@guybrush01, it appears you didn’t view de slick video meh provided. It states Bluetooth on the screen, but I admit I had to view the video since it didn’t include that info in the specs!!
@1DisabledWarVet Which I had already referenced, apparently without your noticing, and my quote of “Aukey-Dokey” came from today’s product’s write-up, which you also apparently missed.
And, on the “Lighten Up!”, you apparently didn’t like my attempt at humor on your comment, so YOU might “Lighten Up!”
@phendrick, It’s apparent to who? Yes I saw the Aukey Dokey comment made by one of the meh team writers & that is when I noted it kinda sounded very similar to ‘Okie Dokie’, so I simply saw your comment as a chance to voice that expression, but apparently, you didn’t grasp my sarcasm & ‘You doesn’t [don’t]have to call me Shirley’, was simply a quote from that movie Airplane. Evidently, or apparently, you & I see humor through different lens, since I see nothing funny about tellin someone a joke Went Over Their Head. Since, apparently you did think it was funny, then maybe you’re not quite as funny as you apparently assume! Yes, I Love a bit of sarcasm in a joke, and I do commend you for that in your 1st comment, but I guess you apparently don’t, or rather, you can sure dish out a bit of sarcasm, but when a person replies with their bit of good natured form of sarcasm ya seem to get just a wee bit offended, ergo, the Sylvister ‘Over The Head’ BS!! So, as I said You, Lighten Up!!
@FightingMongoos@ircon96@richrauch I live on an acreage in the country but I still hear the neighbor’s leaf blower. (IMO, one of the most pointless and obnoxious devices ever foisted on the public.) At least he doesn’t spend all morning playing with it.
Me, I prefer to use a rake or broom.
@ircon96, are you British? They use the 2 Ls to spell canceled, ergo, cancelled. I ain’t a genius like Cheato, but I Googled it out of pure, and unadulterated boredom!
@1DisabledWarVet I never really thought about it, but I’ve always used the double L version. I was born & raised in NH, but maybe it’s cuz both sides of my family are predominantly Quebecois, only a couple generations removed from Canada…? Things that make you go hmm.
@1DisabledWarVet@FightingMongoos@ircon96 Hahaha those electric trucks will probably run out of juice at the most inopportune time and then need an hour to charge or something. I can just hear Pitney Butthead using that as an excuse. .
@FightingMongoos@ircon96@Kidsandliz, I know when PB delivers my stuff, when & if they ever do, they just place, or throw my pkg any damn anywhere n d front yard!!
@1DisabledWarVet@FightingMongoos@Kidsandliz Yeah, FedEx isn’t much better in my neck of the woods. Their idea of “delivering with care” includes refusing to walk the TWO extra steps required to put the packages under the roof at my gate, no matter what the weather is doing.
@marvelljones To be specific, according to information buried in one of the images on Aukey’s web page, it’s Bluetooth 5.0. which is hardly surprising, since anything less than that would be sneered at even by people at a garage sale.
@guybrush01@hchavers I just got back from a trip that took me to Washington, Arizona, and Memphis. My last flight was out of Atlanta (Delta) and was surprisingly on time. Now Minneapolis/St.Paul was a different story. I’ll try to avoid any layover or flight change from there in the future.
I used an AI to create an alternate ending for the story.
“What?” said Leroy.
“Huh?” said Loretta.
The headphones bizarrely started making a mooing sound.
“What the hell is that?” said Leroy, taking off his headphones.
The mooing was coming from the dining room. He went in and saw a cow wearing a pair of Aukey Headphones walking around their house!
“Loretta, come look at this crazy thing!” he called out. “We have to call the police or something! Quick, where did I leave my phone?” He looked for it in his pockets but couldn’t find it.
“I don’t know, where did you leave your brain?” said Loretta. “You left it in the seat of that recliner, remember? You didn’t even put your plate in the sink! Come on! I can’t take it anymore! I’m going out to buy a second house for when you get too annoying!”
With that, she grabbed her purse and stormed out of the house. Leroy had an idea that would make the cows happy, and use the cows to help stop Loretta from buying a second house.
“Moo! Moo!” said Leroy, pretending to be a cow as he walked into the living room with his arms extended like cow horns. “I’m a cow from the Aukey Company that makes those headphones you were just wearing! We’re sorry for any misunderstanding and since we do want to keep our cow customers happy… man, I feel so ridiculous saying this…”
Leroy cleared his throat and continued. “Since we do want to keep our cow customers happy, let me offer you this coupon! Buy six Aukey Headphones and get a free seven-piece set of cookware! Just please come back afterwards to help me with Loretta”
The cows all started talking at once as they surrounded him, mooing in excitement.
“That’s right, folks! You heard the man! Now hurry on down to your local store before this deal moooooves on without you!” said the main cow.
The cows all rushed out of the house, mooing in excitement.
Loretta came back an hour later and was surprised to see the house empty. She walked into the living room and saw Leroy sitting in his recliner with a big smile on his face.
“Where did everyone go?” she asked.
“They’re all at the store buying Aukey Headphones!” said Leroy. “I told them about a cookware deal and they were so excited, they all rushed out mooing!”
Loretta said “Where did the cows come from again?”
Leroy replied: “The Aukey Company. They make headphones.”
“Oh, I see,” said Loretta. “So, what are they going to do with all that cookware?”
That is when the cows came back to help Leroy make things right…
The cows all came back to the house with their cookware and helped Leroy clean up the kitchen and living room. They even did the dishes for him!
Loretta was so surprised and touched by this gesture that she decided not to buy a second house after all, but she was still annoyed at Leroy for not doing the dishes enough.
One day, while Loretta was out getting groceries, Leroy saw his chance to use the cows to do the dishes for him again. He quickly called them over and explained the situation.
The cows agreed to help and soon had the whole house clean! Loretta came back and was amazed at how clean everything was.
From then on, every time Loretta would go out, Leroy would call the cows over to help him with whatever needed to be done around the house. The cows were happy to help and Leroy never had to do anything around the house again!
The Aukey Company was so happy to hear about how their products had brought two people back together that they sent Leroy and Loretta a free year’s supply of headphones and cookware!
@beth5913 Should work if it’s a recent enough smart TV or you have a streaming device attached. I have an Apple TV and it’ll connect to any Bluetooth audio device. I’m a little hard of hearing, so I often listen to movies through a pair of cheap noise-permitting headphones.
(For that purpose the background hiss of the active noise cancellation might be a bit of a distraction. I presume you can turn that feature on and off as desired though.)
@Allegretto thanks, I wanted to get them because my husband is hard of hearing & im sure I would need 2 pairs as the headphones will most likely cause the speakers to mute
@beth5913 At least with the Apple TV, yes, it mutes the speakers when the headphones connect. Multiple simultaneous headphones will depend on the specific TV or box. Apple 4K models support two headphones at once, but the older HD models don’t.
Can these be paired with more than one device? I’ve got some Bluetooth headphones that are difficult when I want to use them for my phone, but then later want to use them with my tablet.
So it turns out that despite having six pairs of headphones, three of which have Bluetooth and three of which are cable only, I didn’t have a single pair with active noise cancellation. There are times when that would be handy. So I sprung for a pair.

