@werehatrack “The Golgafrichans had been a world faced with overpopulation and solved this problem by convincing a third of their population to embark on a space journey to colonize other worlds, telling them the world was going to end and the rest of the population would be along shortly. This third of their population included such useless people as middle managers and telephone sanitizers. Ironically the two-thirds left behind on Golgafricha are killed off by a phone spread pathogen while the useless third fly off and eventually become the human race on Earth.”
Last time this was offered, I looked at the reviews, and some people complained about a wet dog and burning hair smell and that it yellowed some of their white plastic. Which is consistent with them actually being the real deal.
One was even like “my other sanitizer doesn’t smell like this afterwards!” lol, that’s because your other one is probably a fraud.
@phendrick
They leave your used Kleenex all crumbly and stiff because they just kill the snotnasties but don’t remove the dried boogerslime.
They will not restore the lost flavor in chewing gum, nor will they kill the nasties that are hiding inside the chewed gum; they sanitize the surface alone. So no, this will not allow you to safely harvest a year’s worth of new gum from the theater seats during the next truly awful Friedberg & Seltzer epic.
I wonder how the big one would do if I smushed my carpal tunnel brace into it. I wear it every night and sometimes parts of the day, my cat is constantly rubbing his face all over it as part of demanding pets, and it’s not machine washable, so I don’t wash it nearly often enough… eew.
@KENSAI ??? Right after talking about the charging port he says it’s not rechargeable. Huh? I like the view of his bathroom with the disco lights and the pig on the toilet, though.
@nzdod
Maybe. They could be tested, but I have no idea whether these have been. In theory, they could work. There is a lot of room for oopsies between theory and execution.

Clean!
these are NOT for taint-tanning, no matter what your weird cousin says.
@alacrity Yikes
Can I sanitize the small one in the big one?
edit: Let’s see:
XL Size: Interior dimensions: 8.78” x 6.72” x 1.2”
Standard Size: Exterior dimensions: 9” x 4.9” x 1.75”
I think with a hammer and some patience, it might be possible.
@awk
or you could use one of these…
…then it will easily fit.
Finally I can sanitize all the tiny things in my home.
Does it include the LAYZOR force field as well, or is that extra?
I am unable to avoid thinking of what was said about phone sanitizers in the Hitchhiker’s Guide books.

Yes this will sanitize your Corneas.
@bugger
And to a much lesser extent, your wallet.
Without actual imagery of the diodes I have to assume these aren’t really UVC LEDs… Those are $10-15 each…
@tardis claims dual uvc bulbs, so not less, but the gas filled glass tubes?

Can these refurbish used Kleenex? (A partial solution to the landfill problem.)
How about chewing gum?
@phendrick
They leave your used Kleenex all crumbly and stiff because they just kill the snotnasties but don’t remove the dried boogerslime.

@werehatrack Theater seats? Nooo, that’d be nasty. I prefer to harvest from underneath students’ desktops. Those have been properly aged.
Gets rid of the yucky on your third hand.

@currawong In case you’re serious – get a UV shoe sanitizer and stick it in a paper bag with it.
@currawong @spyhop
A similar thing is available for CPAP mask and hose assemblies, and would easily accommodate that brace.
“You nasty”
Why yes, yes I am.
If it can’t change the colour of my banana, it’s not the one for me.
@KENSAI ??? Right after talking about the charging port he says it’s not rechargeable. Huh? I like the view of his bathroom with the disco lights and the pig on the toilet, though.
But can it cure my 3D prints?
Given that most of the curing lights are in the 395nM range, and these are around 265-275nM, probably not.
@werehatrack Wait, I can sanitize my stuff in my 3d printer curing station?
@goldnectar
Also no. The 3D curing light is around 395nM, and you need 265-275nM to kill the nasties.
Are these legit?
@nzdod
Maybe. They could be tested, but I have no idea whether these have been. In theory, they could work. There is a lot of room for oopsies between theory and execution.
@werehatrack Thanks… But this video I saw on YouTube got me thinking.
