For all the people who love these, I don’t begrudge you at all. I realize humor is subjective. But I will never understand what makes something go viral. There is an entire sub-reddit
where every day, dozens of images spawn thousands of photoshops, but for some reason, “Bernie mittens” is the one that takes the zeitgeist by storm.
For me, the idea of taking a recent image and photoshopping into hundreds of different situations was sort of humorous the first few times I saw it 15-20 years ago (remember mosh girl/moshzilla and Elian Gonzalez?). The shtick just seems tired and played out and it stopped being funny long ago.
@DrWorm On occasion though someone does something really, really humorous. Then, in my opinion, it falls under humor. A lot of them I have seen are kind of dumb but a couple are really clever, funny, etc.

I think it is as simple as our collective curiosity of the juxtaposition of the familiar with the unfamiliar.
@DrWorm I find many of them hilarious! I have always loved Photoshop battles. People’s skill, imagination, and humor are fascinating and entertaining.