@goose08@mike808 Cheap headphones tend to sound like cheap headphones. I’d put these in the same class with the Aduro pair I got in an IRK, and at least these have ANC.
The AUX cable included is too short for any use beyond the iPod in my pocket. The charging cable is short as well, less than two feet long. The AUX cable does not support the microphone, as usual; to use these with a cable for conferencing or calls, you’ll need an external mike. (That’s common but not universal, and bears noting.)
Not For Large Heads
I received the headphones. I put them on. Even at maximum extension, they barely fit my head. I can feel them pinch at the top, which means they are still a little too small.
@sjk3 interesting. I have what I consider a large head and they are plenty big. Very comfortable. Hopefully they hold up better than many headphones I’ve purchased that break.
Well I received these yesterday and initial reaction is they are great for the money - fit well (smallish head) and sound pretty darn good to a non-audiophile. Also my wife came down and yelled at me for listening to the TV too loud, so I just switched over to listening to my movie on these headphones (via Roku app) and it was great.
Just got around to trying these today…
Fit: as others said, identical to Bose. Headband feels a bit tighter. Not sure how comfortable they would be for a full movie.
Sound: Holy cow, these sound awful. Only copied Bose casting and not electronics apparently! Bass heavy. Mids are nonexistent. Highs are sharp and tinny—with some distortion at reasonable volumes.
ANC: noise isolation of the ear cups alone is pretty good. The ANC itself seems to cancel high pitched sounds and constantly droning (fans, jet engines) well enough. At the unfortunate cost of making the sound quality even worse (which I didn’t think was possible until I pressed the button)
I accidentally left a pair of XM4s at the gate at SFO a few months ago and bought these to replace them because apparently I cannot be trusted with $300 cans. These will definitely teach me self-loathing.

