@scilynt The red bag coffee is pretty good for the price, and you can get it whole bean or ground. We prefer their Honduras coffee, I think it’s organic, but it’s only a buck or two more than the red bag. The Guatemalan coffee that they pack in the same box as the Honduras is gross, IMO. It comes in a white bag, and it’s whole bean.
yep. I wish the maple was available for a longer period of time. Like many of their products the packaging flats consist of two different flavors (in this case, of half pumpkin spice and half maple.) Guess which one is still available…
@brainmist@JekiTheRogue@scilynt, you’re likely right!! At my age, I just hit & miss. My Niece’s daughter & family went to Nicaragua & brought us back some coffee from there & it was very tasty, but how one fixes coffee makes a difference to how it tastes!!
@mattkillpatty, almost don’t count, except in 🧲 horse-shoes & hand grenades but when two planes almost crash into each other, itain’t cool, especially if you’re in one of them!!
@highonpez, yes, it does when the Blueberry Muffins are hot & are Eaten with the coffee, but, that said, there is no such delicious eatables offered here,…None, Zero, n
Nada.
@mbersiam Let met get this straight. You take the time to ground beans than put the grounds in an instant delivery device. So, the worst of both worlds is realized. Makes sense.
@hchavers we have a keurig at work and not a regular coffee pot. If I want coffee at the ready I need to do it … So I buy pre-ground for work or buy whole bean and pre-grind some to take to work. At home I have a grinder a full 12 cup coffee maker that I love
i was gonna tell cannedirt, I love coffee either way, fast, or pains- takingly slow & I love it in a pod, from Colombian beans offa tree, or from a Starbucks coffee shop but meh couldn’t post my reply, but there’s more than 1 way to skin a chicken🦢!!
I like flavors of coffee.
I don’t like chocolate cherry
This price for 3 (won’t use cherry) 12oz bags is too much for 2.25 lbs of coffee still over $9.50 a lb
let’s see, last coffee I bought was a Colombian Red Plum - last of it’s kind as the roaster went out of business. One of the best coffee’s I’ve ever drank.
$0.50/ounce is a sneaky way of saying $8/lb.
There is an entire aisle at the Christmas Tree Shop dedicated to this style of overly-flavored ground bagged coffee. I bought once, never again.
Nice try. Coffee nerd drinking my pour-over of freshly roasted, freshly ground and freshly brewed local coffee, pondering which hazy boi I’ll enjoy tonight, opening Meh to find mass-produced, flavored, ground, almost certainly stale coffee. Hard pass.
@obxer “It doesn’t interest me” or “I don’t like it” or nothing would have been sufficient to convey disinterest, but no, you had to paint us a whole picture of your smug self satisfaction. Congrats!
Just because the original price is 2x too expensive does not make 50% off a good deal. I’m in at $12. $16 would be 50/50 chance of pulling the trigger.
@Trinityscrew Well, maybe he’ll never speak to you again. But then, maybe you like your brother-in-law. But then again…he likes flavored coffee…so probably not.
Do you guys have a whole container ship that’s just sitting in port, waiting to be unloaded, full of knives and speaker docks? Because this crap you’re selling lately, it’s not even crap enough to buy.
Arrogant Bastards! I would not let artificially flavored beans touch my burr grinder or, my coffee maker. If this were offered in whole beans, I would consider the purchase, but only the “Breakfast Blend”
Mmmm! Goddamn, Jimmie! This is some serious gourmet shit! Usually, me and Vince would be happy with some freeze-dried Taster’s Choice, but he springs this serious GOURMET shit on us! What flavor is this?
But over time, things changed. The IPAs got hazier and smoother and now taste like orange juice. The stouts, infused with chocolate and coconut, are basically boozy milkshakes.
I’m still not buying the coffee, but this is painfully accurate.
Haters gonna hate. I bought it to stash in the back of the freezer for those times I run out of coffee (and yes it happens and yes I usually have some stashed in the freezer - just used up the last of the Cafe du Monde when I recently ran out)
@robson no can do on the freeze dried. That’s stuff really bad. When you bag this stuff up and suck out the air it stays pretty good and tastes better than instant. But, like I said…haters gonna hate
Glad all the haters left some for us late arrivers. I like to mix a little bit of flavored coffee in with fresh ground. It’s the best of both worlds.
/giphy advanced-dejected-roadrunner
@eethomp I like to throw a half teaspoon of cinnamon into the coffee maker occasionally, just to kick things up a little. We have tried a lot of different brands, but seem to always go back to the plain old whole bean 8 o’clock columbian peaks. It has the best flavor and is not terribly expensive.
@eethomp@Steve7654
I do that too. My only issue is the cinnamon tends to plug up the filter paper and let the coffee overflow the basket. I started using coarsely ground cinnamon sticks (from the $tree) which seems to help.
you said…“Mark my words, in no less than five years, the hot thing in all the hipster coffee shops in LA will be (ironically at first, and then with sincere delight) coffee made to taste like blueberry muffins.”

