USPS just made my wife pay $5.30 on delivery for my $6 Meh purchase - never had this happen before - they said Meh didn’t pay enough for shipping or something?
@hcavlnch@Thumperchick The charge was because it was forwarded to a new address. I don’t remember if Meh puts any endorsements on packages but postage would be charged either to the sender or receiver.
Anyone who changes addresses - update everything financial as soon as possible. Banks, credit unions, credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay… It will get your mail and packages to you faster and avoid the fees on items not sent first class or Priority.
@speediedelivery@Thumperchick That doesn’t make sense - 1 it was the same neighborhood 4 streets over about a half mile away. 2 I still own and receive packages at the other address. 3. USPS has never informed me that forwarding would “cost extra” - I’ve never been charged extra for a “forwarded packages”
@hcavlnch@Thumperchick The system to forward packages changed around then. More training and focus on the whole process. There was also a change that started charging postage due within the same zipcode a bit longer ago (I can’t remember how long but few years prior).
The photo shows that there is a valid forward mail on file. Mail for that name should not be delivered at the former address unless it has something like “or current resident”. You can cancel the forward and notify senders for the mail to go to the address you want.
“Problems with Pitney Bowes, never, they’re fast, efficient, and never smash my boxes or rip the tape off the top so the box is flapping open. Or send my package on circuitous routes around the country. Or keep a box in a warehouse not moving for two weeks in a row… Why do you ask?”.
Never had problems with USPS though. Or OOPS.
FedEx told me my address doesn’t exist once (they had the correct address and had delivered here before and since) but they’re usually ok too. So was DHL when they still delivered in US.
Yes! Two of my packages bought during the meh-rathon last month are still not here.
One says it got to my city and was delivered to a Pitney Bowes facility, but it’s been there for a week. I checked the tracking with USPS and it says “Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item, SPARKS, NV 89441” (NOT my state).
The other had the same issue… but it does say it moved just yesterday to the USPS facility.
@MaggieRaine
I still have 5 things I bought that are not here, this is the worst shipping ever! Just checked and 2 things still haven’t even shipped from meh yet, I would tell them to go fuck themselves but those 2 things are the stuff that I actually want.
@MaggieRaine Many of us have found things go all over the country, sometimes as round trips, get “delivered” to post offices that don’t exist (like what happened to me) and then suddenly move on elsewhere. Then when they finally show up the tracking path is sanitized.
What the hell is this Pitney Bowes facility nonsense on the shipping? Is Pitney the name of the mule they’re using to bring it to me? If so, he needs a little more giddy up in his get-along
My order has been sitting in Indiana at a Pitney Bowes facility for over a week. Ordered 20 days ago. Time to go back to just shopping on Amazon. Sheesh!
@mondojdp Amazon hasn’t been much on delivery lately - they’ve been letting orders stack up and then shipping a bunch of stuff all at once, usually toward the end of the month. In a way, it’s kind of like getting an IRK except you actually want all the different stuff that’s in the box.
@stolicat bad luck on your end i suppose. I’ve ordered loads of stuff from Amazon since the pandemic started and haven’t had anything take more than 3 days.
@mondojdp@stolicat It’s been all over the map for me. Initially some Amazon stuff was taking weeks, but the tracking was accurate. They’ve been getting back to normal gradually, and yesterday I got an unexpected next day delivery.
UPS dropped off a box of wine and didn’t require a signature. The proof of delivery just said received by my-last-name. Seems like they could get in trouble since someone 21+ is supposed to sign
@medz We’ve had three wine shipments since the get-back-in-the-house orders started (yes, we’re doing fine staying at home - hic) my regular ups driver says since the pandemic they aren’t bothering with signatures, they just drop the box off and run away.
@medz@stolicat I get a lot of mail that requires signatures. The last set had a certified mail letter that also had a return receipt. That needs two signatures for a single mail piece.
I was outside mowing the lawn when he got to my house but since I knew those items were coming, I was looking for the mailman. I caught him at a neighbors house and he said that he is signing for the customers and that he just left the pieces in my garage on top of some boxes he also delivered.
