The Amazon listing says 100% polyester, but that is a deceptively inexact term; it basically just means “made from indeterminate-length chained organic molecules”, and could be any of a number of plastics either in fabric or film form. At four bucks per, I’m betting that there’s no waterproofed cloth involved. And living in a swampy climate, plastic film ponchos are only an expedient, not a go-to thing for frequent usage. Pass.
Most of the rain here also comes with high winds so I see these as being more of a nuisance than a help but I’m in for the gold ones. Covers my favorite sport team colors (black and gold, old gold and blue), and looks close to traditional rain slicker color.
I bought these last time under the impression that they packed down small enough to stash in my give compartment. They don’t. When packed down, they are the size of the bum cushion. They won’t even fit a in decent sized purse.
