Anything that is not crappy imitation meant would be fine. When I buy toothpaste I buy this stuff made in italy. Some of their flavors include Licorice and ginger. The Ginger has a hint of mint as well but it’s not fake American men
My dentist never asked me what flavor polish I wanted. If they did I would say unflavored, please.

I’m pretty sure the stuff my dentists have used wasn’t even mint, it has never tasted like anything.
When I was 10-ish years old (mid 50’s now), I was given a choice of flavors and cherry (my favorite) was one. I choose that.
Having that sickeningly sweet flavor in my mouth that long made me not want to taste anything cherry flavored for a year. Since then, mint it is.
I don’t remember getting a choice since I was a kid, but back then I liked orange.

@Cerridwyn I know that’s a typo but it’s still hilarious that domestic toothpaste can taste of fake men (versus a package of a real Italian import)
