I bought the vanilla almond flavor last time these went up, and I like em pretty well as a post-workout snack. I’d go in for more if I didn’t still have three bags to get through
Its not really granola, its a lot of soy crisps and some bits of almond and flavor… It is “okay” and does work out as a substitute for granola. Taste is decent. If you want something that has more variety and texture the Nu trail Keto granola has better taste and texture.
Now they sale the variety pack. I still have the Almund and Strawberry from the Mehathon. Even though they taste pretty good, I am tired of adding crunches to everything.
This product uses 4 different artificial sweeteners, two of which are reported as suspicious and possibly carcinogenic (allulose and erythritol). Just not worth taking a chance with these. Stevia and Monk Fruit at this point in time still appear to be healthy products.
@MehMom This keeps coming up, but I’ve yet to see any science or report that these are “possibly carcinogenic”. Every single study I’ve seen or can find shows that it wrong. Now if you want a REAL reason that actually has any backing besides internet rumors about not wanting artificial sweeteners - then erythritol has been linked to heart attacks and strokes. Even in recent studies it was shown, in large quantities, to have a pretty strong link. I was a bit suspicious of the results because a lot of these are backed by the sugar industry which has one of the deepest pocket lobby organizations, but they seemed to all check out.
@Artimid@MehMom Any suspicions concerning the perfidy of the sugar industry are well founded, they have produced some remarkably convincing distortions in the past. Erythritol has been around long enough that one would think that any linkage to a serious health issue would have made itself apparent previously, but then again, look how long the sugar industry suppressed the blatant evidence that an overly carb heavy diet caused diabetes. It can go both ways. Particularly in the field of nutrition, pseudoscience has persisted for long periods because of the influence of highly opinionated people who really didn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground about the subject. It wouldn’t be difficult for the sugar industry to run a smear campaign on their principal competition, and give the appearance of solid support. Not that they really need to in this case, given the number of people for whom all of the sugar alcohols are digestively problematic in the area of causing diarrhea bordering on IBD.
@MehMom Neither of these has been found to be carcinogenic. And the recent Erythritol “study” that showed it to be bad for you, this was the “science” behind it: Take the blood of 100 seventy year old men (only men, btw). Don’t ask them if they have heart disease or diabetes. See how much Erythritol they have in their blood. Three years later find out whether those men have had a heart attack or died. Tie that to the amount of erythritol was in their blood three years ago, not whether they had any other condition. Shameful that people reported on that as an actual scientific study.

@outdoorslife @Kidsandliz So you’re saying this puts the “no” in granola?
@ircon96
Got those that got this before, are you just putting it on yogurt? Or is there other good ways to eat it lol?
@scilynt Just like Food Games, the only way to win is to not eat them.

LOL lose the “sugar” but add 3 different alternative sweeteners…
In what household can lasagna last 4 days?
Does any real place actually have the low headcount combined with the high will power to make it last beyond lunch the next day?
@xobzoo maybe they’re meh-rationing
@xobzoo Yes. Mine. Lasagna leftovers persist for a week or more. Sometimes we freeze portions. There’s just the two of us, both light eaters.
Still waiting for a snack that’s safe for nut allergies…
@JoJoBeardFace Stroopwafels?
I still have a few bags left. Love it with some OAT milk in the morning or a late night snack that somewhat healthier
