@Troy The photos show 10 pieces… Do you know if one of the lids fits 2 different pans (like the stock pot & the sauté pan, which shows a lid), or is the description inaccurate?
@ircon96 I noticed that as well and I presume that large lid fits two items but when you click on the Macy’s link that they provide, it shows the same picture but Macy’s calls it a 10 piece set. No matter it would just be nice to know.
@ircon96 the Macy’s ad shows in the what’s included as follows:
Set includes: 1-qt. saucepan and lid, 3-qt. saucepan and lid, 6-qt. stockpot and lid, 3-qt. sauté pan and lid, 8.5" frypan and 10" frypan.
Where meh’s description of what’s included does not have that fourth lid.
So my guess is they use the stock photo and it’s discounted cause we’re actually gonna get one lid that’s apparently worth over 150 bucks.
Which I’d be willing to give up another lid and make this thing free outside of shipping oh wait I’m a VMP so just give it to me for free and keep the other lid to Give it to someone else so they can have the 10 piece set.
I’m on the fence on this one.
I have one ceramic (very expensive) pan now and I actually love it. It cost as much as this entire set though, so not sure I’ll feel the same way. I’m mostly using stainless steel now, which is fine, but does occasionally stick/burn and becomes a huge pain in the ass.
@ACraigL stainless steel pans need seasoning/greasing beforehand, which can be a pain to clean; carbon steel woks really don’t get cleaned (because they utilize the layers of clad-on oils); ceramics you have to worry about time or something hot/sharp/heavy and the ceramic cracking.
@ACraigL@pakopako I don’t usually use stainless for anything but boiling water or heating liquids, so I’ve never tried it, but I’ve seen demos of the Leidenfrost effect, where you have to preheat the pan to the exact temp where moisture vaporizes before adding any oil or food. Supposedly, it acts like a nonstick coating by creating a layer of moisture between the food & the pan. I can’t envision myself being that precise.
@ircon96@pakopako I’ve used stainless steel without much issue, but to your point, it’s much more finnicky vs the ceramic that I have. Thinking I’ll hold off because we stack our stainless steel for space saving and I’d imagine that would be bad for ceramic.
@ACraigL@pakopako They do sell those pan protector pads, or you can DIY with cheap pot holders or something similar, like quilted fabric squares, silicone trivet pads, etc.

@ircon96 I could make a joke about AI counting, but the Macy’s link says it’s a 10 piece set
