i worked Equicon’s as a gofer, and later staff for several years. Her oldest daughter is intellectually challenged and she and my daughter who was like 3 at the time when Kat was 10ish had a ball at one of them together.
She got me into the SCA which I dabbled in for several years and my ex and I worked several worldcons as well, including with the trimbles in the art show.
I saw that my ex got fandom in the the divorce, which was sorta true (we were not technically divorced as we were never married, but principal is the same) - I didn’t feel comfortable with her and her partner being all these places.
Conventions and fandom were different back then. I want to say more innocent maybe. It wasn’t such big business and even the ‘stars’ were not snobs. I met all of the TOS cast except Shatner and all were gracias folk. I met Mark Hamell and lots of authors many of whom now walk the summerland, I am sure laughing at all of us
It’s been over 40 years since I have seen the original Twilight Zone, and at first, the gremlin looked conspicuously foreign to me and I was wondering if there might even be part of the joke that I was missing. I was surprised that a Google search shows that the gremlin in the cartoon is a pretty faithful representation. In my mind’s eye, I was envisioning that the original gremlin was more like the one in the 1983 movie, or even the Simpsons episode.
Si
I miss the Twilight Zone.
@capnjb Plenty of shows out there that are Twilight Zone inspired.

@rockblossom Nice!
Considering both have been in reruns since I was a child, yes.
I remember the letter writing campaign to keep star trek on the air
@Cerridwyn I’ve met Bjo Trimble, and I was part of the letter writing campaign.
@werehatrack

help build a bridge set back in the day and was a guest in her home many times.
lovely lady
@Cerridwyn @werehatrack I think I’m in the presence of some of the First Ones.
I briefly corresponded with Bjo via email years ago, and she was very gracious to a total stranger.

There was a Simpson’s spoof but on the school bus.

@DrWorm

Pretty goofy looking!
I’m old enough to get lots of things, but that’s why I get vaccinations.
