This is a waste of USB-C and definitely doesn’t support fast charging.
Search for: How do I know if my USB-C cable supports fast charging?
For fast charging, manufacturers bump the voltage up from 5V to 9V or 12V and beyond, or increase amperage to 3A and above. The introduction of USB-C helps accomplish this with support for up to 100W and 20V, which makes faster charging speeds possible.Jul 27, 2022
@2many2no Was about to come in hot, with details on how USB-C doesn’t mean much without proper PD protocols, and how 300J of surge protection is rather wimpy…
But hat off to you - The telling was done, and the relative weakness is shown.
I am not often a big fan of Aduro, as one of the cheaper brands for charging accessories. They occasionally make something that I’ll buy, but this is a great example of one that looks great at first blush, and then turns into mush as soon as one scrutinizes those details. I would also honestly expect the AC plug to be a flat style, or at least some version of low-profile, given that this is supposed to be a space-saving design.
Not impressed. It’s not as bad as some things. But I have no interest anymore.
@2many2no@arosiriak Aduro makes a clamp-and-flexible-stem phone mount that’s utter crap, too. The head has a swivel joint that relies on a single under-3-mm plastic stub for all of its strength. Breakage is not a matter of if, but when.
Yeah with no USB PD or PPS support this is really no better than a $10 or $20 charger and worse in some cases. Crazy that the supposed retail is $80 for this. For $80 retail this thing should support PD 3.0 100W at min.
@phendrick Arduro Powerup Energy Bars are a cheap knock off of the Aduro ones. The Arduro ones you store in the fridge where they steal energy from the batteries in there so you don’t need a wall plug. Right @shahmn?
This is not a good deal at 20. They are huffing paint asking 80 on their website.
Their writeup is such delusional garbage as well.
With such weak and antiquated power output on the USB ports, this is a joke. The fact it has USB-C ports means it is new enough that these specs are quite embarrassing honestly.
They must have let the summer intern do purchases for this; “These things are $80! We can get them for $10 and sell 'em for double! Yaay!”
But serously, $20 for a $3 power strip and $3 5V USB charger? Two for Tu–thursday, maybe. Maybe $15 if it had USB QC; $20 w/ 60W USB PD

@thechinglish Not $10.99?
Night light?
Would be great for hotel rooms.
This is a waste of USB-C and definitely doesn’t support fast charging.
@2many2no Not to mention, that could be an aggregate number across all USB ports!
@2many2no i guess that’s why they don’t even mention anything about wattage on total and each port lol
@2many2no Yeah, without USB-C PD (Power Delivery), the ports aren’t useful for tablets or laptops.

@2many2no “ Output: 5V/4.2A” is 5V/1A (5W) per USB port.
Should be a two pack for this price.
Nice cloth-covered cord, just like appliances had in the 20s…the 1920s.
@Kerig3 Very retro, until sombody decides that real retro is bare copper across the tops of porcelain standoffs.
Specs here and the website don’t give me the USB-C power rating or protocol? Hard pass.
Looked on the interwebs and their site for a manual, no dice.
@dschonew
You’re welcome.
@dschonew @shahnm
3. Wonder why phone is saying three hours until fully charged.
I’m cancelling after hearing about the USB-C info… shame on you MEH! Agreed, should be a 2FUR at best!
Is it water proof?
@bugger for at least one use…
Will this support 440 volt charging for Arc Welders?
@bugger Only if you use both USB-C ports.
Do they use gold for all interior connectors? Like 2 or 3 Troy oz of gold? If so I’m in for only one. No need for 3

Didn’t Meh sell me a box of Arduro Powerup Energy Bars a while back? Don’t recall having to plug those in.

Manuelle is kill.
Hey they look nice. Kind of. Well. Alright. Terrible deal meh.
I am not charged up about this deal. Meh!
Output: 5V/4.2A
Nope.
Too weak to quickly power up iPhones and MacBooks.
@pixelated 24W, yeah. Weak.
Forget about the low output, low joules protection and high price.
Focus on the fact they have pretty colours. Easily worth $200.

@caffeineguy agreed!
Okay, but that’s a legit complaint.
(Go read the write-up.)
![enter image description here][1]
Yup-- I call BS on this one; charging a phone, laptop and tablet…
[1]:
@caffeineguy I’m sure it can… Just not very fast.
A toaster, really?? That laptop’s USB-A is certainly not being used to charge it, but you can charge your phone from your laptop
I’m glad this isn’t 2-for-$10, because then I’d probably end up with one more box in the laundry room closet that never gets opened .
@Commonwealth109 How do you put more boxes in the closet if it never gets opened?
@Commonwealth109 @werehatrack Do you not have a portal gun too?
@Commonwealth109 @yakkoTDI Mine is stuck on blue.
