There’s 2 other marshmallow treats I thought should be in the poll. Rocky Road candy bars and Moon Pies. Both childhood favorites of mine. If you can find the more rare mint Rocky Roads, that’s really my favorite.
Well toasted (but def not burnt!) is the only way i can stomach a regular marshmallow. I even used to pick them out of my Lucky Charms as a kid. I voted for Fluffernutter (cuz salty/sweet), but it’s prob a tie with RKTs.
@brainmist Came here to say this. Never had the gingerbread ones but loved the lemonade roasted. Tasted like lemon meringue pie.
Bought a food torch just for peeps.
Why, if it has coconut, does it need artificial coconut flavor? My guess is that, rather than use decent coconut, they’ve used some industrial process cast-off coconut that’s had every bit of flavor extracted from it for some other product.
There are no good marshmallow treats. There are merely tolerable things which contain marshmallows, and then there are abominations, such as the Rice Krispies treats. S’mores are in the latter category.
@werehatrack Agreed. I’m not a fan of sweets that are nothing but textured sugar. (I’m looking at you, candy corn, peeps, etc. !) May as well just spoon sugar right out of the bowl.
@Kyeh they’re so good. I make a banana cake version that I fill with a peanut butter cream cheese and top with candied bacon. Of course we call them the king and my kids go….we’ll….bananas for them.
Plain Roasted Marshmallow. Toasted, not flambé.

Lightly golden brown toasted over a camp fire. Absolutely best way to eat a marshmallow.
Mallomars.

@yakkoTDI
That was my answer too.
Best thing made with marshmallows? Fudge.
@tweezak Actually I’ve never even had them but it seemed like an obvious choice.
Rice Krispy Treats FTW.
Torn between rice crispies fortified with vitamins and graham crackers loaded with taste.

Just a marshmallow on a stick and an open flame

Marshmallow peeps, toasted over a fire. If you do it just right, the sugar caramelizes. Best flavor is their sugar cookie/gingerbread one.
Plus you can mimic some screaming as they melt/roast/caramelize.

@brainmist @callow I think I found my peep-ole!
@callow Ooooh, I’ll have to try lemonade!

Yay for industrial food!
@Pufferfishy, you ever looked at the ingredients of banana chips? One of them is typically banana flavoring.

@macromeh @werehatrack And let’s not forget the ultimate form of pointless sugar, cotton candy.
I love a good Rice Krispie but it can’t be that store bought crap it has to be home made. I’ve also had some really good s’mores bars over the years.
@Star2236 The thing that saves RKTs must be the butter. As I always say, everything’s better with butter. (Thank you, Lipitor!)
Hi hat cupcake!
@sillyheathen Yummmmm!

@sillyheathen Wow! I’d love to try those - is that your own recipe?
Rice Krispie Smores.
@PocketBrain
Rice Krispie s’mores using KitKat as the chocolate.
How absurd can we make this…
Here’s an interesting kind of marshmallow:

Made from apples, a historic Russian treat:
@Kyeh I saw this also, have the apples ready to try it this weekend …
@stolicat Nice! I hope you’ll post a review and a picture!
