@paulcarlucci A couple weeks ago I bought a rhubarb pie from a woman at the Saturday market. I felt guilty admitting it surpassed my mother’s pie as the best pie I have ever had. Mind you my mother is no slouch. When she was in high school she got 2nd place behind a professional chef in a pie baking competition so she knows her stuff.
Apple Cranberry
no, wait…
Strawberry Chiffon
Umm, actually
Hot apple pie with excellent vanilla ice cream on top
except when
excellent pumpkin with home made whipped cream…
If you didn’t vote rhubarb you’ve never had rhubarb. And I’m not talking that strawberry-rhubarb either. Just straight, plain, nothing else added rhubarb pie.
Lemon meringue, followed by key lime, followed by cherry.
I really like sour things, and I love all kinds of pie. I’ll eat a classic apple or a peach. I’ll eat chicken or steak pie. Just don’t give me any of that top-crust-only nonsense and you’re good.
I’ve never had rhubarb in pie, only in other baked goods. I can assume it’s good. I aim to buy some and make a strawberry rhubarb pie of my own.
@harveydanger Save the strawberries for your ice cream. Just diced rhubarb, sugar, pats of butter, and flour (for thickening) in a prebaked shell. I usually use a lattice top crust sprinkled with a little bit of sugar.

Chocolate Satin, Crack Pie, or Blueberry Whip Cream (where the whipped cream is under the blueberries)…all so good, all underrepresented. If I didn’t have “other” as a choice, rhubarb would be tops.
My first job as a 15-year-old was at a Furr’s cafeteria. They had a wonderful thing (and I wouldn’t say that about any of their other food) called the Millionaire Pie - it had whipped cream, pineapple, pecans or walnuts, not sure which - maybe some other ingredients.
It was DIVINE! But I love many kinds of .
Boston cream
@kittykat9180 oh shit you’re right!
@kittykat9180
I’ll take one of those and one of each of the rest too, thanks!
Coconut cream.
@iluvmingos I would say my mom’s made-from-scratch banana cream pie, but I haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying one of those for over 20 years.
@macromeh I was actually torn between coconut cream and banana cream, but my Grandma makes a really good coconut cream.
@iluvmingos @macromeh
I was gonna say banana cream pie. I think I might make one this weekend.
I personally believe that amazing pecan pie such as that made by my from-scratch grandmother is most likely to deliciously put one into a sugar coma.

@f00l made with Agave nector instead is a little less sweet, and diabetic friendly.
@f00l My Granddad liked his pecan pie so sweet you’d have to “serve it with a scoop of ice cream to cut the sweetness.”
Where are cherry and blueberry?
@jmoor783 left off on purpose to get you to comment. Looks like it worked like a charm.
Pizza
Banana Creme

George: “Blackberry boysenberry.”
Jerry: “Boysenberry huckleberry.”
George: “Huckleberry raspberry.”
Jerry: “Raspberry strawberry.”
George: “Strawberry cranberry.”
Jerry: “Peach.”
@MrMikenIkes
Where do boysenberrys and huckleberrys even grow? I’ve never seen them before?
Blubarb. Blueberry rhubarb. Since I don’t really care for blueberry unless it’s in pancakes I was surprised by this.
@katbyter Rhubarb makes many things better

I’m generally not a big fan of pecan pie, BUT my son makes a chocolate bourbon pecan pie that is absolutely out-of-this-world amazing
