I had read about that probably a year ago. There is no way in heaven or hell I’d do that. Yes I greatly miss both my parents (my mom died in May so I am still dealing with having my grief triggered a lot - as this thread did - stupid of me to click) but this is NOT the way to come to terms with their deaths.

@zhicks1987 people can do what they like. But when there are affects on society, which there will be. Or something is clearly damaging. We can say it’s bad. And we can be aware of what fucked up people are doing and write laws.
Should there be a law that you can’t do this? Probably not.
Should there be laws about privacy, what happens when you create an AI avatar, how it and the information you give it are used? Like Europe has and our politicians are intentionally refusing to write?

Should you be giving your child a phone to talk to an image of his dead grandma since birth? Before his brain is fully formed. And when he tells it he sad it may help him commit suicide? Fuck no. Kids shouldn’t even be on social media never mind this

@januarymick This reminds me of that scene in the movie Rashomon, where the cast trying to figure out a murder decides to have a seance to determine what happened from the spirit of the deceased. Surely they’ll tell the truth. (Because no one in the movie has. Spoiler: the ghost doesn’t either.)
