I totally could’ve used these this morning. Was downstairs with the kids getting ready to go to the shop when I got a sharp and and halos in my vision. I thankfully staved it off, but I was worried for more than a minute.
@sillyheathen Before maturity, when I was a preteen and into my teens, I used to get debilitating headaches. Had to just go to a dark, quiet room and take some Emperin Compound #3.
@sillyheathen@therealjrn Same - as a teen I would get bad headaches that would put me down for 24 hours or so. (No intoxicants involved, so I assumed it was migraine. Probably stemming from poor sleep habits.) Fortunately, they went away in my early 20’s.

The first paragraph of Meh discussion mentioned see a Dr, do so. Veterans hospital issues a self injectable like a epi pen I can’t say the name of so I don’t get sued. Same medicine is available in a single use nasal spray. Spray on me is 50-70% effective so I prefer the shot, tiny needle barely feel it and faster relief.
But get seen as there are many different types of headaches that could be more serious. I’ve seen from a stress headache to tumors and even strokes.
Just my opinion and experiences.
@craigcush Once a month self injection, I just began mine so I’ll be seeing IF and how much it helps.
My headaches and migraines are from nerve impingement from a gulf war injury nearly 4 decades ago. I already get epidurals at discs and it’s amazing.
@craigcush That nasal spray’s post nasal drip is almost as bad as the migraine itself. And the taste lasts for HOURS too. And - AND - it does nothing for me. Gotta load up on the pills and/or the injections.
@craigcush why would there be trouble naming the auto-injector drug? Here are a few:
• for acute treatment: Sumatriptan and Dihydroergotamine (DHE)
• for prevention: CGRP inhibitors such as Ajovy (fremanezumab) and Aimovig (erenumab)
I would never use heat on my headaches! I bought several things like this and they feel good for about 3 minutes and then aren’t cold enough after that. I use ice cubes in a sealable bag. After about 3-5 bags of ice, my headaches go away, but if they are too bad, or if they last too long or something is going on and I can’t sit around with ice bags, I’ve got meds, but with meds come the possibility of rebound headaches. These things don’t work for me.
@Kyser_Soze I have been an advocate of bringing back the top hat, but more for hot weather than headaches. You would have a molded plastic “tub” with a watertright cap. Once the ice melts, you just refill it. This would be for sitting/standing/driving only.
In the long run you could swap out the “ice tub” for any other crap like portable VR gear or raspberry pi tech.
The only question you have to answer is “How strong is your neck?”.
/showme Steampunk dude with thick muscular neck is wearing top hat and saying “Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it”.
I have this, or one nearly identical looking. I echo the reviews that say they are cold at first. I usually have to put a tea towel or something thin under it. I’m sure i look insane while wearing it but luckily I can’t see because the mask works so well.
Not sure what “EV” has in the “fairly clean” freezer (and we probably don’t want to know,)
Maybe some baking soda would help if there’s room or maybe it’s time to throw away the rotten moldy things?

Why would I buy a cap to give me migraines?
@yakkoTDI you’d be a sadist if you did! But maybe we all are since we can’t stay away from the meh?
@sillyheathen @yakkoTDI I think you meant masochist, not sadist.
Masochistic Baby - Shel Silverstein
@rpstrong @yakkoTDI or maybe sadomasochist
@rpstrong @sillyheathen Or a sadomehsochist?

I used to suffer with terrible migraines and after 8 to 10 months of Botox injections I’ve been migraine free for 15 years!

Do they come in size 32?

@mediocrebot I could have wrote “thin scrawny dude with thick neck” for contrast, but you get the idea.
Are these for Mrs. Daredevil?
@Kerig3 Hooray, someone else said it so I didn’t have to.
The ad copy guy is wrong. If 29,726 people in the northeast got together and formed a municipality, there’d be way more than 4 Dunkin’s.
