In Houston in late May, there is no “outdoor chill space”.
However, the first time that I read the topic, I thought is said “chili”, and that caused me to spend a few moments trying to recall where we last had a good chilifest around here.
Considering I am in the throws of Cicada-magedon, + serving as nurse-maid to you know who the only answer is in the living room on the couch. Alternatively if Charlie gets his way, on the floor holding his bone so he can chew it. FYI the cone makes it impossible for him to hold it between his paws (and he shouldn’t anyway). So, rather than watch him push his bone across the floor getting frustrated I have been spending my evening sitting there, watching tv and holding his bone.
@Kyeh Theyve been in full force for a few weeks now. They are everywhere and sssooooo loud they make my ears ache. Also I have to dodge them in the yard. Not great at flying, like a drunk bumble bee, and even standing still they fly right into me!!!
Gazebo
@cengland0 I agree. Tragically, gazebo #1 was derechoed.
Gazebo #2? Heavy winds followed by heavy snow.
Gazebo #3? I may see if there’s enough intact from 1 and 2 to cobble a third together, but I’ll admit I’m discouraged.
The chest freezer on my back porch.
Back deck with a jacuzzi
Outdoors, what’s that?
The ice bucket on the back deck.
It depends on how relaxed I want to get!!!
My East facing covered patio. Good dawn awakening and cool evening unwinding.
Antarctica.
Very outdoor. Very chill.
@xobzoo Not enough trees for shade.
Floating in my pool
@cbatte This, but, in the water for me rather than floating, I want to be as submerged as possible.
@OnionSoup Most of my pool floats keep me partially in the water and I usually have an umbrella providing shade to make the Texas summers tolerable.
A beach in a foreign country known for its clear blue water.
Patio with my hammock and fire pit
In my hammock that is strung between two big maple trees at the edge of the yard.

On the boat or chilling in the water at the sandbar
Not the front yard or the back yard, but the secret third yard. The one with walls, a roof, floors and AC.

I know, your jealous…it’s pretty swanky
@tinamarie1974 OH, the cicadas have decended, huh?
That Charlie is one very lucky pup!

@tinamarie1974 Yikes, do you have some noise-canceling headphones?
@Kyeh i have a pair here for Daisy that I could use. As long as I stay away from the tree line it is not as piercing.

@tinamarie1974 I hope it doesn’t last long!
@Kyeh @tinamarie1974
Lucky you… If I recall correctly you are benefiting from both brood XIX and XIII.
@chienfou @Kyeh @tinamarie1974 Eerily, I have neither seen nor heard a single cicada this year.
@chienfou @Kyeh correct! I am both happy and sad it is raining today. Happy because the cicadas have gone silent and are not flying around.
Sad because Charlie’s cast cannot get wet and so extra careful preperations are required every time he wants to go outside.
