps me bouncing off the walls.
