My cat does not like this but I think it smells edible… I will donate the remainder to nearby guy who lives by day at the Park in his van with 10 cats… I’m sure they’ll appreciate it
@shells
Smells edible for who… You or the cat?
That’s super sweet of you to share.
I’m scared to give wet food to my cat again, every time he’s tried it he’s gotten diarrhea. What a mess that is on his long thick coat, nevermind his poor stomach.
@Lynnerizer@shells yeah… Really can’t win with cats. Wet food on a sensitive stomach and you might clean up messes from both ends. On the other hand dry food can cause urinary crystals, diabetes, kidney problems.
@Lynnerizer@OnionSoup@shells I have a neighbor who lets his huge cat roam and kill and eat birds and other prey - he claims it’s a healthy diet for him, but it’s a drag for the bird population. I don’t mind if he eats the mice and rats, and I suppose it’s good to keep the rabbit population down. But sometimes I find partially-eaten dead baby bunnies and that’s sad.
@Kyeh@Lynnerizer@shells not sure even letting them hunt for food is as healthy either… That way they get exposed to toxins, parasites, and bacteria. It’s probably more balanced to the nutrition they need though.
Like humans though. Needed nutrition is probably on an individual animal basis.
@Kyeh@Lynnerizer@shells yes. We actually had that happen to our cat back in England. Neighbour poisoned the rats in her barn and our cat got very sick (presumably ate a rat). Definitely used up one of his 9 lives.
@Lynnerizer ha! I’m vegetarian (since ‘95) and super sensitive to smells… so it smelled edible to me which is saying a LOT! I find most meat and all sea food smells revolting af… anyways, just saw this convo… and yeah it’s sad to see cats kill birds… they seem to do it more for sport than food… in Florida it’s usually an endless anole (small lizard) hunt for cats… they like to keep their kill ratio high in life
@Kyeh@Lynnerizer@OnionSoup my friend just lost her cat Whozit from this same thing in Tampa… so sad. They were devastated and their remaining cat has been on a hunger strike for the last 2 months since it happened.
@Lynnerizer@OnionSoup@shells Oh, no.
My cat is strictly an indoor cat - and seems to be fine with it! He was brought to the Humane Society as a stray, so I suspect he had to survive outdoors for longer than he wanted to, and is happy to be inside. He must have started out in a house though because he’s got impeccable litterbox manners. (Yeah, I’m bragging about my cat again .)
One of our cats is an indoor/outdoor cat, random stray who adopted us, showed up at our backdoor heavily pregnant with kittens in 100+F weather begging to come in.
She’s had too much experience with the outdoors we’re unable to convert her to an indoor cat. She was a little bit wild when she came to us but she’s 100% tame now… Just can’t stand to be indoors for too long.

If I feed my cat evolve car food what will it evolve into? Arnt cats already the pinnacle of evolution?
wonder where it was made?
@gigi889 Netherlands, really. BTW, my cat loves this stuff. Bought it twice. Your results may vary.
Both of my cats love this food. I’ve bought it twice now, (3) 45 packs, and now (4) 45 packs (off side deal a few weeks ago).

No food is safe for cats. Can’t win.

@Lynnerizer @OnionSoup @shells I agree. There’s also the risk that he’ll catch a rodent that’s eaten rat poison.

@Lynnerizer @OnionSoup @shells Wow, I’m glad he survived, though.

@Kyeh @Lynnerizer @shells all but one of our current cats is a pampered indoor cat.
