Anyone else still watching a DLP TV?
3So I was bored and decided to go on my favorite new app, Close5, and found a 60" DLP television for sale. I offered the huge sum of $70 bucks for it, and got it! The very nice man not only gave me the television, but gave me two bulbs and offered the stand it was on. Not knowing much about DLP televisions, I did not know what to expect. I got it home and I was shocked by the picture!! It is so nice!!! While I understand that they were phased out because they are so big, but if I new they were this nice I would of bought one years ago. The one I got was the Mitsubishi WD-60737. Does anyone else still own a DLP?

Yup. 65-inch Samsung. Love it! I'm moving soon, and I won't have room for a TV this "thick." It won't wall-mount, so I just my DLP days are numbered.
If I could buy a DLP TV with a VESA mount I sure would!
I have a 65" Mitsubishi. I had to replace the DLP chip (the infamous "white dots" issue) but it was easy to do and the chip was $85. TV has been going strong for about 6 years and the picture is excellent.
@boc Mine is a Mitsubishi as well. I watched a video on replacing the bulbs, and it seemed very easy. I am going to have to do some research on replacing the chip.
My projector (that I bought back during the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray wars) is DLP. I don't get to watch it often, and every time I do, I'm kind of surprised by how nice the picture looks.
@walarney I picked up a LG Minibeam for an absurdly low price recently, and it's using DLP as well... pretty amazing what it can do on battery alone.
I also own a Mitsubishi DLP and don't even consider upgrading to a new flatscreen. The added benefit of being able to repair it vast outweighs the thickness factor. I've changed the DLP chip once and changed the bulb twice. Very inexpensive repairs and the picture looks fantastic. Long live DLP!
@JoeVan Mine is a Mitsubishi as well. Watching "The Strain" on it last night was pretty nice!
Remember this fella? Gone but not forgotten...
My roommates and I in college had one. 60" Samsung. it was stellar. I recently visited my old roommate and he still has it. Replaced the bulb and it looks great.