COFFEE!!!
No whole bean = no deal.
@connorbush So you would want your burr grinder smelling like a combo of Chocolate Cherry Decadence & Vanilla Creme Brulee??
Not for me. I am not a fan of “flavored” coffees, and I certainly wouldn’t taint my grinder with them…
@connorbush @ELJAY Heh-heh. You said “taint”. Heh-heh.
@connorbush @ELJAY @Trinityscrew
I don’t either, and do occasionally do a vanilla roast
But… I buy it from some place where it is still fresh roasted.
This is likely to be burnt and most definitely to be stale underneath the flavor
Meh. Maybe if it were 6 bags, and whole bean. But otherwise, I can get cheaper and better at Aldi.
(Is there a Meh Aldi Appreciation thread? Because there should be.)
@brainmist Sounds like a Goat theme. hmmmm…
@brainmist which from Aldi would you recommend?
@scilynt The red bag coffee is pretty good for the price, and you can get it whole bean or ground. @brainmist @ybmuG, This may be that coffee that Cheeto called COVFEFE!! Now I know what that word means,…Bull Shit!!
@JekiTheRogue @scilynt, I may be wrong & I ain’t the Word Police, but ain’t that ‘Hondurian’, but we get what you talkin.
@brainmist Aldi French Vanilla here. Even my 16 year old son will drink it. Unfortunately my 16 year old son will drink it.
@1DisabledWarVet @JekiTheRogue @scilynt Probably “Honduran”.
But yes, they have flavored, single origin, fair trade… I like their seasonal flavors.
@1DisabledWarVet @scilynt Honduras. https://www.aldi.us/en/products/beverages/coffee/detail/ps/p/simply-nature-fair-trade-organic-whole-bean-coffee/ I guess the other one is Peru, not Guatemala, but either way it’s gross.
@brainmist

