@IndifferentDude sometimes going it solo is more relaxing. Don’t have to worry about your partner’s needs. Just take nature’s sleeping pill and go to sleep.
Wood sculpture. Finally experimenting with chainsaws. It was that or start back in with stone. Love it, but wanted something new. Will probably get back there down the line. Got a nice chunk of obsidian I need to work at some point.
We call them Cuddle Puddles. Two or more of my grandbabies snuggled in my arms, my bed full is great. We tell ‘dad jokes’, riddles, talk about school, their future dreams, friends, life.
@Chakolate I am Nana to several not born to me. Come on over!!! My favorite Cuddle Puddle was when the Christmas catalogs came and we all gathered pen in hand, to make their Christmas lists. Then they stopped printing the toy catalogs.
Playing with my pups while I still had them. They knew several games so we could switch between them and play for almost two hours before they got tired of it. “Where’s Mommy!” was the best but they would catch on after about 5 minutes so we switched to ‘What is that moving under the blanket!’ or playing soccer with a treat-dispensing ball, or when weather cooperated, go play in fresh snow. That was awesome.
Books can be OK too but I’ve got so many recent ones in kindle format that its hard to get away from the screen.
Painting is probably my favorite. Also designing the things to make with the lasers. And cooking. And gardening. And reading. And swimming. And playing instruments. But that’s about it.
Read.
@pooflady
Yes
@pooflady
…
…
@pooflady I use an e-reader. Still a screen
@evilstan60 I’d consider that reading.
Beat me to it!-Read. Listening to music is good too.

We will just have to agree to disagree on that one…
Throwing knives at the target in my back yard.
@sammydog01 yeah but then you need to bring your mother in-law home and that’s an awkward car ride…
Cooking-drinking.
It’s really all one activity.
/youtube a little wine for the cook
@2many2no
Dat mo bettah. I Gar-on-tee.
Also read.
Music a close second.
Walk and listen to music
Screen free, as in no TV, Computer, or Phone screen? Perish the thought!!!
Get outside and enjoy nature or the beach! Preferably with a drink in hand.
Play guitar, think about other guitars to buy, read. (I listen to music the majority of my time anyhow, so it’s not an “instead”)
Screen-free lets in too many mosquitos.
And sometimes alien cats, which my dog then takes it on herself to remedy.

NGL a nap. That’s it. Peaceful sleep.
@milstarr The header for this topic agrees with you.
My favorite way to unwind is carving wood !!
@Bettyr Have any photos for us?
@Bettyr Is that a euphemism?
@Bettyr @macromeh
…in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?
Round 2 its. You know all the little projects you plan to do when you get around to it.
Make/build something. Bonus for soldering required.
Knitting. I can put myself nearly in a trance.

@dyounghbic Ooh, I want you to be my grandperson.

@dyounghbic Not sure I would fit in: I’m 69. I am (honorary) grandma to a young autistic man, been caring for him part-time since he was two.
Still, I wish you had been around when I needed a grandma.
@Chakolate theres always room for an extra grandma too. Bless you for bein gramma to a young man who needs one. Blessings flow both ways.
One more… back roads, alone with sunroof open on a fast car, Rod Stewart or John Mellencamp blasting, no cops.
@dyounghbic Forever young!
@zinimusprime as long as there are old Motown records ❤
Reading. So many great books…
Reading, unless I need something more physical.
Conjugal activity with my spouse (unless I’ve been a dink)
Drink a little drink. Smoke a little smoke. Love on the furbabies!
Lately it’s been driving home at night with nobody else in the road and listing to nothing but peace and quite. Sounds boring but it’s quit nice.
Take the dogs for a hike in the woods behind my house. Last week we saw 6 elk.
Painting AND crafting. Or gardening. Or going to the zoo…eventually.
A good book, or even a bad one, and a good cat or two. Or four.
