@mehrrychristmas@troy Awww, dang. We only made it once. It had a unique vibe. I always wondered if it’d become a hangout. Seriously (and sincerely) bummed it is no more.
Y’all should just put up a little shop in the corner of the warehouse. Though I can see that that could mess with logistics.
@joelmw@troy yeah I went like three times I think. When did it close? I had no idea. It was nice setup but I think maybe not enough t people knew about it. I don’t remember there being too much said about it online
I bought 4 and agree they last a long time. What I don’t like about them is that they are less absorbent than the other kind of yellow “regular” type of cellulose sponge that has the bigger, irregular sized air holes (these ones being sold now don’t mop up water as well) and the scratchy side is less so than the green scratchy ones.
@Kidsandliz It’s true that they’re a little less absorbent, so that could definitely be an issue for some. It’s not so much for me. Likewise, I actually appreciate that the scratchiness isn’t as abrasive. It’s been plenty for me so far, even on pots and pans and cheesy messes left to harden.
But I also had a small stock of the regular (mine are the standard blue; I didn’t like the yellow and green for the abrasiveness issue mentioned). I haven’t used one in a long while and the one I had out is currently dry as a desert rock. I still check it periodically because those fuckers get stanky if you look at ‘em wrong. Meanwhile I’m still on my first of these pups, which I routinely (inadvertently) leave in standing water or otherwise wet, and still it shows not a hint of going bad. Anyway, the OG is still there if I need the killer abrasion or absorption; like I said, I haven’t touched it in a long while and probably when I did use it was more out of habit early on.
It’s also worth noting that I was brought up to use lots of the elbow grease and, truly, more than I should. My fingernails get some usage too, for the occasional stubborn bit. Not that often, really, but enough that I felt guilty leaving that part out.
@KSchweitz So did I, and there were a bunch of folks back then who chimed in wanting a smaller pack of them if they came up again. Well, here they were. Last time, they sold out as an all-day item. This time, in a short 'Thon spot, 83 sets of 4 were ordered. Something tells me that we have not seen the last of them.
Meanwhile, the one we had already been using for over 6 months back in July has now started to develop a tear in the scrubby side. We had three spares under the sink when I ordered the box of 20. I figure we’re not going to run out of them at this point unless my daughter preemptively relieves me of some.
Purchased this set, started using when received, and finally threw the first one away today. It lost a lot of volume/rigidity and was starting to break apart more often, but a terrific lifetime
Mine didn’t last long… Not a fault of the product. The product works well. It was a fault of the wife who throws sponges away when they get dirty instead of washing them like I asked.

Still on my first one, it’s in great shape. The sponges I used to get would be showing some age by now. These are nice sponges.
@djslack Seconded.
@djslack @mossygreen Thirded
@djslack fourtheded. Bought the 20 pack and have no regrets. And plenty of sponges.
@djslack I JUST threw out my 1st sponge! Really impressive performance
Me too. Bought a huge number of these but still using the first one. They work really well. I put it in the dishwasher every time it runs.
Came here to say the same. I am likely set for sponges for life now.
Really wish these were up during VMP hour. I wonder if they are at the morning save physical store.
@mehrrychristmas MS store is no more
@troy aww, I never got to make the trip!
@troy hmm… so is that why meh is having all the irks/mehrathons?

Still had more to sell today at 20 for $50 but you cancelled my order when they were 20 for $20.

@OnionSoup I put mine in the dishwasher. They come out nice and clean.
@OnionSoup What a shameful waste!
Sheesh, I thought this was live and went over to Sidedeal looking for some!
@Kyeh I would buy more too.
@Kyeh Oops, sorry for the necro.
@zehnn Interesting info, though - I don’t use mine that often (I use a washcloth mostly) and it still looks brand new.