I can understand them leaving a package but with certified mail and return receipt, the sender pays a lot of extra money for that signature service.
@medz People under 21 aren’t ordering wine in the mail, heh. Now if they sold cases of natty light or mike’s hard lemonade in the mail, that might be a different matter…
My mid April IRK that I just received today , took a long while to get to me after taking a slight left from Atlanta and then deciding to take a scenic East coast trip up to Pennsylvania
@ptmatter Without seeing the details, I would guess it arrived at the wrong post office that day. The computer generates some of the messages including “out for delivery”. The wrong office scanned it arrived there and the computer knows it arrived and assumes it is at the correct place. If it does the same thing and go to the wrong place, notify your local office and they should be able to send the information to the sort facility to fix the error. This does not happen often but if the barcode tells a machine the wrong information it can really delay things.
@speediedelivery thanks for the recommendation! Anyone have Meh’s address as the post office requests this when I try to fill out the form for a missing package?
Yeah, my Meh-a-thon package started its journey on 20 May; it’s currently still AWOL somewhere in Seattle. Last seen at “Pitney Bowes Facility” on Friday morning. If Pitney is the name of the mule I assume the facility it’s in is a masoleum.
Normally, I haven’t had any shipping issues from Meh. Until now.
Cutie Dice 2 reorder - due May 26th. Been sitting on “On Its Way to USPS” since June 2nd
The unenvironmentlly friendly Mosquito UV - due the 19th, so still time, but also on the way to USPS since the 6th.
Wondering if the Shipping Process now uses Pony Express?
Still not as bad as UPS! Had a package (from another non-Meh place) out for delivery. Never showed, but driver said receiver refused package!
Called their Customer Support, and talked to rep, said someone would call me (I said I would even go to center to pick it up). No callback. Called back again. Rescheduled for delivery … after a week of that status, it was returned!
I am completely baffled by the shipment issues we’re having. My parents and I live in the middle of rural south Arkansas. Middle of nowhere - town of ~300 people. We’ve gotten 3 shipments to our tiny podunk little town (week 1: one 10 lb, week 2: one 40 lbs, week 3: one 200 lbs). I sent two orders of pasta to my son (weeks 1 and 3). So far, he has neither of them and they’re both marked as being received by the post office in his town.
However, I just got off the phone with the postmaster and she says they have NOT taken possession of the packages. So I have no idea where his packages are. Next time, I won’t be shipping anything to him. If I order again, I’ll have it sent to my house and he’ll just have to drive 5 hours down here and get it because evidently, the shipping between DFW and Fayetteville has some kind of weird time warp that the shipping between DFW and Thornton does not have lol
@ivannabc This has happened to others. In my case it was allegedly delivered to my zip code post office except my zip code is covered by a different post office. They didn’t receive it. It then moved out of town and then back in town to the correct zip code post office except it still wasn’t at that post office, was listed in transit elsewhere when it was delivered to me. Then the tracking was cleaned up. Don’t give up hope yet.
I think I’m one of the very few that DOESN’T have any shipping problems, but I live in Fort Worth, so whenever I finally do get the notification that Meh/Morningsave/SlickDeals has shipped me something I usually receive it by the next business day. Their distribution center is over in a Dallas borough (I wanna say Carrollton??) so it never takes long and it’s pretty much always delivered by USPS.
Personally, I’ve never had a problem with Meh. Every time I’ve had trouble with my items (dead on arrival, parts not working, missing pieces, etc.), meh’s customer service is always quick to correct the issue, whether it’s through sending a replacement or refunding my money. Heck, I even needed help twice with the same item, and I was never given and grief about it. I have confidence in their customer service. I think Meh and track package from china are the only companies that took care of my delivery, and I was satisfied.
Yeah, that shouldn’t be happening. Send a pic of the receipt to our cs team and we’ll get something sorted for you.
@Thumperchick
@Thumperchick Apparently she paid in cash and didn’t get a receipt… If I was there I would’ve told her to reject delivery, but I wasn’t
@hcavlnch @Thumperchick The charge was because it was forwarded to a new address. I don’t remember if Meh puts any endorsements on packages but postage would be charged either to the sender or receiver.

