I was pretty complimentary of the Sola bagged granola, and these bars are better. I’d be in for them this time but I still have four boxes that are no longer certified f r e s h
From the pic at the 2nd to last carousel dot, these appear to be 1.4 oz per bar, at least for that flavor. So 72 of them is 6.3 lb, or $3.81/lb. Decent deal for prepackaged junk food I guess.
@phr@ponagathos I get my kid a 3 lb Hershey’s bar every year (starting when they were turning 4, so 9 years now!) This year my first one got put into the attic with other presents and got found by mice and the second one was ordered via WalMart delivery and was delivered to a house with white vinyl siding (my house is off white aluminum and red brick), so after purchasing NINE pounds of chocolate I finally ended up with one under the tree
@MsELizardBeth@phr Oh man that sucks.
Are they still three pounds? I thought they were 2.5. Maybe that was the giant Reese’s cups?
I ended up not buying any. I still have a bunch of semi-sweet chips and M&M’s from last year in the freezer. My niece would have loved one but my sister would probably kill me. Her last dental visit was horrible. She likes her chocolate a bunch the teeth brushing not so much.
obviously whatever image generating tool Meh uses and Bing uses arn’t speaking the same language. I put that same phrase into Bing image and got this equally cool (but very different) image.
@cohortq@katbyter I had some yesterday and they didn’t taste stale to me in the slightest, so I bought another pack of 72 today. Perhaps another 3-6 months is my guess
@cohortq@troy. I’ve never had these before my recent Meh order, so I’m not sure what they’re like fresh. If this is what stale tastes like it’s fine by me.
My question is… how much of the “profit” for fire saleing these on meh goes to “SAVE LIVES.” I am guessing none. (As if putting a penny per dollar actually saves anything). So, deep-discounting these don’t achieve the marketing. Completely backwards.
I will eat crow if Meh tells me what organization they donate to, and I will actually call them and ask the really helpful cheery attractive woman who gets donations… so how much did “this save lives” just donate due to mehs order?
You all know the answer. Um. Who? Did these fall off a truck. Yea, we bought a shirt at a thrift store, there ya go. Donation made.
@KNmeh7 The manufacturer preloaded the donation into the cost recovered from the distributor. No entity downstream is expected to directly contribute anything anywhere. Consult the manufacturer for exact numbers about the per-unit benefit and its destination. No one outside of them is likely to have tracked it.
@werehatrack No shit, I don’t expect meh to donate to charity. They haven’t done shit for their VMPs who pay them.
I was… this product is such bullshit they had to say they donated something to charity to sell it. That snark should have been obvious. You have sold it before. “WE SAVE LIVES” Jesus H. Cristos. I hope the next chinese knock-off you sell you give a penny to a homeless person and title it “we save lives”
Come on. Shit on the product like you should. The review should have read sarcasm about EMS or Doctors these are not.
eating one as i order more. they’re pretty decent, and the nutritional stats are fine. also, there’s no way they’ll go stale quickly (based on my last bunch that also “expire” in january).
@catthegreat “best by” dates are of course just an estimation. usually they’re a lot worse in flavor or texture than they were new, but still perfectly edible… if your standards are low. And probably be still edible for another year or two… just don’t eat them if they’ve changed colors.
/showme actual starving children in America, but let’s be honest here this is just a way for corporations to cash in on a current thing. Fact is, kids in America are fat but have poor nutrition. Nutrition is the problem, not hunger

So if I eat these all in one sitting will it still save me?
If they save lives, we shouldn’t eat them… we should let them go out and do their thing.
@awk
/showme a snack bar saving a life
@mediocrebot is this somebody’s snack-related fetish??
@awk Looks like that guy missed Heimlich day at his first aid class.
@mediocrebot I wonder what kind of image the AI pulled the gentleman from…
I can tell this lady is very passionate about snack bars
/showme a snack bar saving a life, but try not to make it weird
@mediocrebot I’m pretty sure the SIEARK bar just killed that guy
@awk @mediocrebot looks like he is about to be beamed up by aliens
@mediocrebot AI text will never not be weird.
@awk at a minimum it decapitated the guy on the ground.
Best by date is Jannuary 2024. Glad we have a whole year to eat these, oh wait…
@hchavers I suspect there is little difference between “best” and “worst” here.
Got these the last time they went on sale. They’re not bad for being 33 cents a bar.
@tombroadcaster I remember seeing them for sale at Starbucks. I don’t remember the price, but it sure wasn’t 33 cents. Probably 10 times that.
@tombroadcaster With that glowing review I am probably going to get some

@phr Unless you swung by christmas clearance at Walmart yesterday and saw the 2.5 lb Hershey’s bar for $5.
@phr @ponagathos I get my kid a 3 lb Hershey’s bar every year (starting when they were turning 4, so 9 years now!) @mediocrebot so that’s what the penguins were talking about.
@mediocrebot Nailed it!

@OnionSoup See my results from the same showme below.
/showme Dark Chocolate & Peanut Butter is made with creamy peanut butter, dark chocolate, and peanut chunks and is dairy-free
@mediocrebot looks pretty good, actually.
and I love me some Preoolat Prans.
/showme soylent green snack bars is people!
@mediocrebot greeen is greener than regular green
@pmarin - these were very tasty. Only produced during 2022, which is a shame I would buy these all the time.
@mediocrebot The AI almost got the text that time. Almost!
Last time the 72-pack was $36. So getting closer to the expiration date knocks off a third? I’m in for more!
@katbyter how long would you say these are good for after expiration date?

These are gonna be stale af
I still have a bunch of these so I’m not going to buy more, but they’re tasty and good to keep in the office for the hangries.
Why not?! 44¢ each (w/ tax and shipping). Decent specs comparatively for 1/3 the price; sufficient reviews.

@JWhirly hmmm, interesting. Let’s hope not!

/showme a chocolate-bar in a chocolate bar eating other chocolate-bars. Yes, they eat each other in a fun scene. Include bite marks and teeth
In for one, given the overwhelmingly positive comments from the previous purchasers.

@yakkoTDI Not bad, but the interas could use a bit more ckpipersers and the pacck hat is the wrong shade of efametactn.
/showme people actually saving lives
Ordered these last time. Cheap, but unimpressive - agree with other reviewers that the flavor is okay, but not great along all three varieties.
To me, the bigger issue is that, even though they had not yet technically expired, they all tasted pretty stale. Will not be ordering again.
WHAT HAPPENED to my free shipping
bhershlaw@att.net
How could you send them out on the best buy date of Jan. 6, 2024. I received them on that date. Only starving people would eat them .
