Hi, I just went to check Amazon for something, and I saw on the front page that because of some customer survey that ranked them #1, they’re donating 5% of Amazon Smile-eligible purchases today only.
@OldCatLady Good for you!
I’m not so good at giving. Like my mom has places she gives to yearly or whatever, which seems to breed more and more letters soliciting donations. I give out in other ways, but maybe I should think about a more formal way, although I’m not very affluent, (just found out the opposite of affluent is not fluent).
Amazon seems to be pretty good with the donations.
@pitamuffin I have only once ever had my information seriously compromised on the Interwebs. It was done by Amazon, for their profit. So I don’t care how much they give away, or how else he spends his money, he’s been a crook since he started the company.
@brhfl Just checked on my trial, and Amazon kinda doesn’t want you to cancel it- they’ll extend the trial another 30 days, and have you click 3 times in a row that you want to cancel it (after the initial one).
Now I have to go buy stuff. Darn.

@Cerridwyn Probably the folks who benefit from the charitable donations.

I made use of this and accidentally started a Prime trial, so is it fair to blame you for this or does that still fall on @mikibell?
@brhfl blame @dashcloud… It is past my bedtime…
@brhfl just don’t forget to cancel it in a month…
@Kidsandliz Yep, it’s on the calendar.
