Proving wrong is exactly the wrong attitude. You should present your argument with facts and citations to back up your claim.
Look up burden of proof.

Basically, if you make a statement, you gotta give some proof that it is right. Then it is up to the other people to prove you wrong. You can’t just say something and expect others to prove you wrong, you have to put some effort in.

@mike808 Better is relative. Most people who use whey protein use it to support a weight training program. And for that whey is not only better it is the best protein supplement. That is why so many whey proteins are geared towards the fitness market and other types of protein not so much.
If you want a slower digesting protein then casein protein is better than whey.
If you say that other prtoeins are more humane or environmentally friendly or whatever else, then that can be valid as well. But for most users of whey supplements there isn’t a better alternative for building muscle.
If you are a vegetarian and take protein supplements to increase your protein intake, I would argue whey is still better but other sources of protein will serve you well. If you are vegan then whey isn’t even an option.
The bottom line is that there is no one answer for what is best. But for that other chum to say that soy is unilaterally better than whey just shows how little he knows about protein and it’s very misleading to people who also don’t know but don’t pretend to be experts.

By the way, let me explain to you how products are priced. If a company manufactures both whey protein and soy protein they’re both marked up by the same percentage so the margin is the same. They don’t sell both at the same price regardless of cost to produce and make less money on one than the other. Where do you get these crazy ideas???

Having worked as a senior manager in retail for 8 years and having to place hundreds of thousands of dollars in yearly orders for a variety of products, I can assure you that different products have a different markup percentages. A TV, for example, is marked up very little percentage wise while small components like a phone case is marked up a lot.
If you ever go to college, they will probably make you take both micro and macro economics to get your Associates degree. In those classes, they will discuss the supply and demand curves and how companies determine prices. It’s not a flat percentage markup around the board for all products.
Also, your video only tells us what whey is. We know what it is… again, because that’s fact. The problem we have is regarding your wild claims that it’s useless and only used because it’s cheaper. It can be profitable AND better, you know.

Anyway, like all female mammals, milk is produced after a pregnancy and a simple google search resulted in this tidbit: “Dairy cows must give birth to one calf per year in order to continue producing milk. Typically they are artificially inseminated within three months of giving birth.”

Until it becomes a theory, then it is only a hypothesis. Show me “The theory of whey protein is better than soy” and I will then say you don’t need more proof. And, even after it becomes a theory, it must hold up to scrutiny. It’s sort of like the “Theory of Evolution” being tested by religious people all the time. To remain a theory, it must hold up to all their questioning.

Absolutely agree that it can be very profitable and better for the retailer. I used to buy my soy protein at GNC for decades but GNC stopped selling their brand of soy protein and only have whey protein now. They would not have discontinued the product if it was profitable. Even if it was profitable, whey is more profitable and you do not want to sell a product that cuts into your profit margins of a more profitable product.

There was a study that said soy protein lowers testosterone but was later debunked by another study. I think you may have linked one of the older studies because it’s talking about the isoflavones and how it can cause breast cancer in lab rats but your second link says that isoflavones help fight heart disease, osteoporosis, cancer, and other diseases.
Some people don’t handle milk products very well especially those people who are lactose intolerant and whey does contain lactose. Only the whey isolate part has the lactose taken out because it is heavily processed.
Whey contains cholesterol at about 1% and soy does not contain any. Whey protein contains a high amount of saturated fat and may increase your cholesterol count.
Soy has a higher concentration of the amino acids arginine and glutamine than whey does.
When increased amounts of whey protein are taken over an extended period of time, there is a risk of developing kidney disorders, including kidney stones.
With all that said, you’re welcome to have all the whey you want and I will continue buying soy protein instead. I’m not trying to sway you away from the products you want and I’m not going to complain if you want to take up smoking or any other harmful practice because, frankly, I don’t know who you are and don’t care about you.

There continues to be more demand for F-series vehicles that they raise the price $3,400 just because of the demand. Direct from Ford’s December 2017 financials: “For F-150, it was impressive story as well. Average F-150 ATP in December was $43,300 for the month. That’s a $3,400 increase over a year ago. Ford makes so much profit off their F-series trucks that they do not want to bring back the popular Ranger series because those sales will cut into the sales of the more profitable F-series vehicles.

There can be many more of these examples but most companies keep their cost prices secret. I told you about my experience working in retail and I did know the cost of every product I sold. I gave you my expert conclusion based upon facts. If you want more examples, ask someone who is still in the retail business.

@mike808 I agree about the cow factory. But I Don’t see a problem with GMO. They have been approved by the FDA and, in some cases, the GMO version has health benefits like golden rice with extra vitamin A to help blindness in 3rd world countries.
@cengland0 I was pointing out attributes of the other options, and really, the only thing whey has going for it is that it is cheap - because it is subsidized by the environmental damage costs being dumped into the planet. Its not sustainable, its not low-carbon, it’s not animal-slave-free.

Can I lose weight on this stuff? I see it being sold everywhere,(walmart center aisles), and I don’t think my America has gone from sedentary fat cows to everyone excersizing. Therefore, I concluded this must be some kinda weight loss ‘supplement’ I don’t know about.