MOAR HEADPHONES! At least they’re not Bluetooth®
@guybrush01 ummm… wireless so yeah… probably BT!
@guybrush01, it appears you didn’t view de slick video meh provided. It states Bluetooth on the screen, but I admit I had to view the video since it didn’t include that info in the specs!!
@1DisabledWarVet I should have known that Meh would stoop to sneaking Bluetooth® in on us. They are quite tricky…
(As an aside, I’m in for 2 pair. You can never have too many headphones that feature teeth of some kind)
@guybrush01 You going to have those teeth bite your ears off? Or bite others who try to talk to you while you are using them?
Aukey-Dokey, Shirley you jokey.
@phendrick, it’s Okie Dokie & ya doesn’t have to call me Shirley!
@1DisabledWarVet

Damn, even noise is getting cancelled now.
@ircon96 When I come to power leaf blowers and diesel trucks will be outlawed.
@FightingMongoos @ircon96
Please hurry!
@FightingMongoos @Kyeh I’ll second that!
@FightingMongoos @ircon96 They have a solution to that ‘problem’ already. It’s called an acreage in the country.

@1DisabledWarVet @FightingMongoos @ircon96 @Kidsandliz FedEx once left a package at my house that was clearly addressed to someone 24 miles away.
It says Wireless, but doesn’t mention Bluetooth, and it includes an AUX cable? Has somebody been hitting the margaritas again?
@werehatrack
yes it is bluetooth with aux backup if you want according to this review
https://www.soundguys.com/aukey-ep-n12-review-58361/
@werehatrack They can be used wirelessly (BT) or you can attach the cable for a wired connection (and better sound quality).
@marvelljones To be specific, according to information buried in one of the images on Aukey’s web page, it’s Bluetooth 5.0. which is hardly surprising, since anything less than that would be sneered at even by people at a garage sale.
@werehatrack, watch d slick video!
On ear? Over ear? Who knows!
@chienfou Over-ear.
@chienfou Other possibilities?
In ear?
Near ear?
Through ear? (bone phones…)
@chienfou, in ear, in inner-ear!
@marvelljones
Thanks. But the point was that should be a spec that’s listed… Just like BT which these presumably are… but which BT iteration?
@chienfou @marvelljones Vid says BT 5.0.
The SoundGuys says these are “OK”
Some links to the manuals would be a plus
@rjquillin I couldn’t find it on Aukey’s site, but it seems to be here. I don’t have this particular set of cheaper headphones, so I can’t really verify. https://fccid.io/2ATIH-EP-N12/Users-Manual/User-manual-5215172

@marvelljones @rjquillin “I don’t have this particular set of cheaper headphones” – humble brag?
@phendrick @rjquillin Definitely not, I’ve been using the Tribit XFree Go (BTH71). They lack noise cancelling so I’m tempted by these Aukey headphones.
@marvelljones Thanks

Can these be paired with the TV?
@beth5913 Does the TV do Bluetooth? Or are you just shipping them?
@werehatrack yes, my TV has bluetooth
@beth5913 Should work if it’s a recent enough smart TV or you have a streaming device attached. I have an Apple TV and it’ll connect to any Bluetooth audio device. I’m a little hard of hearing, so I often listen to movies through a pair of cheap noise-permitting headphones.

Can these be paired with more than one device? I’ve got some Bluetooth headphones that are difficult when I want to use them for my phone, but then later want to use them with my tablet.

OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE?
These look identical to my Bose headphones. Exact button placement, charging port and inside markings on the ears.
@DictatorTom I was about to say the same thing. My Bose headphones have the same L and R in the earphone cups.
@DictatorTom @Larry1977 If you’re going to rip off an appearance for your cheap-as-plastic-fork product, rip off the best of the well-known ones.
Eh, I’ll give em a go.

/giphy dormant-soaked-caterpillar
Do they require battery power to use with the AUX cable? Or can you use them indefinitely without charging if you don’t care abut the active noise cancellation and Bluetooth?
@summetj Battery power is irrelevant when using AUX cable.
These are, without a doubt the worst sounding headphones I’ve ever owned. Terrible.
@goose08 Perhaps they can become the worst headphones you were able to give away.
@goose08 @mike808 Cheap headphones tend to sound like cheap headphones. I’d put these in the same class with the Aduro pair I got in an IRK, and at least these have ANC.