@hcavlnch @speediedelivery USPS has been more aggressive about charging forwarding fees in recent years.
@hcavlnch @Thumperchick The system to forward packages changed around then. More training and focus on the whole process. There was also a change that started charging postage due within the same zipcode a bit longer ago (I can’t remember how long but few years prior).

Details in section 2.3 https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/507.htm#ep1113059
Never seen that before. I would have refused delivery.
Edit: I was fully expecting to see a complaint about Pitney Bowes here.
@lichme me too… I was about to say:
“Problems with Pitney Bowes, never, they’re fast, efficient, and never smash my boxes or rip the tape off the top so the box is flapping open. Or send my package on circuitous routes around the country. Or keep a box in a warehouse not moving for two weeks in a row… Why do you ask?”.

FedEx told me my address doesn’t exist once (they had the correct address and had delivered here before and since) but they’re usually ok too. So was DHL when they still delivered in US.
@lichme Pitney Bowes hands it to USPS for final delivery, so they could still be involved…
PB hands it over? Not according to my tracking info. It’s been sitting in my town for 12 days now, just crying to be transferred to the USPS.
@Noddy93 Just business as usual.
I was thinking “is this a rhetorical question?” But I wasn’t expecting that!
For a moment there I thought you were asking “anyone else have any shitting issues” and I was going to weigh in.
@Felton10 How much do they usually weigh?
@ELUNO The one that is on the way 3 lbs 13 ounces.
@ELUNO The IRK-not my next shit just to clear things up.
@Felton10 Too late!
@ELUNO I know
I would’ve pointed to the rectangle with “Parcel Select. US Postage Paid. Newgistics.”
If he refused to give it to you, then let them have it. I have never heard of that, and it is crazy.
Hey there meh, the postman just left a package from you but he charged me $35.00. I didn’t get a receipt, sorry.
@therealjrn How high can we go?
@stinks My foot scrubbers came marked at $393.
Yes! Two of my packages bought during the meh-rathon last month are still not here.

@MaggieRaine But has it made it to your city, then been sent back to the opposite coast for another scenic tour?
What the hell is this Pitney Bowes facility nonsense on the shipping? Is Pitney the name of the mule they’re using to bring it to me? If so, he needs a little more giddy up in his get-along
@flyvfr a mule might even be faster
@flyvfr @spitfire6006006 They’re using a dead mule. RIP Pitney.
@blaineg @flyvfr @spitfire6006006 Turtle then.
My order has been sitting in Indiana at a Pitney Bowes facility for over a week. Ordered 20 days ago. Time to go back to just shopping on Amazon. Sheesh!

Was it a forwarded package? I think only first class gets forwarded for free.

Ya, I kind of have the same problem with a purchase, it has been stuck in NJ via Pitney bowes since 5/28
@egory1 Is it by chance in Monroe Township? Mine has apparently been there since 5/27 also.
I think it is all a plan by meh to make the shipping as crappy as the stuff they send us. They have succeeded.
I don’t understand the part where some people remember what they bought during the Mehrathon.
@walarney we look up our orders to see what we ordered and look up the tracking, otherwise it might be hard to remember.
My mid April IRK that I just received today , took a long while to get to me after taking a slight left from Atlanta and then deciding to take a scenic East coast trip up to Pennsylvania
I had an item that said it was out for delivery last Friday and now it’s “moving within the USPS network” whatever the heck that means.
@ptmatter Without seeing the details, I would guess it arrived at the wrong post office that day. The computer generates some of the messages including “out for delivery”. @ptmatter It shows in the picture above
@speediedelivery thanks again, I appreciate the help! I guess I need to expand all of the comments
@ptmatter It means it’s not actually moving.
Meh shipping is usually very slow, especially the last meh-a-thon. My last order Jabra .ear buds got here extremely fast
Yeah, my Meh-a-thon package started its journey on 20 May; it’s currently still AWOL somewhere in Seattle. Last seen at “Pitney Bowes Facility” on Friday morning. If Pitney is the name of the mule I assume the facility it’s in is a masoleum.

@ivannabc @Kidsandliz Remember the guy that was storing all that mail because it was to stressful to deliver it? He’s back.
A shipment from PastaDrop has been stuck in Greenville, IN since June 3.
