Roger Whittaker…I don’t advocate anyone else necessarily listening to his “Christmas Album” unless you have a thing for sentimental singer/songwriter shit from the 70s, but it’s what I grew up with and I love it for that reason.
It’s early and I read it as “Swedish Porg Metal”. Then my mind when started imagining a Swedish Chef (from the Muppets) skit where he’s chasing porgs around trying to get them into his pot to cook them. All it needs is a Chewbacca cameo to be the best muppets bit ever!
When the radio broke at work for several weeks, I tended to listen to this playlist. I had coworkers think I was weird for enjoying it. Metal has a lot of roots in classical.
@InnocuousFarmer I bought a CD years ago (28?) and I still listen to it. It’s not a metal version. Mine is actually just plain classical. As the snow falls softly I like to sit and watch with a hot cup of tea/chocolate listening to it.
So close, yet so far
Ugh… I mean, Faroese prog-metal, but sure. (edit: in my haste to post I went with an Amazon link. Sorry about that)
Wait… I really do listen to Swedish prog metal
@cpierce
@cpierce @mschuette you beat me to it. But technically they are Swedish extreme metal. Here’s a great cover.
@cpierce ever hear of Sirenia?
@tweezak yes! I love Rob!
@AuntMean67 Yup, good band!
Same stuff as always. Florida Winters are not that hot.
Uh. Do people really change what they listen to based upon the season (holiday music notwithstanding)???
These must be people who don’t refrigerate their batteries. Crazies!!!
@shahnm yeah, I always found these questions weird. My music tastes don’t change with the seasons except adding in some random holiday songs.
Christmas!!!
Venezuelan Beaver Metal.
@UncleVinny Oooh, I’m sorry sir, we’re fresh out today!
/youtube snap your fingers
/youtube snap your neck
Turn it up…

Appaloosa or anything by Compton and Bateau.
For some reason when it snows (as in last night for instance) I love to listen to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
@AuntMean67 How do you listen to it? What does it sound like?
I’ve taken several swings at The Four Seasons but the closest I get to enjoying it is listening to Recomposed by Max Richter.
@AuntMean67 @InnocuousFarmer the first 2:39 is probably the best part of four seasons:

Winter?
@lisaviolet To be fair, isn’t 64/46 goddamn freezing for the San Diego area?
@brumagem It won’t stay that way, you can bet on it.
Long December and there’s reason to belive
@pmarin It’s all a lot of oysters, and no pearls.
Just like an IRK.
… the wind howl outside…no, wait, that was hurricane Zeta.
