Hey, if someone wants to give me a tax credit, I would agree to test drive these keto brownie bites. Although why they want to bite me, I have no idea.
daily calories broken down into optimal amounts of fat, protein, and carbohydrates, the latter of which usually tops out…
Not “latter”, KetoMojo (whoever you are), but “last”. “Latter” is the second of two items. The same way “better” is the superior of two items. “Last” (and “best”) are for three or more.
Looks like it’s only the second when there are only two items total (see 2.). In this case, I think it would be “occurring nearer to the end of something than to the beginning” (as in 1.).
Still worth pointing out that I didn’t have any hand in the write-up so I don’t have a horse in this race.
I’m actually quite grateful for the keto and near-keto products. Not that I’m into keto per se, but they tend to be more suitable for my diet. So, there, ya bastards.
I have a childhood friend who shared her keto journey on Instagram. Swears it helped her weight and to help her conceive. But recently it landed her in the hospital because of what it did to her body after maintaining the diet for years. She has permanent damage done to her body. It’s terrifying that something sold as healthy could do so much harm.
I’m sure the treats are fine and the diet is fine in moderation. But can we move on from this keto BS?
@outsourced_bob She described it as plaque developing inside of her, buildup of several kidney stones, and a ureter block (which is where the permanent damage is, if I read it correctly).
@GospelX@outsourced_bob
Exactly- the unhealthy fat profiles are “atherogenic”.
“Atherogenic” means having the capacity to initiate, increase, or accelerate the process of the deposition of atheromas*, lipids, and calcium in the arterial lumen. Atherosclerosis is a pattern of the disease arteriosclerosis, characterized by development of abnormalities called lesions in walls of arteries. These lesions may lead to narrowing of arterial lumens* [interior space] due to the buildup of atheromatous plaques. At onset there are usually no symptoms, but if they develop, symptoms generally begin around middle age. These eventually lead to development of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and other diseases caused by restrictions of blood flow.
**Lumen
In biology, a lumen is the inside space of a tubular structure, such as an artery or intestine. It comes from Latin lumen ‘an opening’. It refers to: the interior of a vessel, such as the central space in an artery, vein or capillary through which blood flows…
I’m a little suspicious at them including three sugar substitutes (four if you count chicory), but maybe it’s just to avoid it tasting too much like one or the other. I’ll try 'em, almonds and chocolate is hard to mess up.

I don’t want to spend $25 on food I might not like. Five bags for $12.50 I would be okay with.
@Pony
…and where is the nutritional breakdown? These “Keto-Friendly” things don’t tend to have healthy fat profiles…
Just sayin’
What’s with all this Keto? This must be like the EV campaign, pushing a “better” product no one wants to buy.

Those little brownie girls have sharp teeth and need to use them somewhere.

Just one of those things that bugs me.
@SSteve I’ll blame the dictionary.

@ExtraMedium @SSteve
But it sounds like you stuck your nose in it.
@ExtraMedium I know you weren’t the author of the quote. That’s why I called out KetoMojo by name. You are without sin.
@SSteve
Re: “You are without sin…”
Maybe a qualifier ought to have been included or specified?
@SSteve
Unless you’re a priest or the actual second coming and have absolved him of any sins…
@PhysAssist @SSteve
“Unless you’re a priest or the actual second coming”
The latter being (theoretically) the best and last (Revelations).
Why ruin my brownie junk food with this??? If I am going to eat brownies it will be real brownies.
@Kidsandliz
Plus I need to use up the brownie mixes I bought previously…
/showme creamy mossy smile
With keto brownies.
@mediocrebot dear lord that is simply horrific. I’m impressed.
I’m actually quite grateful for the keto and near-keto products. Not that I’m into keto per se, but they tend to be more suitable for my diet. So, there, ya bastards.
@joelmw And, to wit, the Birch Benders stuff currently up on Side Deal is quality; I just happen to be well-stocked at the moment.
@joelmw proper!
@joelmw
Same!
Too bad they’re wasting all that packaging putting just six in each bag
Most likely taste like somebody already ate them…

@GospelX
What happened to your friend?
Keto gone wrong (eating primarily animal fats) jacked my cholesterol levels…

Why does the bag in the picture in the email say ‘LETO FARMS’?
@PooltoyWolf Google is your friend: https://www.google.com/search?q=jared+leto+empire+state+building&client
@taxdude I guess that’s meant to be him on the side of the bag? The reference was too cryptic for me.
Why ever would I want to bite the junior Girl Scouts who hang around with OJ Simpson’s houseguest??
There was a missed opportunity to put a wombat in the last photo…
Bit scared of this one, maybe this is an ominous sign…

@rhliu89 That probably impressed the proctologist.

Bought them. Didn’t care for them. I’ll send them to the first person willing to pay for shipping.
