Finally got approved for medical marijuana today, I have had some issues with pain and whatnot. Went to the dispensary and was making my first purchases when I was overwhelmed with the thought that I’m finally legal. After all these decades…
@moonhat thanks, I think of myself as an old hippie mostly. Woodstock was a little early (I was 11) but the 70s were so. much. fun. . It’s not at all the same thing, but I kinda understand how someone feels when they “come out” for the first time. I wasn’t prepared for the feeling of freedom just from knowing I was finally legal.
@llangley I’m so jealous, I bet the 70’s were fun! I always wish I’d been in my 20’s during that time instead of being a kid. I am turning 50 next year though and seriously considering throwing a 70’s (ok, disco) party to celebrate.
You’re so lucky. I live in a southern Bible Belt state (tho in a progressive city) where medical Mary Jane is still illegal. I have two brain tumors (benign for now! ) that wreck me sometimes from blinding, painful migraines. I’ve been through a ton of RX meds to help control the migraines, then I finally decided to try the wacky tobaccy and it has been life changing for migraine control. So much so that I’m considering moving to a state where I can get it legally—tho moving isn’t really an option because of finances. In the meantime I have to break the law to catch a break from pain.
Congrats bro! I can only imagine the feeling of freedom from illegally buying the life changing
pain management
@Gypsigirl213 I’m so glad you were able to find it and that it’s helping you . It just boggles my mind that most medicine still pushing to fill us with chemicals when a natural remedy already exists. And I’m finding that the quality is far better than the “street stuff”. IMHO.
@llangley the so called “natural remedy” has its own chemicals. Were it not for the legality issue I am sure that the pharma companies would have long ago (like they have done with other meds that originally were purified from plants) extracted the active ingredient(s), purified them, found the optimal “mix” and “dose”, patented that, given it a name far away from the street names and made a fortune.
@f00l haha I remember that too. In my circle of friends we’d say “toke and pass, TOKE AND PASS!!” Then one time someone said “pass and toke, PASS AND TOKE!!” It took awhile before we realized it was backwards and impossible. When we finally stopped laughing it became our new command.
There were also “International Bonging Rules” involving bongmasters, standing up lighters, and various penalties (missing your ‘turn’, reversing the order, double ‘turns’)…
thats wonderful! I’m so glad for you, L!!

@llangley If you’re in FL, there’s a pretty good FB group ‘Florida Medical Cannabis Patients’, with discussions of specific strains.
@llangley @moonhat What we can remember of the 70s… was indeed fun.
Hope it helps!
