@sammydog01 The Audible e-books are especially good this month. ‘Shards of Honor’ is one of my all-time favorites, and hearing it brought out a lot of details I’d somehow missed.
Audible varies what’s available in channels each month, tho some content (podcasts, news, series) is constant. They always have some audiobooks there. I’ve seen them put goods bestsellers (only a few years from pub date) into channels.
If you have amazon prime or an audible subscription, it can pay to check at the start of each month to see what’s up.
I am thinking of signing up because I hear they may not be offering it in the future and I would be grandfathered in and still reap the sweet sweet benefits.
That’s for Prime, not VMP–waste of $5 every month…
@alphapeaches My Roku isn’t connected to the modem anymore and doesn’t have wireless, so I can’t get Netflix or Prime Videos on my TV anymore. Not really worth it just to watch on the tablet. Can’t decide whether to drop Netflix or get a device that can stream wirelessly. Trying to figure out if this cable can hook my functioning tablet with the bad screen to the tv, and if it would work without having to tell the tablet to talk to it (because no screen).

The no minimum for free shipping is even nicer for me that the free one or two day, or close, anyway.
The Saturday evening before the eclipse my tripod mount broke. I found one with free next day on Amazon, ordered it, and had it Sunday afternoon. Boom.
I may not save money with Prime, but it’s probably close, and the convenience is worth the difference.
@craigthom Yeah, that’s the real value for me as well. I can decide I’m having a party on the weekend, and order stuff to arrive in time for it. Or find out in one biweekly class I need something, and have it in time for the next class.
First.
@phatmass You starred yourself, so I took my star away. I’m not ENTIRELY sure why, but it just felt wrong.
Then I felt guilty about taking the star away due to my own hangups, and gave it back.
Not First.
Not second.
Uh, not third? {is this honestly going anywhere?}
The exclusive answer on this poll is the only thing my VMP membership has been good for since Meh day…
/giphy not getting my money’s worth
@Oneroundrobb yea it’s no good, better get rid of it.
@Oneroundrobb Where’d you get the pix of the purchasing demon?
It’s OK, Meh. Lots of us have crushes on Amazons.
Does it count if I mooch off a family member’s membership when it proves advantageous?
I continue to try to get cheap steaks at whole foods with it, still doesn’t seem to do much more than annoy the butcher.

I used my Prime membership less than I used my VMP here.
Which should say something.
I’m just not sure what that is…
@haydesigner

The female of the species gets LOTS of use out of MY Prime membership. OK, I DO listen to the music…
Prime shipping, prime video, prime music, prime books. I use it all because that’s the value in my membership.
@jml326 I use the heck out of Audible, too. And no-rush shipping on any shipment gives me a dollar credit for ebooks or music, stackable.
@OldCatLady But Audible isn’t included in Prime so that doens’t count.
@OldCatLady Not Audible, but Kindle books. I seem to find a ton of free books.
@hdavidj Audible Channels is included in Prime. Lots of stuff there to hear.
@sammydog01 I pay for audible, I just assumed it was part of that membership. Last time I used channels I didn’t like it though.

@OldCatLady Thanks- I’ll check it out.

Not eleventh.
I had amazon prime up until september 4th. I liked it, but didn’t want to deal with the lump payment right now.
@Pantheist Don’t they have the monthly payments which may even give you some better benefits, or cost less or something?
@mehbee 10.99 monthly or 49 a year with an edu address.
Not last.
@eonfifty
You sure?
@f00l Yes.
I use my prime for Twitch Prime membership (free sub to a channel per month) and for the 2 day shipping on the random things I buy once in a while.
I sign up for a monthly membership around December for holiday gift shipping.

I like Amazon Prime because they let you download videos to watch offline. I don’t know if any other service does that.
@sammydog01 I’m pretty sure Netflix does.
@alphapeaches I will check on that. Thanks!
@alphapeaches Yes, they do. I downloaded a bunch to take on a trip recently.
The only thing about Netflix that makes me sad is that Always Sunny isn’t available here in Germany.
@alphapeaches
