@JT954 Thank you for sharing this. During some spring cleaning I came across my collection from the late 80s early 90s of Uncanny Xmen, X-factor, and a few odds and ends like Witchblade #1, etc. Definitely had me nostalgic for a comic book run.
I know the write up says multiple orders may have some duplicates, but I’ve been burned by Meh vagueness before – can someone clarify – are they all pretty much the same set? Or are we talking maybe 2 or 3 dupes if 3 sets are ordered?
@eeterrific VMP idea: A subscription to a monthly or quarterly comic book about Irk’s and Glen’s daring adventures where they rescue dead-end merchandise and bring it to the promised land of daily deals! Featuring additional characters like the Singing Cowboy and the Breakfast Octopus!
Mehman’s superpower is wasting untold sums of money on stuff that “seemed like a good idea at the time”, while Mehwoman’s superpower is storing dozens of unopened boxes in the most compact space possible.
No duplicates, unless you count the angry birds sticker books that looked like more protection for the precious comic books. Some old, some new. One was actually dated in '76. Seriously impressed my hubby! Thanks Meh!!
The rest could be anything from Aquaman, Black Panther, Captain America, Daredevil, Eddie Brock, Flash, GI-Joe, Hulk, Iron Man, Joker, Killmonger, Luke Cage, Mantis, Namor, (Dr.) Octopus, Punisher, Quicksilver, Robin, Star Trek, Transformers, Ultron, Vision, Wonder Woman, X-men, Yellowjacket, Zsasz, and plenty more
Guaranteed no doubles, unless you buy two or three sets, at which point there’s no promises
What’s in the Box?
8x Random comics featuring Avengers characters
17x Other random comics (that may or may not feature Avengers characters)
Random Avengers comic fact: When Mantis premiered in the book, she started as the love interest of the Swordsman, but set her sights on the Vision and tried to seduce him away from Wanda instead. And she was human, and kind of a bitch.
Funny story, I bought this deal back in May 2017 and forgot I had them until I seen this deal tonight, my Grandson will be very happy tomorrow hope he likes them like I did when I was 4, Superman, Jugg Head and Veronica, Batman, Good memories.
@lseeber me too! at least from a store which in this case was the “Stewarts” (northeast convenience store chain) on Main Street.
when the comics went to 35 cents, I rage quit them, for in my short life time they had gone from “5 for a dollar” to “4 for a dollar” to “not 3 for a dollar”.
(there is no sales tax on periodicals in NY state. or there was none in the Seventies, at least).
Dilemma - Do I buy these for my grandson or his father … I know his dad collects comics but my grandson loves to read them. Are these worthy of collecting? Maybe I should just give them to my grandson and let dad drool!
I gave the angry birds sticker books to my brothers kids and then bought a box of the sticker packs off ebay. i’m gonna give them a pack or 2 every time I see them and let them fill the books up over time.
