Coach. Xfiles. Full house. All coming back from the dead this year.
What I really want? J.j. Abrams to fix the lost last season and give everyone the show ending they wanted.....or they could've just ended on a super high note cliff hanger after the first season like "greatest american hero" and just left people dying forever
@msujp What I really want is J.J Abrams on his knees grovelling for my forgiveness. I watched the first two seasons of that crap and still want my lost time back.
@msujp Lost is the show that came to mind as Irk rambled on. They could have stopped before the last season and I think I would have been way way happier.
Irk, the philosopher. Though, I think he took the easy way out... if it's not about sex, then it's about death. Today, it's death. Maybe tomorrow it'll be about sex! :-)
While I do believe Irk is mostly right here (certainly a lot more than the Coffee episode- not his finest moment), there is one or two shows I'd really like to come back just the same: The Lone Gunmen (the spin-off from the X-Files)
I think if story-driven shows are going to stay dead after cancellation, the writers/producers should at least reveal how it was going to end. It kills me not knowing.
@darksaber99999 I think it should be a law that they must film a series finale every season. If the show gets renewed, you could probably use at least 50% of the footage during the next season...so the production costs wouldn't be a total loss.
It's a weird thing about serial entertainments, TV shows, comics, whatever. For the most part, how it was going to end is: it wasn't. Something else would have happened. And then something different after that. Maybe just an ANIMAL HOUSE style final credits sequence would do the trick? ("Six weeks later, Ghost Whisperer was fatally run over by a texting driver.")
I'm one of the people that complains about no original stories being told and everything being a remake or reboot or based on something else, but of course I still want more stories from the worlds that I love.
Does it always work out? Not really, but I think the potential and promise of one of these beloved series coming back and being just as good or better than before is worth the risk of it being bad.
The good thing about remakes and reboots is that the originals are still there to be enjoyed no matter how bad the new versions are.
Irk... Why are you hating on firefly...
@sohmageek Seriously, though. I need more shiny things in my life.
This was a really insightful episode for such a goofball.
And irk, everything is a remix

Irk is right on the money, as usual.
Right, Irk. Like when "Happy Days" jumped the shark.
What da hell you just say?
Bruce Campbell is awesome in everything!

@dashcloud I want a Massively Multiplayer Online game version of Dead Like Me.
@dashcloud I really want to see Better Off Ted come back. 2 seasons wasn't enough
Dear Irk: I'm more of a bearded clam kinda guy. Oysters are just OK.
Except X-Files, right, Right? RIGHT? RIGHT!?!

@matthew Oh man. If only....
Well said Irk!
You win, Irk. I recognize my hypocrisy with this.
