But “@DrunkCat” you might lose them forever if they like the “AI” pictures better than the ones from the panda and I’m guessing that would break your heart.
@Doodpants@mcanavino All of my cameras are reusable. But I don’t use the ones that require film anymore, because the bytes of storage on the SD cards are even more reusable.
@fgmart thanks! I have so many old 35mm rolls that needs developing. It will be fun seeing what’s on them. Now I just have to remember where I put them. Oh the joys of old age
Looking around online, the film loaded in these is Kodak Vision3 500T with the remjet removed. So, it’ll process fine in C-41 chemicals, but it’s technically a cross process and you might end up with a weird color cast.
On the other hand, even for 24exp, $5 is a decent deal for cine film, so I’m in.
@Eugene0567@werehatrack Film is REAL. Oh, those were the days. I used to do B&W 35mm myself, and develop and print it in a darkroom. It was fun. I had my mother pay for it but probably she did not have the money.
I remember, a school photography teacher said if you take a roll of 24- or 36- exposure film, getting one good image you are happy with is the most you should expect.
@Eugene0567@pmarin I still have my darkroom stuff up in the attic, in case my daughter wants it at some point. For me, the appeal has vanished. And I even have halftone screens.
A 35mm roll of film cost more than 128gb digital card
Which goes a long way towards explaining the myriad pictures people have on their phone of crap that means nothing! The concept of framing, lighting, composition, etc is becoming a lost art.

This deal is Off the charts!!
Where do you get film developed these days? Drug store chains?
@sfwineguy I would probably buy these if I had a good answer. Anyone?
@sfwineguy
Walmart.
But they send it to a central lab now.
So you have to wait about a week.
@Narwalt Thanks!
@Odysseus1001 @sfwineguy yeppers most any popular drugstore chain or Walmart. Possibly Target, Kroger and Meyers.
@sfwineguy I’m spoiled by having Colonial Photo & Hobby around the corner.
@Odysseus1001 @sfwineguy
Yeah. Walmart for one… which makes sense since ONN is a Walmart store brand.
@Narwalt @sfwineguy What! Delayed Gratitude??? ohhhhh
@sfwineguy
@Odysseus1001 @sfwineguy
Walgreens & CVS also
Well, OK then
wow, these are cheaper than buying most single rolls of film
if you’re attending a wedding, could be fun to buy a bunch for guests to use
@thechinglish Then have everyone start huffing the benzene and borax developing fluids?
hah, nice Rear Window shop
@thechinglish photo shop of a Rear Window photo shoot, to be exact
/youtube duran duran girls on film
Meh is reloading a lot of sales. Would be really nice to get some new loads.
Give these cameras to a panda and you would still have better pictures than “AI”.
@DrunkCat Have they called yet?
@DrunkCat AI is probably used to develop 35mm film these days. And a panda packages up the photos for shipping.
But “@DrunkCat” you might lose them forever if they like the “AI” pictures better than the ones from the panda and I’m guessing that would break your heart.
On 4/20, even.
@PooltoyWolf Lame 4/20 joke today. Instead of 4 for $20, they could have sold those lawn gnomes with the weed.
@cengland0 Maybe they finally sold out?
@PooltoyWolf Possibly but no other 4/20 items for sale? Nothing other than 4 for $20 deal?
@PooltoyWolf
… and boys will be boys!
Lol

Why?
Can I get the the $100 for $20 deal instead of 4 of these for $20.
@kittykat9180 Some 4/20 ago, Woot sold dime bags. 100 dimes for $20 (+ $5 shipping).
They sold out.
What we used to call “cameras” back in my day are now apparently called “reusable cameras”.
@Doodpants Because most encounters with film from are from one-time-use cameras.
@Doodpants @mcanavino All of my cameras are reusable. But I don’t use the ones that require film anymore, because the bytes of storage on the SD cards are even more reusable.
I use filmdeveloping.co for developing, scans, and prints. They’ve been good.

@candiedisilvio1 @fgmart Like most things it is mostly “store in a cool dry place” and the dates don’t matter as much.
In the old days, film had expiration dates. When do these expire? In 90 days?
@arosemena no, sometime in mid-2026

I actually just processed my first roll of this, and it isn’t 500T. It’s 250D.

@Eugene0567 And an SD card can be reused, where film can’t.

Overheard after giving one of these to a niece: “what does rewind mean?”
@walarney
Love it!
