4x SecureBrite Pop-Up Lanterns with Flashlight & Emergency Flash
@AaronLeeJohnson These are a little bit different than the last lanterns we sold. Nobody buy the domain foodandlights.com because I’m thinkin’ about it
The similar units of the same brand from a previous sale were okay. I burned through a bunch of batteries in them during the last Dramatic Weather event.
@shaungreen426 These are AA, so while you could stuff AAAs in there (with a bit of cheating), you don’t need to count them against the AAA world supply.
(I agree, though. While I’m glad they’re at least AA, I still feel like a light of this size would be better off using a bigger battery.)
I wonder if these could look any more like Daleks without violating some copyright.
(I suppose I could 3D print some attachments if I -really- had to.)
Every year at the ‘Holiday in December’ my kids, and now a few of my Grandkids get “Dad Crap”. Basically a few things from Meh…and almost always something that’s ‘3- or 4- for’. These will definitely be in someone’s Dad Crap present for 2025
@Frankstacko Make sure you facilitate your grandkids being able to read books under the covers after they are supposed to be in bed for the night (as we did in kids - under the covers so the flashlight light wouldn’t show under the door when parents passed by). You can justify that to their parents by saying you are being a good grandparent encouraging reading.
Anybody seen the light quality from these? Hopefully not old cold blueish LED creepy. Maybe like the COB (not corn) ones sold recently? There are some nice new (last few years) “natural light” LED lamps from tool companies that use their pop-in battery systems. But much more expensive. Don’t need these… thinking about it!
If you want to keep these in your car trunk or other location “for emergency use” be SURE to keep the batteries shunted. Or remove altogether and store alongside the device. Most battery-included devices (I don’t think these are?) are shipped with a shunt tab you pull out to use the item. Most people discard it immediately. Even the best name-brand batteries left in a device long-term have a 90% or greater probability of leaking before that “emergency use” is needed, and your device will be useless - at least without some minor-to-major emergency repairs and fresh batteries.

Secure a bright dystopia with “AI”.
@DrunkCat That’s a little better. They still may need more convincing to come back though.

/showme a bright dystopia with “AI”
@yakkoTDI Please resubmit your comment in the form of a showme prompt.
I share this person’s deep concerns about AI, and what can happen when it’s abused.
Let the
forcelight be with you.You light up my life!
OK, the write-up was pretty good.
It’s back so soon? There must be a lot of them in your warehouse. I shouldn’t complain. Better than your silly T-shirts.

@AaronLeeJohnson @troy So, in case meh goes back to it’s roots, people can still buy the domain FoodLightsKnivesSpeakerDocks.com as you don’t want that one, banking on that would never happen. Right?
Are the user’s guides for these pop-up books?
The similar units of the same brand from a previous sale were okay. I burned through a bunch of batteries in them during the last Dramatic Weather event.
Are there enough AAA batteries in the world to fill all the lanterns sold on meh!?

Love the Blair Witch picture
@bugdave Thanks for enlightening me - I didn’t know what that was from. (Never saw the movie.)
@Kyeh add it to the halloween horror binge list for 2025!

@mehcuda67 Exterminate!

@Frankstacko @Kidsandliz Or make it sound practical by pretending it’s a start to hurricane/earthquake/tornado/alien attack prep.

Still have several of these floating around from almost five years ago.

@pmarin I was curious about that too; I found videos on the QVC site; looks like they’re not too chilly-looking -
https://www.qvc.com/securebrite-set-of-4-large-cob-lanterns-w-hook-%26-handle.product.V84717.html
@pmarin I really wish that they’d all publish the color temp, as I absolutely will not buy anything under 5000K and I prefer 6000K.
When I read the line
I saw it as murdered in confusion.
Shady-joyful-pear

No longer shady, I guess

Got ‘em and they work just like it said on the tin. Good for family camp kit - (just store batteries separate like drz said above)
Only nitpick is emergency red LEDs have only fast/slow blink option.
One more click with solid red would have made a perfect lantern for
camp all around use.
Maybe that’s the upcoming 4 for $20 deluxe version
