Had one done for a little while. All the girls loved it. Guys didn’t really care. Father was very displeased. Now I just have a small scar. Which is sort of funny because I’m actually super picky about earrings in regards to attractiveness.
Only trendies (i.e. “not like everybody else”) and pirates pierce ears. The real badassery is not to have any piercing, as it’s fresh, rustic, vibrant and unconventional.
Unless you’re a pirate and pillage the seven seas now and then - then you may pierce whatever you want.
@serpent
Serious statement. Coming from someone that used to have stretched ears and has a big tattoo on the shoulder, I agree. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have anything done, as it might be the minority now.
@serpent
Daily Fun Fact Without a Source: Earrings were used as a sign of a freed slaves loyalty to his master. When a slave worked off his time of servitude, but decided to remain with his master, the master was to pierce the slaves ear against a doorpost, and put a ring in the piercing to prevent it from healing closed.

I observe that a fair % of the young, and a larger % of females of all ages have pierced ears. I am unaware that having ears pierced or not pierced has anything to do with either badassery or trendiness.
@serpent people are always surprised when they find out I don’t have any piercings. As a 25 year old woman some people don’t understand how I never had any done. I just never really wanted one.
@ninjaemilee I had mine pierced late in my 20s after not having worn earrings at all. The earrings constantly got tangled in my hair or fell off or whatever. Huge PITA. I’m sure my ears aren’t pierced anymore.
@f00l I’ve had long hair for most of my life. I always thought that if I did get piercings it would get tangled, in the way, or just covered by my hair anyway. So I’m with you.

(If needed, I can find a source or the origin later.)
3 in one ear, 2 in the other. Been Like that for almost 20 years. I’ve thought recently about getting more, but my ears heal so damn slow. I don’t know if I want to go through the irritation.
Two in one side, three in the other, slightly (and thus not irreversibly) stretched. Keep meaning to get a helix piercing on the right side so I can properly show my dedication to the Prophets.
Four on one side, three on the other. Always have earrings in. The side with four has little flat faux opal studs, the other side has tiny (and I mean tiny) diamond studs.
Male here. I’ve idly considered it, but can’t really be arsed. I’ve also been planning a tattoo for several years, and really need to call back the tattoo parlor I want to book at…
Used to have my ears stretched to 5/8". Then I grew up, took them out, and they sorta look like mini vaginas now.
@hems79 haha
Hell no.

No piercings. Had one ear, got sick of the look/novelty after a month, so I quit wearing anything in it and it healed shut. Can’t even see a mark.
I’m a weirdo to all my coworkers and acquaintances (notice I didn’t say friends… I have none).
Only ears pierced with one hole each. No tattoos, no other piercings, never had wildly-coloured hair. I’m too fickle to make permanent changes.
@jbrookebarrow That is all I have too - one hole, each ear, located in the conventional place, nothing else.
I feel like there are probably more men on here??
@kanikabasu same

@RiotDemon same here. 3/1, eons ago.
Both ears have 2 holes. But I rarely wear earrings in the 2nd hole any more.
Mehhhhh
And ughhh no way… give me cubic zirconia, least that sparkles… pearls should be bought for your mama not your mami
I intend to leave life with the same number of holes I started with.

No piercings – I try to avoid pain at all costs. I had a blood draw, today, and I yelled at the tech. She hurt me. I am such a wimp.
