If you aren’t legitimately allergic to gluten or just have money to completely blow, this is a terrible choice. Even for meh prices these boxes are half size and four times the price of regular cereal. Even a lot more than other healthy cereal.
Is it time to say goodbye MEH… We’ve been so good together. My wife said to me. “Good job cutting back on buying from the MEH site” Little does she know.
@chiefbugbung@chiefbugbung LOLZ At first glance w/o reading glasses I read it as “Triad Housewife” & my mind flash backed to 80s/90s HK Action flicks!

@ErikRL Agreed. Cinnamon literally tastes like cardboard. Pandan and strawberry are okay but just… worse than pretty much any other sweetened cereal I’ve had. And that’s the big problem - these have a lot of sugar in them! And they still taste like crap!
I don’t know if I’ll even be able to finish the other 3 boxes I got from the last order…
Those saying they’re quitting Meh over this are being dramatic. Sure it’s a bit annoying to see stuff like this more often, but just wait for the next deal. You save money every time you don’t buy!
Note for allergies: Peanuts are not actually nuts, but legumes, just like lentils, pea, etc. Sadly, the pervasiveness of pea protein, pea fiber, pea protein concentrate in so many products these days may be an issue for those with fellow legume allergies, particularly because they concentrate the protein. (i.e. I’m allergic to peas, lentils, peanuts, but products like these are worse than just injesting peas because the concentrated protein).
I’ll also add that the “product made in a facility that… or may contain traces of…” warnings are much more significant for smaller scale products, particularly as they tend to make many of their [weird health-food-analogous] products on the same machinery. i.e. even if one of these products did NOT contain pea fiber, I’d avoid the entire brand. I’ll stick with my arsenic or chemically treated cheerios, thanks.
@caffeineguy I cannot express how pissed off I get about schools banning PB while serving crap with loads of undisclosed allergens. If they want a truly allergen-free food stream for the students, they literally can’t serve anything at all.
@caffeineguy@werehatrack You’re old-school if you think educators, especially administrators, were hired because they’re smart. No. They were hired because they checked most of the boxes adhered to by the previously-hired crowd.
(“Those who can’t do, teach. Those who can’t teach, administrate.”
And also, there is the Peter Principal. (Not to be confused with the principal who might actually be a dick.)
Got these last time - not bad. So far I’ve only gotten into the pandan.
They’re basically like Kix but with a little bit of flavor. It’s not a strong overpowering taste.
These things stay really crunchy for a long time in milk.
Debating getting more but there’s not a whole lotta room in the pantry…
Got em last time, the assorted pack. Cinnamon literally tastes like cardboard. Pandan was decent, but I’ve never had pandan before so I can’t say whether or not it’s authentic flavor. Strawberry is okay, but it’s like “la croix strawberry” compared to strawberry koolaid or something.
Biggest sin is that, for all their lack of real flavor, these still manage to have quite a lot of sugar in them. Might as well just get the store brand captain crunch, and it’ll be cheaper too.
@goldnectar Well, if someone had gotten them last time and decided that only one of the flavors was palatable… then they should probably just not buy again.
(I almost completely agree with you, though there’s the slight possibility that someone might really prefer one of the flavors over the others. So I support having the choice, even though I would expect most people to pick the variety pack.)
But looking at the numbers right now, it appears about ⅓ of the sales have been individual flavors. I am very surprised.
@xobzoo I don’t think much of that 1/3rd was by choice. The multi pack sold out quickly so others were forced to choose from the single flavor if they wanted to try it. Even if it tasted like Cocao Puffs (my favorite childhood cereal), I’m not sure it would still be my favorite after eating the 6th box in a row.

