On the one hand, it might not really have aloe in it. Saponin isn’t good for dogs, either. On the other hand, if the maker thought that aloe would be a selling point for dog or cat owners, then they probably can’t be trusted to select pet safe ingredients in general.
Does anyone have a dog roller like me? If you’ve had dogs, you know it’s pretty cut and dry. Either your dog rolls in the foulest things on earth, or they don’t. My dogs are Treeing Walker Coonhounds, and the breed is the most hyper of all the coonhounds. Google it. My female, Hazel, can track a scent as well as her grandfather --he won the UKC Coonhound World Championship I believe in 2004–but instead of finding a raccoon in a tree and barking at it until the hunter comes, Hazel’s specialty is hurling her body down on ANY decaying animal in one second, or less. She is also as fond of any age of any species of mammalian poop; she’s not picky! She’s the one who sleeps in my bed. Will these wipes be used? You bet! When she has to get in my car to return home from a state park walk, there aren’t many bathing options. These wipes will help greatly.
So, roller or no? I am curious how many people have one?
@ZooDoctor I’ve never had a dog that liked to lay on her back like I see all the time in videos. Maybe because of that, I almost never had one roll in nasty stuff. Off the top of my head, I can think of one time over the course of three dogs.
@ZooDoctor Yup, our boxer/greyhound mix rolled on a dead decaying sneck before I could stop her.
It was very difficult to neutralize that smell, although it was nothing like as difficult as skunk spritz, but still.
Be careful taking dogs to State Parks. My friend had one dog that almost died from Kidney Failure and the other dog was in Vet Hospital for about a week. They pick up the disease from wild animal urine, and Humans can contract it as well. There is a vaccine for it, but not always effective. The vaccinated dogs can continue to shed the bacteria in urine. BTW, my BF dogs like to roll in Deer Poop or any stinky things they can find. Big Pair of Basset Hound Boys… The disease is Leptospirosis. Beware and hopefully no one else’s dogs will contract. Doggy Dialysis was estimated at 10K a treatment… That’s Just Crazy Bob!
@Mandamm Ours are both Lepto Vaxxed, but if I can keep them from any poop at all I do.
That said, we have deer, and every other NE-USA wildlife living in the yard with them/us, so it’;s hard to know what they might be exposed to exactly. I do know that our retriever[?]-mix boyo has played with an opossum [alive, but playing dead] and a woodchuck [actually dead], but the vet said no special treatment was needed.
Can I ask: why did you single out State Parks?
Just curious.

Will this help express my dogs “glands”? When they get too full they leak all over the floor, it stinks and it’s oily
@chiefbugbung Just have them watch this video:
@chiefbugbung You gotta squeeze 'em.
@chiefbugbung @Pufferfishy But then they’ll look at you funny…
Don’t need these. I bought the bidet the other day, and am now training my dog.
(She has not yet mastered the trick, but she is not an old dog…)
How about the Dude bidet for a dog? The Pooch!?
Any idea if these are safe for cats?
@pyroguy7 No, don’t feed these to a cat.
@pyroguy7 Probably not safe for the person attempting to use them on a cat.
@pyroguy7 I’m not gonna risk it for cats.

@ZooDoctor Yep.
@phendrick @ZooDoctor Dead worms and bird poop were her favorite things to roll on!

@Mandamm Wow. I have never heard of any of this! Thanks for sharing!
@ZooDoctor I am a Nurse RN, and a Crazy Dog Lover as well. I had never heard of it either. Scary. You can read up on it online as I did. Safe travels.

what’s the size of the wipes?
@ulnek
8.6 x 6.1" can be seen on the photos. 21 x 15.5 cm
@ulnek and what noxious and unsafe active and inactive ingredients are they hiding [by purposely not showing the listing…]??
This is definitely a (s)wipe left situation.
Can I use these on my börthole
@thechinglish I don’t see why nört
@thechinglish had to look that up…
Bidets. Dog butt (and other areas) wipes. Does Meh have a butt fetish? Then there’s all that men’s underwear they sell…
Is “Wipe Right” a pun on “Swipe Right”, which is kinda disturbing on a pet product, or has the internet just ruined me?
@triavalon
yes
So if you make a habit of wiping your dog’s butt, will they decide to stop cleaning themselves? Pampered pet syndrome?
Nice writeup today, enjoyable and entertaining as usual.
“Or she had a playdate with a friend and got a little slobbery.”
