Are meh writers always traveling?
9It seems like all the people who write for meh spend a disproportionate amount of time on the road. If I can also always be “travelling” and spend 0 time in Texas I’m interested in any open jobs.
dear meh hirey people: I’ve written web apps and databases for the state department (with significant security requirements), and copy for a few bookstores. GImme something without moving to that hell on earth you call a state.

PS: I was drunk when I wrote that and this. Imagine how competent I’d be with even a modicum of effort.
You’ve written databases? Woah.
@shawn
@Pantheist
; )
Don’t ever come visit. It might hurt or something.
PS. To the "Meh All-About-Hirey-People-y Group:
Panthiest would be most competent and amusing.
(Ignore my opinion, pls)
From what I recall from my visits, insulting their state is not a good way to ingratiate yourself with Texans.
Overheard once: “I feel sorry for anyone who’s not from Texas.”
@walarney
Insulting us is just fine and dandy. Gives us something to smile about.
@f00l Ha. You wear hats.
@medz
Texas Rangers - the law enforcement kind, and the baseball kind - wear hats. Part of the uniforms.
You gonna be out all day in the summer sun and not wear a hat?
In that case, you might not have much brain left at the end if the day.
But then, if you do that, mebbe you didn’t have much brain to start with?
@f00l Ha. You like leather accessories.
@medz
Yeppers.
Ok, what state are you in, @Pantheist? I don’t want to have to pay sales tax in my state…
@sligett
@Pantheist is in a state of “Mehind”.
They are masters of negotiation when it comes to job offers.
I’ve never actually been to Texas. I’m currently in Georgia, and I let my enthusiasm for it spill over.
Anyway, yeah. Second drunkest unsolicited job application I’ve ever submitted.
@Pantheist
well, don’t stay sober!
“I hear you barely work at all. Also, I’m currently drunk.” is the best job application I’ve seen.
@dave So, when do I start?
@dave I can easily start drinking more. Can I work for you with @Pantheist then? I’ve been developing desktop apps for 30 years or so. How hard can it be to switch to web apps?
@dave I think you should hold a meh contest (mostly to entertain us masses).
Put a future product up for it (probably one of the questionable ones), lay down some ground rules, and allow users to submit a write-up for it. Let’s see who can do what your employees do. Let’s see who can combine product information and humor.
You never know, you might find some raw talent out there.
If nothing else, we get a chance to have a laugh.

@dave I don’t drink, but I don’t work hard either. I should get a chance.
@mfladd That’s a great idea.
