I tried to make a concept like this a few years ago except more clearly structured.

I wanted to make it so you select a song and it would tell you what letters to type to play along with the song. The idea was to make it easier for a non-musically inclined person to play music.

I got as far as "Mary had a Little Lamb" and "Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star" before I learned about chords and octaves...then I gave up.