Flavoured coffee is just so wrong on so many fronts.
Ground only?
Not a chance.
@rjquillin, it’s like taking a shower with your socks on, …Oh, wait, that analogy is about wearing a rubber, My Bad!!
no. just… NO
@alacrity, just remember, you asked for this nx line,… .that’s what she said!!
I LOVE that write-up - my feelings about beer exactly!!!
Chocolate-cherry??? Oh, ick. Nope.
@cbl_wv Actually, that one has a ton of good reviews on Amazon.
That is one hell of a write up! Almost makes me wanna buy this. Almost.
@mattkillpatty, almost don’t count, except in 🧲 horse-shoes & hand grenades but when two planes almost crash into each other, itain’t cool, especially if you’re in one of them!!
@1DisabledWarVet @mattkillpatty
don’t forget nuclear weapons
@Cerridwyn @mattkillpatty, Mutual Assured Destruction, aka, MAD, is not my idea of close, but rather, is more like ‘The End’!!
No I don’t want this coffee and no I’m not a snob. I just happen to have correct opinions that this is in violation of.
@DoctorOW…of everything decent & cool.
Blueberry Muffin Coffee sounds great, actually.
@highonpez, yes, it does when the Blueberry Muffins are hot & are Eaten with the coffee, but, that said, there is no such delicious eatables offered here,…None, Zero, n
Nada.
@highonpez Get some freshly roasted whole beans from Ethiopia and have a cup bursting with natural blueberry notes.
@obxer I would love to see a blend that could somehow get some oaty/nutty notes out of the other roast.
If coffee ain’t in a pod, it ain’t fast enough for me. (How much hate will this get me?)
@hchavers
more than you can ever know.
puts exlax in your coffee pod
@hchavers I put ground coffee in a re-usable pod. You could do that
@mbersiam Let met get this straight. You take the time to ground beans than put the grounds in an instant delivery device. So, the worst of both worlds is realized. Makes sense.

Sorry, pre-ground just isn’t bougie enough.
@canneddirt, none here,… everythin you said, I LOVE IT!
Ick, flavored coffee is pretty much disgusting…
@robson Right? It doesn’t have to be whole bean, it just has to be real coffee.
Make up your mind! Give me whole beans or give me pods.
i was gonna tell cannedirt, I love coffee either way, fast, or pains- takingly slow & I love it in a pod, from Colombian beans offa tree, or from a Starbucks coffee shop but meh couldn’t post my reply, but there’s more than 1 way to skin a chicken🦢!!

@CaptAmehrican Send me your chocolate cherry.

@obxer Snob much?
@obxer “It doesn’t interest me” or “I don’t like it” or nothing would have been sufficient to convey disinterest, but no, you had to paint us a whole picture of your smug self satisfaction. Congrats!

To each his own. My wife likes flavored coffee, particularly hazelnut. I just want my coffee to taste like coffee. I’m going to pass on this one.
@Trinityscrew Correction. My wife made me buy it for her brother. Odd. I thought she liked him.
@Trinityscrew Well, maybe he’ll never speak to you again. But then, maybe you like your brother-in-law. But then again…he likes flavored coffee…so probably not.
Why would anyone grind a coffee bag?
No way I’m going to pay liquor prices for coffee!
mmmmm - mummy dust in a fancy bag
Do you guys have a whole container ship that’s just sitting in port, waiting to be unloaded, full of knives and speaker docks? Because this crap you’re selling lately, it’s not even crap enough to buy.
All this for $8 a pound?!? I won’t pay more than $6 a pound for good stuff.
I miss OW (Original W00t). You would have sold out in seconds if you just promoted this as 4 Bags O’ Crap.
Arrogant Bastards! I would not let artificially flavored beans touch my burr grinder or, my coffee maker. If this were offered in whole beans, I would consider the purchase, but only the “Breakfast Blend”

Dang! Organic only here. So many pesticides in coffee and with liver issues… sigh. Maybe someday, Meh.
https://www.organicconsumers.org/news/pesticides-your-coffee
I only buy whole bean locally roasted. and at $12.50 a pound I guess it’s a real deal!
I’m still not buying the coffee, but this is painfully accurate.
Haters gonna hate. I bought it to stash in the back of the freezer for those times I run out of coffee (and yes it happens and yes I usually have some stashed in the freezer - just used up the last of the Cafe du Monde when I recently ran out)
@allergycheryl just put some freeze dried in the pantry, no worse than this crap by the time you get to it and cheaper too
@robson no can do on the freeze dried. That’s stuff really bad. When you bag this stuff up and suck out the air it stays pretty good and tastes better than instant. But, like I said…haters gonna hate

A good use for the old meh sourced FoodSaver!

can you use a burr grinder to grind coffee bags or should you plan on using your Blendtec?
or maybe I am overthinking this all and you are getting (only) the bags… intact.
