I did not remove mine and they charged/worked. My question is are they waterproof? Do I need to bring them inside when it rains? Maybe keep the Saran on to keep it more water tight?
@wildmomo if you keep the plastic on the solar panel it won’t charge as effectively. You shouldn’t have to bring them inside. But here is the information from the specifications:

Really like the solar tiki torches. Unfortunately, only three out of four worked. So I’d have to give them a “meh” rating.
@dizzlizz Try replacing the rechargable battery. Eventually those run out of juice and you need to put a new one in.
