Attention: Walkera Runner 250 owners
0I just placed my order for Runner 250 spare parts on Aliexpress. For convenience, I ordered all the Walkera parts from a single seller, TomTop RC Store, awell established R/C parts seller in venues including Amazon, eBay and Aliexpress.
I ordered:
Runner 250 Advance upgraded battery tray, part number 250(R)-Z-04, $4.72
Runner 250 Advance upgraded rotor set (two pairs), part number 250(R)-Z-01, $5.08 (if you prefer the original Runner 250 rotors, they are $5.56 for two pairs)
Runner 250 Advance camera and headlight guard (not included with the original Runner), part number 250(R)-Z-05, $2.56
Runner 250 original landing gear (set of 4), part number 250-Z-09, $3.23
Total order was $15.59, free shipping, 15 day delivery time.
At a minimum, it's a good idea to grab at least a set of rotors, but I also included the landing gear for three bucks knowing that it's just a matter of time before I'm skimming the ground for some hot FPV action and snag up on a rock or something and snap off one of the landing gear. Same reason I added the camera/headlight guard. Better to snap a $3 hunk of plastic than to break the power board or camera lens.
If you've got a few bucks to spare, I encourage you to take advantage of the Aliexpress anniversary sale and grab a few spares now, before you break something and are grounded for two or three weeks waiting for replacements.

First thing I did was order spare props when I saw they were integral nut type, then realized that a set of nuts would let me use the stash of 6" props I already have, so I'm good in that department. But the rest of it comes to $14.05, for me…oh, I see you have to use their app to get the quoted prices. So there's that…
@fultonmartin Ya, the app thing. I used the PC to do all my shopping, put the stuff in my cart, then just used the app to checkout. Easy peasy.
@fultonmartin where u get dem nutz mon?
@sportykev https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016I8XACW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@fultonmartin great thanks. Do you have recommendations on props? I haven't caught on the numbering scheme yet. I run 9450 on my P1 because that's what the P3 runs on. But for the Runner, should I just stick with the stock config?
@sportykev They're generally cheap enough that you can experiment. The numbering goes 6x*, the * being the 'pitch' or how aggressive they are: 6x3 being fairly mild, incrementing up to 6x4.5. ReadyToFlyQuads has a decent selection, but he's slow to ship http://www.readytoflyquads.com/propellers/6-inch. Amazon, too, but watch where they're coming from; if they're really cheap it's probably China = slow shipping. (You're using 9x4.5 on your P1, I think stock was 8x4.5.)
I got everything you got, plus some v1 props to see which is better and some battery straps so I can upgrade from the homemade Built NY ones on my other 250. I think I spent $25, maybe less. The app specials made a difference.
@djslack Exactly the reason I ordered the v2 rotors... see which I prefer. Unfortunately the Runner 250 rotors don't fit my ZMR250 motors. I like the idea of an integrated nut, and the idea of only having to stock one type of rotor. I haven't even tried FPV yet and I've eaten maybe half a dozen rotors on the ZMR.
V1 rotors arrived from tomtop today, shipped from Los Angeles. Now to find that order in the stack of aliexpress orders to confirm its receipt.
Edit: confirmed. Weirdly enough the seller on AliExpress was Digital Tech Store/Vivian Lee, but the return address on the package was tomtop.
Still waiting on the runner 250 itself, though.
I finally received my spare parts order from TomTop via Aliexpress.
The Runner 250 battery tray is a fan-freakin-tastic addition. I didn't have to change out the carbon fiber part... the new tray snaps right onto the old version carbon fiber support and fits like a glove. Perfect!
The front crash guard (headlight/camera guard) is also a direct fit, with one exception. The top screws will be about 1-2mm too short. So I'll have to visit my local Ace Hardware and hope they have 2.5mmx6mm self-threading button head screws in a black finish. But other than that, the crash guard is a direct fit and installed in less than a minute.
Very satisfied with the purchase of those parts.
@ruouttaurmind any footage of you zipping around yet?!
@ruouttaurmind my Runner is still out of commission. Didn't get a chance to fix it since the crash. Need to control my spending!
The question is what kind of motor for 250 frame?
I heard 2205 brushless motor is the best...
@brotherhobby Motor selection depends on a number of things. 2205 refers to the physical size. There's also a rating for the motor RPM. For example, this Walkera Runner 250 has 2500kv motors. This means the motor has the potential to rotate at 30,000RPM with a 12V battery. There is also a torque rating for motors. Torque and RPM is much more important than the physical size number (2204, 1806, 2414, etc).
