@macromeh oh my Lord. I went and had Pho for the first time a few weeks ago. All I could think was that it smelled like sheep shit. I grew up where there was someone that raised sheep, and it wasn’t a pleasant smell. My friend absolutely loved the Pho. I had a hard time choking it down.
If the accompaniment does not specifically have to go on top of the cracker, then I would also propose beer or wine, again depending upon the cracker and occasion.
If triscuts count as crackers, then slices of raw garlic with a sharp cheddar dipped in an olive oil-based hummus.

When I used to live overseas, I had access to very reasonably priced caviar. OK, fish roe, but caviar sounds classier. I loved my “caviar” with table water crackers.
Ritz cracker - thin slice of cheddar cheese, thin slice hard salami, thin slice cheese, then toasted in an oven or toaster oven for a few minutes
Ritz cracker - thin sliced (luncheon meat) ham wrapped around a thin slice of cream cheese with a dot of anchovy paste inside the wrap.
Ritz cracker - thin slice of mozzarella cheese, small dollop of pizza sauce, slice of pepperoni, and another thin slice of cheese, toasted in an oven.
Keebler club crackers (that have the slightly buttery taste). very light brush of olive oil or melted butter, and roasted garlic spread on them, then toast.
I don’t know what it’s made of but it’s delicious.
Another thing - this sounds like some recipe-on-the-box bullshit, but cream cheese and jam is actually really good on crackers. I recommend cloudberry if you can find it.
@haikiba Pub cheese is dangerously easy to make!
Try a small jar of Hot Pepper Jelly on top of cream cheese. The extra heat really adds to the flavor.
If you like crab, top a softened brick of cream cheese with 4 to 6 ounces of lump crab meat. Cover the crab with about a cup of Heinz Chili Sauce with has been mixed with the juice of half a small lemon and a tablespoon of good horseradish.
Serve it with sturdy crackers, like Triscuits. It was one of my Mom’s go-to easy to fix hors d’oeuvres when she threw a party. Diced chilled steamed Gulf shrimp worked well, too.
@glundqui Similarly, I like crackers with goat cheese and smoked salmon. You can use cucumber slices instead of crackers, but they are a bit slippery so harder to keep toppings on. If you are doing keto there’s always chicharrones. Also hardboiled egg halves.
@moondrake I eat chicharrones all the time - they’re great with my homemade queso. Haven’t thought of using eggs for dipping before… I’ll have to try that one.
Depends upon the specific cracker and accompaniment options at the time of intended consumption.
Peanut butter. Who wrote this poll anyway?
Ginger ale
Goat cheese, not just any cheese.
@heartny, you can’t really go wrong with any kind of cheese.
@kittykat9180 You can go wrong if you’re lactose intolerant
@heartny @kittykat9180
I practice lactose tolerance!
Um, no thanks. We used to have goats (kids raised them for 4H) - to me, goat cheese smells like goats. Not my favorite odor/taste.

I like all of those things depending on the cracker. But theres a cheese for every kind of cracker!! I looooove cheese!!!

Cheese is a good option, but so is beer or peanut butter.
(Poll has insufficient choices.)
Beer. Wine in a pinch.

Soup. But I’ll whine about not having wine as a choice too.
Cucumbers.
With goat cheese. and sauerkraut. and beer.

@haikiba try cream cheese and raspberry chipotle sauce. Amazing.
Hum-WHAT?
@cinoclav Oh, that stuff is good!
Cheese goes with nearly everything.

Salmon cream cheese dip, of course.
Also crackers suck (because carbs), so I’ll just take the pesto dip by itself please. Thanks.

@PocketBrain I was going to go there but held off.

Why isn’t there ever an option for “all of the above”?
@zinimusprime Because the whole point of these polls is to Irk people.