Time for all the cereal killers to start shopping.
/giphy cereal killer
Can any of those beat Raisin Bran with a bit of Sugar/Honey poured into it?
@AaronLeeJohnson Anything can beat Raisin Bran IMO.
/showme a serial killer actually killing cereal
@mediocrebot dig it, awesome!
POPSOCKETS! COURT DOCKETS! FOLK ROCK HITS! AWESOME!
@mediocrebot I love the gnomey henchman
Why is Vegan off-limits? Because they don’t want meatings.
I got these last time. They taste okay. They don’t give me crippling diarrhea. That’s my checklist for Meh food purchases.
@awk that’s the mehist endorsement I’ve ever read.
Pandan shouldn’t taste like vanilla.
Pandan should taste like pandan.
Kinda coconut like.
@Narwalt I saw 3 lines and thought it was a Haiku, but it was not. So…
Pandan vanilla?
Narwalt says it’s not the same
So now I don’t know
@pmarin
Pandan is a leaf
It’s used in many desserts
Tastes like coconut
@Narwalt I came here to say this.
If you aren’t legitimately allergic to gluten or just have money to completely blow, this is a terrible choice. Even for meh prices these boxes are half size and four times the price of regular cereal. Even a lot more than other healthy cereal.
Still meh.
Not again!
MEH has hit rock bottom. No more stereo receivers, vacuums, wine glasses…cereal I wouldn’t feed my dog. MEH you SUCK!!!
@k9mckaig heh. So… you’re on the fence?
Shouldn’t they have “Taste-Free” as a description?
Is it time to say goodbye MEH… We’ve been so good together. My wife said to me. “Good job cutting back on buying from the MEH site” Little does she know.
@bugger my wife said the same thing
It’s made by trad house wives with too much time.
@chiefbugbung Unfortunately the box designs are a little too eccentric for a trad house wife.
@chiefbugbung @wplumleyz The boxes look like a fourth-grade art project.
@chiefbugbung @chiefbugbung LOLZ At first glance w/o reading glasses I read it as “Triad Housewife” & my mind flash backed to 80s/90s HK Action flicks!

holy crap these are terrible.
absolute trash.
Bought them last time they came up, nobody in the house will touch them. one of the dogs wont even eat it.
do yourself a favor… run far and fast.
@ErikRL Agreed. Cinnamon literally tastes like cardboard. Pandan and strawberry are okay but just… worse than pretty much any other sweetened cereal I’ve had. And that’s the big problem - these have a lot of sugar in them! And they still taste like crap!

@PooltoyWolf I’ll just quit meh for today then. Come back 12am tomorrow.
@EvilSmoo @PooltoyWolf maybe you should get some sleep instead…
@EvilSmoo @PooltoyWolf 9pm Pacific for me!
/showme breakfast cereal worth a million dollars
@mediocrebot that’s one prompt it always does fairly well.
@EvilSmoo @mediocrebot That must be yoghurt or ice cream in the bowl, since I don’t think [healthy] milk usually mounds up like that.
These are the type of deals that keep me coming back to Meh!
Do yourself a favor and buy as much as you can! You will have no regrets!
@Drez143 No regrets? The most (in)famous product offering has regret right in the name!
Pea protein and sugar

“Less bullshit…”
11g added sugar per serving.
@peabs007 The sugar amount kills them for me. They have the sugar of something like captain crunch, but not the flavor - so what’s the goddamn point?
Maybe if you’re gluten sensitive I guess?
Too many carbs, too much sugar, almost no protein… MEH
/showme the breakfast apocalypse with cereal bombs exploding in the air

Cereal killers rejoice!
What is the Fiber content ???
@retired44 I think you will need to eat the box to get much. The nutritional facts say 4-7% depending on the cereal.
/showme Flex zombies with a spark
@mediocrebot Seeing a lot more spark than flex. And they seem mostly intact, for zombies.
“Freshly squeezed strawberry juice provides a burst of sweetness”
Nope! It’s the fact that the 2nd ingredient is SUGAR.
This should be only multi packs. Who wants six boxes of any single flavor of cereal?
@goldnectar Well, if someone had gotten them last time and decided that only one of the flavors was palatable… then they should probably just not buy again.
(I almost completely agree with you, though there’s the slight possibility that someone might really prefer one of the flavors over the others. So I support having the choice, even though I would expect most people to pick the variety pack.)

@goldnectar Oh, good point. Since I wasn’t buying, I hadn’t noticed (or even considered) the variety pack being sold out.
/showme transient toasty fighter
@mediocrebot I’m pretty sure that’s Gaelic.
My purchase code is perfect lol
/showme guiltless lengthy spoon
@majorpun Your showme command has to be the only line in your comment, I think.
@majorpun /showme guiltless lengthy spoon
@majorpun @PocketBrain And it has to be in a new comment, not a reply
/showme guiltless lengthy spoon
@mediocrebot That does look like a rather nice spoon.
That’s also a pretty fitting order number. I approve. (seal of approval)
Yay, it’s here! Good thru… Today.
@PocketBrain So eat some today, and then eat some tomorrow, and see if it tastes different.
Huh. I wonder if these will get cheaper like the hummus?
